America The Beautiful!

Thanks Lauren for the photo today, to see more of her photos go to:

America the Beautiful
Written by: Katherine Lee Bates

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassion'd stress
A thorough fare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness.

America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law.

O beautiful for heroes prov'd
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life.

America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears.

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.

And thanks Kai ( our All American Grandson )for showing everyone how to do the Happy 4th of July Dance!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Just finished a BBQ with some neighbors and friends. What a beautiful day it has been. Full sunshine and in the 70's ...perfect! Now it is getting dark and Angie is waiting for Nana to come out and watch the fireworks with her. You can see so many good ones right from our deck! Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July and like me are grateful for this wonderful country we live in.

Ok, gotta go it is time to see booming fireworks...good night dear friends!

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; . . . . We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors . . . [they] transmitted them to us with care and diligence."
Samuel Adams

"Under the law of nature, all men are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own person, which includes the liberty of moving and using it at his own will. This is what is called personal liberty, and is given him by the Author."  ~ Thomas Jefferson

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." - Thomas Paine

"Where liberty dwells, there is my country." - Benjamin Franklin
