Little Buddies

It has been really fun to have Dan and Stephanie in town the kids have been able to play together a few times.  This was one of those times.  These two little guys had so much fun with their swards chasing around bell and attacking her.  I had to save her a few times but it was cute.

Not only did they pull out the swards they needed something to ride.  They really had so much fun playing together and mommy, because of that. got TONS done!!!!

Family Home Evening

Sometimes FHE it quite the adventure and well is not the perfect example of FHE....especially at our house.  But this night was one of my favorites!!!  Skyler gave the lesson on ammon and being a missionary and it was so good.  Then we played a little Foosball and made taffy!!  It was a really fun and effective night.  Skyler really liked the cornstarch.

Super Busy But Fun day!!!

Saturday's are always a pretty busy day but it was especially busy this last weekend.  We decided to move around a few things in the house.  One of which was the piano.  With the help with our awesome missionaries we moved the piano downstairs the elliptical upstairs and the love sac upstairs too.  The missionaries loved it because they both play the piano and we love it because we have our good...ol...love sac upstairs along with the elliptical upstairs so I can get with exercising again.  We also hurried and cleaned the yard of all dog waist because well it was starting to snow!!!!

This was the first really good snow that we have gotten in price.  My kids were so excited and they kept saying "Keep snowing, Keep snowing" because daddy said that if it kept snowing he would take them out sledding.  Needless to say despite the fact that daddy is really starting into his busy season we went out sledding.  The kiddos loved, loved, loved it.  The kids were so good before too and finished their chores so they could go out sledding and mommy was so happy because we caught back up our house!!!

No I am not pulling them they are being pulled behind a 4 wheeler.

Risa really got good at stearing her sled and was really proud that she could go down really good on her own.

We went sledding for about 2 hours and it was so much fun.  Mommy did not get so adventurous but it was so super fun to watch them play on the same mountain that I use to go sledding on all the time.  It is a hill that is behind my parents house.  Floods of memories came!!!

Risa looked so cute her hair was frozen by the time we were done.  She reminded me of a little snowboarder!!!

You cant have snow without a little snowball action.

We were all pretty frozen and it was super yummy to have a little bit of hot chocolate and muffins at grandmas

After all of that moving things, cleaning the house, sledding..the kiddos were able to convince their daddy to help them build a snowman.

Seth asked them how they should do the snowman and Skyler said that he wanted to make it a "Missionary Snowman".  So we made a missionary snowman.  What is funny even after all of that I took the kiddos inside and got them clean and ready for bed as Seth was still outside scrapping walks and then he went to the church to take care of a few things for Sunday.  Lets just say we have an awesome husband and daddy at our house.  It was one of the best family fun/work days!!!

Branch Taco Night Minute to Win It!!

We really love the Taco Nights that we have every month.  We have one activity every month and this month the RS were in charge of the night....I was in charge of the activities and Seth gave me the idea to do minute to win it games.  So we got all of fun games together and Seth was the MC.  It was such a fun night. These are some photos from the activity.

This one was my favorite they were so super cute dancing.

The missionary on the right is one of the missionaries that is living in our house.  We have some really great missionaries right now!!

This was the Oreo one.  Marisa tried so hard and she was so close many times.  You have to put an Oreo on your forehead and you have to get it to your mouth without touching it with our hands and using the muscles in your face.  It is pretty fun.  If you want a unique way to eat oreos you should give it a try.

These are some of the amazing ladies in the branch....oh how I love these ladies!!

Amazing weekend and begining of the week!!!

It was so nice on
Friday we went up to Salt Lake and stayed overnight with Dan and Steph.  It was so fun to see them and chat a bit and they were amazing to watch our kiddos while we went to the temple the next morning.  We woke up at about 5:30 and we tried to get out of there fairly early because we had a few family names that before we could go through a session with them we had to get other work done.  We got there with very little time to spare but it was amazing how nice the workers were to get us in even though they were really busy.  I really felt like there was a hand in helping get the work done.
I just have to say how I love going to the temple.....and I now can say how much I love taking my own family names to the temple.  The spirit was so amazing and I am in awe so many times how close I feel to family there especially when doing the work for family members.  But we made it through and were able disperse family names among the branch members and the work for them is almost done...we are only missing the sealings.  It was such an amazing day though and it was the first time in a long time that I went through a session in Spanish. Which was a bit of a challenge but I can't wait until I can go again.  I love the Spanish branch!!

Sunday we had ward conference in the branch and I had so many thoughts as they were speaking.  Pres. Perez talked about the parable of the sower....and I did a little evaluation what kind of sower am I??  and Pres. Potter gave an amazing talk on keeping the commandments and Prayer.  There are so many areas where I can improve but it was really nice to be in church and feel like..."I am so happy to be a member and how blessed to feel the love that my heavenly father has for me.

Latter on I got to talk in RS and well I was a bit nervous because we had the RS stake presidency and also the High Priest over RS in with us.  I started out by trying to translate all of it so i would say it in Spanish and then translate to English....which by the way Seth is amazing at.....but as for myself I am not so good at doing that and having the spirit.  So lets just say after a while of that I stoped translating most of it.  The lord really knows his stuff because then the spirit started flowing and things just started coming!!!  I love teaching maybe it is one of those selfish sort of things but I love the spirit that I get to feel while I teach as the Lord leads my thoughts and what I say.  It is the best!!  One really cool comparison I used as part of the lesson (by the way the lesson was on service) that came to me with help...was the comparison of #911 emergencies and Service.  How when we dial #911 it is because of an emergency and when you call the people that come usually get their fast and not only fast but they are prepared.....and I used the analogy that there are people all around us with #911 over their heads that are in need in some form or another and we should and those coming to their aid know how to react and have the spirit in order to know how to help them (be prepared).  Also if we get feelings that we should help someone not wait just like those who are in a serious emergency if those people were to wait even a day the person may not been in need anymore because they will be gone or on the spiritual side lost.  It was really cool what the Lord taught me Sunday!!!

Monday was a pretty great day for us too.  The missionaries invited us to

with one of the members in the branch and one of their family members that came to live with them are not members.  I was such a great night.  It really brought me back to when we would do FHE with different members and non members in the branch.  It was again another amazing night!!

More random photos about things we have been doing.

This was an activity that we did with the sisters in the branch.  Translated it says "I love you because" and has a line underneath that you can write on with a dry erase marker.  So you can leave little notes.  They all turned out very cute and unique.

Random photo from my phone..

Marisa was at Miranda's bridal shower and for one of the games she was the model.  I love the dress!!

Cooking Time!!!

We have added a few new fun recipes to the family favorites and well the kiddos really especially love one of them.  7 Layered Jello!!!  It takes a while to make but it is something that the kids can do and they love the results.  Each one got to take turns doing a layer.  These are my little chef's

This photo just makes me smile!!!  I love those chops!!!
I know this is not much to look at but this is another one of our new fav's of recipes that we don't do all of the time but it is yummy.  The original recipe was shrimp Portafino but we changed it up to be chicken.  But it has chicken, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms and you put it over rice.  I know not much to look at but super yummy!!!!

And the end results of the Layered Jello!!!!.........
...............
...............
...............
I know that you want some!!!  The Creamy looking layer has Vanella yogart mixed in the jello.  We even made home made whipped topping.

We were all pretty happy with the results.

We even made some for the missionaries and put it in their fridge....I felt bad though because they were on splits with the other missionaries so only one of the ones that lives with us got to enjoy every seven layers...lol  :D

By the way if anyone wantes either of those recipies I can totally share!!!  :D

New Happeneings for the New Year at the Oveson's House!!!

Well the Oveson's have had a few changes happen at our house.....fairly big ones:

Seth went to a Leadership meeting and at the meeting they asked if anyone had room for the missionaries at their house.  Which was kind of funny because we cleaned out the downstairs room because Seth's cousin was debating moving in with us so we got that room all ready.  Well he decided that he was just going to live at home and we left that room empty.  So when Seth was at this meeting he felt like we should let them know that we had the room.  We felt that it would be an amazing experience for our kids to see the missionaries so much so we decided to do it.  Seth sent the email and we did not hear anything back for a few months.  Then out of the blue we got a phone call saying that they wanted to come and see the room and the space.

The missionaries moved in this last week.  I have not been able to snatch a photo but when I do I will post it!

That is not the only fun change that has happened at the oveson's we are now expecting another little oveson the end of June beginning of July!!  We are so super excited and feel so happy and blessed!!!  Who does not love new and exciting news!!
