Heart Moments

I am soooo sorry that it has been so long since I have written. I usually don't miss a day and now I have missed about 4 in a row. I am not sick so that isn't my excuse, but I have just been super busy. I have worked all week getting ready for a new class I am teaching at the Quilt Shop. The Birthday Club started today, and it will go on until June on the 2nd Sat of the Month from 10:00 till Noon! We had a huge crowd today, it was really fun. I am soooo blessed to be among sooo many amazing women. Thanks to all of you that came today, you totally made my day!

I have had a lot of Heart Moments this week and so I will try to just share a few with you, since it is Valentine's Day and all!
Loved watching the my granddaughters look at photo books of Jeff and I were young. They didn't know Nana and Poppa when we were that young.
It was cute watching them giggle about some of our photos! Sisters do that alot...giggle!

Since Friday was so beautiful, they wanted to have lunch on the deck. Fun watching them eat and then do bird calls to all the birds they kept hearing.

Sleep Over Breakfast!

Then after we cleaned up breakfast, they wanted to decorate the table for our Valentine's Dinner with Popp.

These girls love their Poppa! Plus we even had name cards on the table...made by Miss Jenny!

The girls love to crochet with their fingers but I am trying to get them use to a hook. Today was Jenny's first day trying the hook, she made her bracelet with a bit of help from me. She was pretty proud of that and her necklace she made all by herself (finger crocheting ).
Then Angie tried the hook again, had a bit of an attitude at first...then she got the knack of it and boom...her necklace was done so fast! She was so excited! I hope she keeps practicing, once you get the hook down, the sky is the limit with your creating!

Here is an upclose of Angie's necklace, she was so proud and she even added beads!

Another sweet Heart Moment was getting to talk to our Grandson Kai on FaceTime and see how much he loved the Valentine Holder I  made him. Missing this sweet face!
The next Heart Moment... happened at lunch actually! I was standing in line to pick up lunch for Jeff and I ( since I just got off of work ). And I started talking to the 3 lovely ladies who were in front of me.  ( I know what you are thinking, why do you talk to people while you are standing in line? ) Well, you never know when you will make a new friend, and I hit the Jack Pot, I made 3 new friends.

We got to talking and they offered to pay for my lunch, I felt very awkward, that isn't the reason that I spoke to them at all and definitely didn't want to have them think that. But then I realized they were looking for someone to Bless today. We sat and talked, and then they shared with me the Love of the Savior that they had. They truly were Christlike in their attitudes and spirit today. Not because they bought my lunch, but because they truly cared and just were doing the Right Thing at the Right Time...just as the Savior did.
I hugged my new friends goodbye and left with a sweet and Grateful heart, that I got to meet these great ladies. I don't believe that there are accidents in life. I think people come and go in our lives for a reason. The reason for me today ...was to be reminded of all the good people that all out there in the world...making a BEAUTIFUL DIFFERENCE! So a big Thank You for my new Angel friends!

Great Valentine's Day Ideas from the heart!

Jason F. Wright had some great Valentine ideas from the heart and on a budget.

Read more from Jason F. Wright,  here:

February 12, 2013 There are three things men cannot avoid: death, taxes and Valentine's Day. Nor can we avoid their proven side effects of stress and the cold sweats. At least in the case of Feb. 14, there is hope. To combat V-Day-induced anxiety, the National Retail Federation reports that men will spend an average of $168.74 on flowers, candy, jewelry and cards for their sweethearts. Overall, both genders in America will drop a hefty $17.6 billion on the holiday. Many of us love-struck men are so committed to getting it right, we'll even go into debt to finance our Valentine's Day purchases. Because nothing screams romance quite like saying, "I love you so much I'm willing to max out my Visa card in your honor." But you don't have to be Dr. Phil to know that she'd probably prefer a single rose and 100 uninterrupted minutes of your day. She doesn't want to know you spent a lot of money รข€” she'd rather know you spent a lot of time. If you'd like to try celebrating Valentine's Day this week without busting the budget, consider one or more of these 10 ideas to make the day meaningful without requiring a bank loan.

1. Re-create your first date. A lot sure has changed since that first date, hasn't it? Why not surprise your sweetheart by re-creating it as best you can, right down to the itsy-bitsy details? What did you eat? What did you wear? Did you tell a dumb joke? She will appreciate that you savor those memories.

2. Breakfast picnic in the park. Buy her favorite kind of cereal in the miniature boxes, plus single serve bottles of milk, juice and perhaps a bagel or donut and take her the park for a long lunch or dinner. Too cold? Tuck the kids in early and throw a blanket on the living room floor.

3. Rent that movie. You know that movie she can't watch often enough? Yes, it's the same one you just can't bear to imagine watching again. For Valentine's Day, why not track it down, make her favorite treat and cuddle on the couch while she enjoys the movie she loves with guy she loves even more.

4. Dollar-store date. Give yourselves a budget - $5 each? - and hit your local dollar store. The goal is for each of you to buy things that have sentimental value without the other person seeing what's in your basket until you're home. Each item has to relate to a favorite memory from your relationship.

5. Hand over your phone. Come home early on Valentine's Day and immediately hand your wife your iPhone, pager or Motorola brick. Tell her to ignore the shivers, shakes and other withdrawal symptoms and not return it until the next morning. Then tune the rest of the world out and tune into her.

6. Visit that place. You know that museum, gallery or visitors' center she's always wanted to visit? This just might be the night. Most are free to enter and she'll appreciate that you've been paying attention when you've driven by. Plan well and be sure to call ahead to check operating hours.

7. Take the day off. If your schedule allows, consider taking off the entire day and dedicating it to her. Does she have a honey-do list? Would she enjoy a long walk together? Could you care for the kids while she reads all afternoon on the couch? How about a discount matinee at the movies?

8. Shout "I love you!" 2013-style. In the classic romantic comedies, the man takes the microphone at the concert or yells from the middle of a crowded mall that he loves her with all his heart. In the digital age, why not shout from the rooftops of Facebook or Twitter and appropriately proclaim your feelings online? She'll smile - guaranteed.

9. Make a handmade valentine. We all remember making valentines in elementary school using candy hearts, Red Hots and construction paper. She wouldn't really appreciate that today, would she? Just watch her eyes light up when you hand her something you made by hand with her in individual tastes in mind.

10. Do something she hates. We all have things we just don't care for. Why not pick a few things from her list and knock them out? Iron your own shirts, deep clean the playroom, vacuum her car, or brave that long line at the DMV or post office. Discover what she's been putting off and take on that headache for her.

The changing of the Seasons!

Well, today we took down Christmas, we had to do it while Angie wasn't here...she loves Christmas just as much as Nana does, if not more. I put on the Christmas music and tried to get excited about the Valentine's Day decorations. They will be the next ones to put up this week. It went down faster than normal because everyone helped, plus some friends of ours came over too! That is true friendship don't you think to help someone like me ( who has tons of decorations )? That is what you call...ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY! Thanks dear friends!

So here I sit, it is late... I am waiting for Lee to get home from a church dance and looking at my empty house. I am not sure where I first developed the love of decoration for the seasons? My mom decorated for Christmas but that was about it. When we had Amy ( our first ) I had already been making and selling crafts for a business and of course the best seller is whatever the season is at that time. But for some reason, I was excited to decorate and celebrate every season with Amy. By the time Bradley was born... I already had quite a collection built up. I am not sure if something is called a collection if  you make all of it? Whatever!

I have been tempted (in my old age) not to put up ALL the decorations for the different seasons, but that went away as soon as I became a Nana. To watch Angie's little face when she reaches in and pulls out each decorations...is worth it all! There is not a kid that come's over to Aunt Lynn's house that doesn't love it too. When I told Angie the other day that we need to take down the Christmas decorations she said " Oh Nana, don't take down the deawations". When I said we had to, she then said " Are we going to put up Halloween?" :) Then I explained Valentine's Day and she threw up her arms and said "Oh Nana, are we going to put up hearts everywhere?" How can you turn a face like that down?

I hope that each of you are able to enjoy the changing of the seasons and holidays! I really am grateful that I get to be here to celebrate each one. Good night dear friends!
