Bible Journaling on Romans 12:15 by Christine

Ever have a verse that just sticks out to you for several days.  Romans 12:15 has been in my brain so I decided to art journal it and reflect a little more on putting it into practice!

Life sometimes throws some hard situations that way and although we like to share our art we may not want to share the personal journaling.  This is where SRM's Le Pens come in handy....you can use them on the back side of your cardstock and they don't bleed thru and you don't have to share your feelings with the world.  I did just that for this piece!  I let God's word do the talking to share and reflected on my own on the backside.

I LOVE the Big Faith stamps (and am so excited for the new releases!!!) and The big REJOICE was the focus for my verse.  But I also used several different stamp sets for my doodling!  And added some loops around the edge, also from the Rejoice stamp. 

The Doodle Flowers set is so versatile and worked perfectly for this! After stamping with it - I then used gelatos to add some messy color.  I also used the Life is Good set for my hearts and Springtime for my butterflies.

Bible Journaling by Christine

Hi SRM fans!  Christine joining you today with a chance to share some faith based projects. I was so excited when I heard SRM was coming out with some stamps that are for Bible Journaling.   I haven't got into the journaling directly into the Bible - but I do love to sketch out verses that are meaningful to me and get artistic with those.  Today I have a few to share with you that highlight SRM stamps!  I used gelatos to make all my backgrounds and didn't involve water at all.  

First up I did a page with 1 Corinthians 13:13 and focused especially on the "faith, hope, and love" part using the Words of Faith and BIG Faith Stamps.  I also used a bunch of stamps from the Doodle Flower stamp set - this was a really nice addition to the words!  To create my background I simply did a quick blot from the gelato and then used a sponge to spread it out.

This second one I went a lot bolder with the gelatos and really made the color richer.  The verse came from Psalm 115:18.  I experimented with using extra layers of paper on this one to see how that changed up the coloring and effect (see "Praise the Lord"). I love that about journaling - it allows you to experiment! I used all the same stamp sets but this time created a scene of flowers and really played up the border stamp from the Doodle Flower Stamp Set!

My last page comes from Philippians 4:4 and really focuses on the Big Faith stamp and the heart is from the Life is Good stamp set.   

I know you are going to love these stamps - not only for Bible Journaling but also cards and planners too!  We can't wait to see what you create!

I stamped Jane's Doodles Doodle Flowers stamps and fussy cut them from different shades of pretty paper, then adhered them to the main panel with a hint of White Lace Doily - 4" Round,  Finally, I added a simple twine bow using The Twinery Striped Seaweed Bakers' Twine to embellish one of the blooms.

Hello Chalkboard Card by Lorena

Good morning, friends! Lorena here playing with  the super fun chalkboard markers that SRM carries. They can be used on lots of non porous surfaces... but remember that you can also use them on paper! Today I bring you an easy technique that combines chalkboard markers and stamping. It replicates the look of masking, but without the effort of using a mask. 

First of all, I traced a rectangle in the middle of a stitched die cut panel. That gave me a guide to stamp the flowers and leaves from the Doodle Flowers stamp set. No need to mask, just stamp the whole image.

Once the stamping was done, I went in with the Easy Chalkboard Marker and filled the rectangle I had previously traced. I wanted a whimsical look, so I didn't follow the edges accurately. The marker completely covered the stamped areas I didn't want to show, so I ended up with a perfect floral frame.

Next, I colored the blooms and leaves with watercolor pencils. Remember that with this kind of pencils, the less water you use, the more intense colors you get. When everything was colored, I hand wrote the sentiment in the middle of the chalkboard rectangle using a pencil, and then traced it with the fine tip Bistro Chalk White Marker. I love how bold it looks! Finally, I adhered the focal panel to a card base using foam tape.

Floral Spring Card Set by Lorena and WINNER!

Hi SRM friends! Lorena here with a card set to celebrate all things Spring. I had a lot of fun mixing and matching the different blooms from Jane's Doodles Doodle Flowers stamp set to come up with four different designs, and also decorated one of the lovely A2 clear card boxes to pack the card set.

As I always do when mass producing, I kept the design clean and simple. In this case, I added some interest and texture using patterned paper in the form of paper piecing, foam adhesive and enamel accents. The "Just for you" sentiment makes this card set perfect for any occasion.

Here are the four cards. I added some details with a white gel pen. You could also use a white chalkboard marker for this!

And here's a close up of the set together. Who wouldn't love to receive such a lovely gift?

Elephants Love to Celebrate card by Lorena

Hello there, SRM friends! Lorena here. Have you noticed that elephant stamps are trending lately? They're so cute and perfect for different occasions! For baby, of course, but also for wishing a happy birthday, or for a congratulations card. 

Today, I am sharing a celebratory card with the lovely elephant from the Baby Jungle stamp set.  Love all the darling images from which to choose and also the dot border!

I made a shaped card by die cutting twice a huge tag die from my stash and adhering it together to form the card base. Second, I stamped a green ground for the elephant to stand on, using the polka dot strip from the Doodle Flowers stamp set. I love how cute those polka dots are, and how easy is to stamp a whole background with them in just seconds!  Once I had the ground, I added the sky using watercolors. Nothing fancy here, just brushed some blue watercolor on the card :)

The elephant was paper pieced and then accented a bit with a marker. I cut my own speech bubble using a sticker from Sentiment/Thinking of You and layering it on cardstock. Every elephant needs a speech bubble, right? As one last touch, I wanted to make the sentiment pop. It is originally an outlined font, so I filled in the letters with a black alcohol marker.

Of course, the card wouldn't be finished without a touch of baker's twine. I used the Marigold twine here. I also threw in a few die cut stars to increase the celebratory feeling. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamped Card Set and Kraft Window Box by Cathy H

Hi SRM Fans!  Cathy H here with you today and I have a set of Spring cards created with the new clear stamps that are available from SRM now...Jane's Doodles.  So much fun and all of the sets are just darling!  I used Doodle Flowers on most of the cards I created...the perfect set for Spring and so much more!

I simply stamped the doodle flower image on orange paper, cut it out and added a little yellow flower brad through the center.  Then added the "Just for you" sentiment on a little banner and a fun sticker border from the We've Got Your Border/Thank You set!  Finished with a bow of my favorite Maraschino Baker's Twine.

 For my second card I used the same stamp on orange paper but added a yellow flower sticker and layered it with large Teal scalloped circle punched piece....these are just perfect for adding a punch of color to your projects.  Again finished with my favorite Maraschino Baker's Twine!

My third card features the Life is Good Stamp Set from Jane's Doodles.  How much fun is this set?!?!

 I stamped the strawberry onto pink paper, cut it out and the sweet sentiment onto a banner, then just layered all my pieces together adding a large Orange scalloped circle punched piece for a bit more color.  Again, finished with Maraschino Baker's Twine.

And for my final card I used both sets of stamps, this time stamping on white for the flower and coloring with Distress markers and cutting it out.  Then stamping the sentiment onto pink paper, again layering all this pieces together and adding a large Teal scalloped circle punched piece.  

I decorated one of SRM's new A7 Kraft Window Boxes for my little spring gift set.  So cute and perfect for gift giving.  I added layers of the patterned paper and some chipboard pieces and finished with a Maraschino Twine bow!

Spring Cards by Christine

Is there any better time to work on Spring cards than during a huge Midwest snow storm? I am sitting through one right now and working on these cards definitely warmed me up!  Christine joining you today to share a couple of new spring cards.

I'm still crazy about the gorgeous gold doilies and so I decided to combine them with some pink to spring it up!  I added a flower from the We've Got Your Stickers Plus/Thanks set.  Putting that onto vellum and cutting it out allowed me to keep it from blending in with the whites too much.

A "Happy Spring" circle from the Sentiment/Spring set atop a Small White Punched Piece help make it even more clear what season this is for.  Although with a few color changes and swapping out the stickers you could totally make this into a Valentine's card or for just about any season!

SRM has so many great stamps now from Jane's Doodles - I just had to play with one set for a Spring card.  I chose to use the Doodle Flower Stamp Set.  I stamped with black onto subtle patterned paper.

I then fussy cut the flowers out and layered them onto each other with foam adhesive so I'd have some dimension.  The simple sentiment comes again from the Sentiment/Spring set!  

Sunshine and warmth are on the horizon - in the meantime I'll keep crafting it!
