Man Plans......

In preparation for National Craft Month, which begins tomorrow, I've decided that I'm going to plan EVERYTHING out this year.  I have themes and dates picked out ahead of time.  I have stacks of patterned paper selected.  I've tested ink pads.  I've got ideas.

Wonder how this is gonna go?

I did a little digging in my blog history.  I've been doing this every March since 2015.  Boy, has my style changed over the years, and I'm not entirely sure it's for the better.  It is what it is though, right?

I sometimes hate that term, btw.

The past few years I've hit a few creative snags.  My hope is that everything goes smoothly this year.

Semi-smoothly.

I just wanna make and post at least 31 cards.

Is that too much to ask??

I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Happy Thursday!  It's so cold out today, which is a real horse of a different color after the record cold two weeks ago and the fifties over the weekend!  Michigan and it's insane, schizophrenic weather!  Anyways, I'm missing sundresses and flip flops, so I made a mermaid card.  SIDENOTE I love Cricut holographic vinyl.  SO.  MUCH.

STAMPtember - Day Thirty - Lookout for Wonder

Happy Monday!!  I cannot believe this month is over already!!!  It's been a whirlwind, that's for sure!  Lots of new stamps may or may not have come into my craft room over the past thirty days, and I've definitely gotten some great cards made.  I just love this time of year because it's fall which means Halloween and my birthday and CHRISTMAS!!  My favorite season lemme tell ya. STAMPtember - Day Twenty-Four - Up Where They Walk.....

....Up where they run, up where they stay all day in the sun....sorry got off on a tangent there.  The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies and Ariel has always been one of my most favorite princesses, second only to Belle.  I really think I'd like to make a set of these, but this is a good start.

For the Love of Unity Day One - Mermaid Shake

So the last few years, I was part of Unity Stamp Company's Growing in Unity program, to promote their stamps and share the love for their awesome designs.  I'm not a part of that this year, but I still wanted to make a bunch of cards with their amazing stamps and devote a week of my blog to their amazingness.  So this year I'm calling it For the Love of Unity and today is Day One.

Free Floating - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post

Happy Tuesday!!  It's time for my latest Brea Reese brand ambassador post, and yes, it's another mermaid project!!!  I'm so into them this year!!!  The idea for this card actually began from a piece of scrap paper I'd been watercoloring on top of.  The colors had seeped out in a sort of messy striping and I just loved how it looked!!  I used my artsy best friend, Brea Reese Glitter Inks for the background, and colored the card with the Glitter Inks, Watercolor Inks, Fineliner Pens and Glitter Water Brushes!

I didn't want really defined stripes, so I painted all the Lake Blue stripes first.  Then I filled in the spaces with Ultramarine Blue and semi-blended them together with Liquid Glitter.  That stuff is incredible!  The Sea Creatures die cuts were colored with Glitter Inks as well.

I'd Rather Be A Mermaid - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Tuesday!!  It's time for my latest Brea Reese brand ambassador post, and since I feel summer is starting to slip away from me, I made a mermaid card!!  Ya'all know I love mermaids!!  I created my awesome oceany background by first applying White Texture Paste through a stencil to watercolor cardstock.  I let it dry and then painted over it with my favorite product, Glitter Inks!!

I used Ultramarine Blue and Lake Blue to create the ocean.  I didn't want a real clear blend between the colors, and I drug my paintbrush across the watercolor paper in a kind of scalloped pattern to create the look of crashing waves.

The mermaid I colored with Alcohol Markers, primarily the Jewel set.  I used heavyweight cardstock so the markers would blend like butter.  Love these!
