Fat & Fabulous T- Shirt by Tobi

Hello there! It's Tobi here, and I'm sharing my first heat-transfer vinyl project with you today.
Yes, my first project... That's how easy it is! I can see how this craft is addicting (all of the tutorials I've watched say it) and now I'm looking around my house to see what else I can embellish.

For today, I purchased:
1) a plain black t-shirt
2) an iron (because yah... I didn't have one, haha)
3) heat-transfer vinyl in pink and silver glitter

The final product was the result of a happy accident - the "Fabulous" was originally pink, but the cut didn't cut properly, so I decided to cut it out of silver. I think it worked out perfectly!

And here's me in my brand new shirt, wearing it loud and proud!!!

Thanks for taking a look, and trust me, try heat-transfer vinyl!!
So fun, so easy, and it looks amazing!

Love You Card by Tobi

Hello there!! I'm here to share a colourful card made with Bible Margins: Love clear stamp set.

Are you wondering how you could use bible journal stamps other than in your bible?

Not a bible journaler?

Neither am I, but there are still lots of great ways to use these stamps on cards, tags, and other projects!

I took the plunge and cut the stamps up to separate the images/words/phrases so I could mix and match for cards and tags. (Make sure you use good scissors if you're going to do this. I used the Tim Holtz large scissors by Tonic. (I actually cut up my stamps often and they are always my go-to scissor. I think it's the serrated edges that make them so good for cutting rubber and photopolymer)

The heart image is what inspired this card, so I stamped it in four different colours (Distress Oxides) and stamped "Love you" (two different stamps) in black ink.

Vinyl Valentine by Tobi

Hello!  Susan here to wish you a Happy Valentine's day and to thank all of our wonderful design team members for creating so many fabulous Valentine's projects.  Hope they have inspired you!

====================

Hi there! Tobi here today sharing a valentine idea using one of SRM's most versatile products: vinyl! It's not just great for home decor, it's fabulous for cardmaking too!

Once you cut out the shapes you want, think of the vinyl as a read-to-go sticker! Transfer tape (the red grid) makes it easy to transfer your design to your project without worry!

I chose to mount my vinyl to vellum to create a quasi-window card. You have to rub the vinyl into the paper and carefully lift the transfer tape to reveal the design!

And here's a look at the card with a little light streaming through the vellum... Pretty, right?

Thanks for stopping by!

Jute Heart Card by Tobi

Hello Tobi here.  Bold statements call for bold elements! Today I'm sharing a card made with a large Jute-twine heart that is so easy, I don't know why I haven't done it before!

You will need:
Jute Twine
Matte Medium (I a local art store's generic brand)

1.  Wrap twine into a circle and tie the ends off.
2.  Form a heart (or whatever shape... the twine is relatively stiff so it mostly kept it's shape
3.  paint on a generous amount of matte medium.
4.  re-form the desired shape and allow to dry. (i used a couple of cups and a pincher tool to keep my twine from moving)
5.  once dry, pick away any glue-boogers!

I adhered the heart to the card with white glue.

I finished off the project with a big, bold sentiment from the Big Love Clear Stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Quick Christmas Cards by Tobi

Hi there! It's Tobi Crawford here, and I'm all-in when it comes to Christmas!

I usually make 40-50 cards for friends and family and I try to never duplicate a design (I get bored), so one trick I use is pairing SRM Sentiment Stickers with die cuts and patterned papers!!

I think we all have dies and paper, and using stickers for your sentiment is a really quick and easy way to add the right sentiment for the right person!

This sentiment was adhered to vellum because I wanted the background to peek through.

Just Because by Tobi Crawford

Hi! It's Tobi Crawford here with a quick and easy gift tag (and bag).
I was contacted by a colleague who wanted me to buy him some essential oils for his S.O. (how sweet!!) so I made a little tag to go with the gift.

I was sneaky and used a couple of Christmas products:
Patterned paper (from a Christmas pad)

Such a cute project made quickly with easy-to-use products!!

Thanks for visiting!

Die Cut Background Christmas Card by Tobi

Hello there! It's Tobi Crawford here with a colourful and cheery holiday card!
It's never too early to get started on making Christmas cards.  I love this idea.

This was made using a few basics from around the ol' craft room:

Patterned Paper
Die Cuts (Tim Holtz by Sizzix)
Cardstock
Glitter Glue

I die cut the words from three different colours of cardstock and left some letters in, and let others fall out. I like that kind of haphazard look!

PRO TIP:

If you want to use glitter paper as a background to your design, CUT OUT THE MIDDLE!! That glitter paper is precious, am I right? I used a pen-knife to cut out the middle and now I have another good-sized piece for the future!

Thanks for stopping by.

Back to School Card Set by Tobi

Hi there, it's Tobi Crawford here! As a teacher I always have a need for school-related cards, especially at the beginning and the end of the year. Councillors, admin, and fellow teachers need a special "kudos" this time of year, and small little note-cards are the perfect token of appreciation.

Each card is a little different (that's for me - so I don't get bored), but also because I wanted to switch up the sentiments slightly to be a little more personal.

The formula is easy:

 1) ruled patterned paper
2) lined patterned paper
3) apple stickers (Live Life: School)
4) sentiments (Fancy Sentiment: Thanks)
5) twine (Solid Maraschino)

Thanks for stopping by!  See you again soon!

Mixed Media Halloween by Tobi

Hi there, it's Tobi Crawford here with some mixed media fun! Halloween is a great reason to get a little messy with your projects, and it's fun to let loose and experiment a little.

I used a 3x3x3 Kraft box as my base. Before I assembled it, I did some stencilling, and misting and created a fun little background for the vampire (Sizzix).

(For all of the stencilling I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks)

Once all of the sides were decorated, I folded the box into place and added the sentiment and vampire!

Love You Striped Card by Tobi

Hi, there! It's Tobi here and today I have a card using a whole bunch of border stamps from SRM Stickers clear stamps. I (like most of you) follow a lot of blogs and file ideas and inspiration in the ol' noggin' for later use - and today my inspiration comes from Kristina Werner

I have been discovering new ways to use my new Oxide Inks, and I definitely love to blend with them, but also stamping with them is fabulous. Because it's kind of like pigment, you can layer colours on top of each other and the colours POP!

Process:
  1. using masking tape, mask off different sized sections and sponge ink (oxide ink) onto background.
  2. grab as many border stamps as possible.
  3. stamp border stamps on top of inked lines in various colours
  4. sprinkle water to activate "oxidization"
  5. stamp sentiment in black and add die cut

      SRM Supplies:
       Other supplies:
  • Sizzix die cut
  • Ranger Distress Oxide Inks
  • Ranger Archival ink (black)
  • Bazzill Cardstock

Mixed Media Tags by Tobi

Hello!  Tobi here today.  I love to play with lots of different mediums and styles - it keeps this hobby of mine (which I have done for over 11 years now) fresh, new, and interesting.

Today I am sharing some tags made with extra paint from a painting project.

I have recently started experimenting with Acrylic Pouring and the paint that drips off the side of the canvas is just too gorgeous to throw away!!!

Here's my painting:

And here's the pool of paint that ran off the side. I simply dragged some tags through the paint and I had some lovely backgrounds ready to go!

Some simple, yet striking die cuts paired with a versatile SRM sticker sentiment was all it took to dress these tags up.

I love how a clear sticker adds just the right touch!

Traveler's Journal by Tobi

Hi there, it's Tobi here with a DIY planner using a traveller's journal and of course, SRM stamps.

Here are some things that have added up to my current planner situation:

~ I've tried the planner thing... I don't get it, OR I'm not good at it.

~ I've recently gotten into hand lettering and have started to collect journals to practice in.

~ I had a very stressful month and kept a notebook of everything i had to remember and keep track of and it really worked for me.

So, because of these factors, I thought i would continue with the notebook/hand-lettering/journal format, but organize it a little better using various stamps and supplies.

So I've got my day divided into three zones:
1) School (I'm a teacher)
2) After school - which includes clubs and rehearsals/performances
3) dinner (we have meal-plans)

As much as I can, I try to fill in the spots using bounce lettering (the style of calligraphy I am working on) so I can practice as many letter combos as possible.

Here's a mostly blank page so you can see how it looks before I fill it out:

Thanks for stopping by, I hope this was inspiring!

Essential Oil Labels with Vinyl by Tobi

Hi there! It's Tobi Crawford here and I'm sharing how I label my essential oil custom blends!

I have been using essential oils for over 20 years and one of my favourite things to do is create custom blends for me and my family. I was trying to think of a quick yet easy way to label my amber bottles and was like, DUH! Vinyl!

I used some SRM Vinyl and my electronic cutter to cut out some blend names and small icons.
 - Arthritis
- Headache
- Sleepy Time
- Citrus Pop

Lovely Lace Card by Tobi

Hello!  Tobi joining you today with a lovely lace wedding card.

What is more elegant than lace?
The word "lace" conjures so many words in my mind,
most prominent of which are:
love, wedding, sexy, delicate, sophisticated and classic.

This card embodies all of those words:

I paired black lace with a white doily, and built my card around that. A monotone color scheme keeps this card classic and timeless, and the SRM stickers pair beautifully with all of the other elements.
