Walk by Faith Bible Journaling by Karen

Hello friends from Karen!  Today I'm sharing a recent Bible journaling entry I created using some of the new Faith stamps. I'm finding lots of inspiration in these new sets and enjoying fitting them together to emphasize scripture verses and tell a story or lesson learned.

Today my entry is in Genesis 50. Many of you may know the story of Joseph, whose brothers sold him into slavery because they were jealous of the attention and gifts he received. Joseph's life was turned upside down and he didn't understand why all this was happening to him. But God knew how to take this bad and use it for good. After many years, Joseph was able to fully forgive his brothers and said to them in verse 20, "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good...."

I created a dusty background with acrylic paints, symbolizing that we do not always see clearly. I started with the Walk by Faith set and added a few words from other sets to complete my entry. I really like the "spear-like" quality of this large arrow and the mini arrow cross found on the In Jesus' Name set. To finish off the page, I used a black pen to box in the main sentiments and added dots and highlighting with gold and white gel pens. Then I added my own prayer. We don't always understand why bad things happen, but we can continue to step out in faith, trusting in the Lord who sees all, knows all, and will do what is good and right for us.

Let the Sea Resound by Karen

Hello friends! Karen here with another Bible journaling page.
Psalm 99 is an amazing song of praise to the Lord. In verse 7 we read, "Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it!"
With that powerful imagery in mind, I created a powerful wave on my Bible page with acrylic paints, a LePen fine point black pen and the new Marvy Reminisce white gel pen.

The stamp set Heaven & Earth provided a few more details - the jumping fish and sentiment.  To fit the sentiment in my Bible margin, I snipped it into two pieces and then stamped it in the middle of the wave. Perfect fit!

The Amen stamp is from another new set, In Jesus' Name.

I love how this page turned out and that I can shout my praises to the Lord and use my creativity to do it!

Baby Layout by Christine

I'm a pen addict, there's just no getting around it!  Christine joining you and now that we have established that I am going to focus on the new white gel pen from SRM Stickers!  I'm also going to add in some jute twine and lots of stickers and you can check all of them out up close in a process video for this baby layout!

Here's the process video for this layout:

I used the Gel Reminisce White Pen to decorate all the little rectangles along my patterned paper.

It worked beautifully for making that patterned paper have a different look and a one-of-a-kind look!  I also incorporated some Black Sticker Stitches to create a border along my layout. I tucked some light pink Jute Twine underneath the pictures to add a touch of whimsy.

I incorporated some phrases from the Express Yourself/Everyday Girl sticker set to be subtitles throughout the layout.

Thanks so much for joining us today!

Sing to the Lord Bible Journaling by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here today with you to share my Sing to the Lord Bible journaling inspired by one of the songs we sing as part of our liturgy at my church.

I chose my colors based on Bible Journaling I had already done on the opposite page. While the journaling stands alone, I wanted it not to clash with the other page. To achieve this, I kept the color scheme the same.

I started by sponging blue, orange, and green ink onto my page. I didn't blend my ink very much, because I didn't want my colors to get muddy.

Next, I used the Sing & Rejoice Stamp Set border to add a music note background and "Sing to the Lord" to my page. I used waterproof ink to keep the ink from bleeding or smearing if the page is handled a lot.

Next, I added a bit more depth to my stamping by tracing some of the letters with a Reminisce White Gel Pen. I have owned many white gel pens, and this one is by far my favorite. It goes on smooth, doesn't skip, and shows up well on dark colors.

Finally, I highlighted the Bible verses that were the focus of my journaling with Marvy Color In Watercolor Pencils.

I love that this stamp set lets me do some "musical" Bible journaling. Come! Let us sing to the LORD!

Lucky, Lucky Mack by Shannon

St. Patrick's Day is almost here!
In the Morgan house, that means shenanigans and all the beauty of the holiday. We celebrate dear St. Patrick, his life and works and we also celebrate being Irish, our heritage and our faith.
This layout, celebrates Miss Mackenzie Margaret Catherine (say that 5 times fast!) and the simple serendipity of being able to find Paczki's! (Yes, I know these are Polish, we're lucky enough to be Polish too!) This is a big thing! A big, simple thing!

SRM Stickers has so many awesome options for celebrating St. Paddy's Day available in the store, including some new items that are wonderful and versatile.

You'll find stickers, jute twine, twine, punched paper pieces, lace, bags and pens on this layout:

This layout is all about the details, I like to layer and add unexpected things. Here's a close up of the left hand corner:

The brand new lace is gorgeous! It folds and lays perfectly to create an elegant effect on this layout, it draws your eye right to Mack:

Here's hoping you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day (if you celebrate)! "May the dreams you hold dearest be the ones which come true, and the kindness you spread keep returning to you!"

Hello Calligraphy Pen! by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today to share a new fun crafty product!

I was excited to receive a new calligraphy paint pen in my SRM Design Team box last week. The Calligraphy paint marker has a traditional flat head, or chisel point, nib (not like a brush marker). It's great for projects on thick paper, glass, wood, or porcelain.

Since I've been doing more brush lettering lately, it took a little bit of practice to remember how to appropriately hold and write with this type of pen, but the practicing was fun.

For this project, I created several watercolor backgrounds and then lettered on top of the pages once they were completely dry.
Here are more of my thoughts in this process video.

A little bit of highlighting with a white gel pen adds a little pop against the black lettering and colorful backgrounds.

I think that I'll be making some cards with these but I could also frame them!
What will you create with these markers?

Walk by Faith Card by Michele

Good morning! Michele here with a water colored card using SRM's new set, Walk by Faith.  I started the card by stamping each of the gym shoes with Versamark,  I embossed them in white.  I used my Zig Clean Color markers.  The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white paper and black ink.  I added some highlights to the letters with the white Reminisce gel pen.

I tied a bit of black and white twine vertically behind the sentiment and added a teeny felt star.  I adhered a few clear sequins as well.

Sometimes we all need a bit of encouragement in our lives.
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Little Lamb Bible Journaling by Shannon

Bible Journaling is such a personal thing.  Each day many of our design team members spend time reflecting on Bible verses and then adding an illustration.  Today Shannon Morgan joins us with her personal thoughts and her beautiful artistry.

-------------------------

It's always an abrupt transition from preparing for the birth of Jesus to his adulthood and acceptance of what He's about to take on. This entry is still in the celebration of Christmas for my faith, yet here we are reading about John the Baptist declaring that Jesus is THE ONE!

My mind is still stuck in infant Jesus land and we're already reading about grown up Jesus. I couldn't help drawing a baby lamb, because as infinite as Jesus becomes, he was still a sweet, vulnerable, beautiful baby boy. Being a mom, I identify with this, I am looking up into my Paddy's face now and it seems just that fast...he was a baby and it seems to have flown by. I can't help but think of him as my baby. I can't help but think of Mary feeling this way, especially once she realized what Jesus was going to endure. As always, I remain thankful for Mary's yes and Jesus being strong enough to tell his Father in Heaven, yes.

I couldn't have drawn that sweet lamb quite the way I wanted to without a perfect white pen. SRM has just that pen. It's light when you need it to be, the lamby swirls, or heavy when you need it, bordered letters. Thank you for letting me share with you and I hope you are inspired today!

Valentine Goodie Bag by Michele

Good morning!  Michele here with a Valentine goody bag to share! I used the heart and love sentiment from the brand new set, Walk by Faith The heart was stamped numerous times with Versamark ink and embossed in gold.  I used my Watercolor Twist Pencils to color the background and each of the hearts.

I added a highlight to each heart using my new Gel Reminisce Pen in white.  I stamped the Love sentiment with Versamark and embossed it in gold.  I used a heart shaped die cut and sponged pink ink around the edges while die was still in place.  I adhered everything to this darling patterned striped bag!  I added a bit of pink and white twine and a felt heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Renew The Love Within by Shannon

This may be a little late in the season to be sharing an Advent entry...but...the focus is right on time. I'm forever delayed on getting things done for myself on time.
Guys, I really wanted to be the person who completed my December Daily album (wait, what...yeah that didn't happen) and I wanted to do a daily Advent entry...cue the laughter reel, again hilarity ensues.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am incapable of saying no to a cry for help. Unless I have a bone protruding from my body somewhere or I am super ill, I will be there. This is what happened from August to December and is still ongoing. Guess what? I am more than ok with it, I am a helper, it's what I do. Yet there's that regret of not being able to focus on what I love most, creating. It's not my path at the moment. It's going to circle around. Which brings me to the relevance, on renewing the love. You deserve a few quiet moments to focus yourself each day, I'm working on loving myself a little bit this year. That means doing things that make me happy. Renewing the spirit inside myself so I can care and help others without feeling deflated. To help with renewed  joy and care.

So in a weird way, this Advent message is a Valentine/Love message to you. Renew the love within you, look to things with a smile instead of a frown. I know that's easier said than done and I am guilty of frowning myself. When you're stuck and unable to say yes...say a quick prayer to God to renew your spirit and help you to be cheerful, to love others and yourself.

This entry was incredibly easy to create, hearts are one of my favorite things, so it flowed out of me quite fluently. I used watercolor pencils, the wonderful new white pen and Le Pens for this entry. Thank you for letting me share with you.
