So Sweet and Thoughtful - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post

Hi everyone!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, with a watercolored fruit card.  I've been really into lemons this year, in my decor and of course in my crafting.  I wanted to play around with my new Watercolor Pencils so I picked this fun and fruity image to work with.  The pencils come in two color groups, Jewel and Classic.  I used colors from both for this card.  When using watercolor pencils, I like to color the outlines and scribble in the center, blend with a water brush, then layer darker colors.  For the sentiment strip, I scribbled the pencil all over but then got called away and didn't blend it right away.  The lines didn't blur as much once the pencil had some time to set, giving me some awesome texture that mimicked clouds.  I can tell I'm going to be using these pencils a lot.

And we have some exciting news to share!!  Brea Reese products are now being sold at Target!!  There are some fabulous gift sets and they're the perfect way to jump into Brea Reese if you haven't already!!

Be sure to check out the Classic Watercolor Pencils and all the other Brea Reese products!!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

I Feel Lucky - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post

Hi everyone!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, sharing a lovely lucky card!  I wanted to make a green card that referenced St. Patrick's Day without actually being a St. Patrick's Day card.  Make sense?

First I created my background panel.  I thought of it as painting a rainbow, but all in shades of greens.  I used a combination of the shades in the Jewel and Classic Professional Watercolors and the Core Colors Watercolor Pan sets.  Then I took a scrap of Watercolor Paper and just literally dropped blobs of all the shades of green watercolor onto it, letting them blend and flow.  After it dried I stamped the shamrocks and fussy-cut them out.  I love how the different shades make them look almost glowy in spots.

Be sure to check out the Core Colors Watercolor Pan and all the other Brea Reese products!!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

Hello Peony - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, sharing a bright and happy Hello card!!!  I used the Peony Paper Pad for my backing and cut the card fronts into strips to create interest.  I layered five Hello die cuts to create dimension.  I love that technique to make a sentiment die stick out.  The Hello Fetti die set has several great sentiments for cards.

I love how this card turned out with this paper.  I'm going to be using it a lot as spring approaches and all this snow starts to melt!!

I like to create in multiples :D

Just Because - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Wednesday!!  I've got a new Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, featuring the You're Invited Stamp & Embossing Folder set.  I love to make piles of quick cards to have a the ready.  These came together so quickly, but I just love how they turned out.  I used the Watercolor Paper Pad to make my card fronts and the die cut center with the sentiment.  Super easy and fun.

I made three in each color.  Since the paper is has a watercolor look, they all turned out differently.

I worked in shifts, cutting all my layers first, then embossing, inking and then stamping the die cut circles last.

Floral Thanks - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!!

Hi everyone!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, with a ton of fun thank you cards!!  I'm finding more and more that I don't have enough of them when I need them, so I wanted to build up an arsenal!  I couldn't really decide what I wanted to watercolor my cards with, so I used tons of different supplies!  Lemme show you all the cards together first, then I'll break down what I used for each one.

I wanted to just sit and color for a few hours, so I started out by stamping a ton of floral backgrounds and while they dried, I die cut the word "thanks" from watercolor paper.  Then I was able to color a coordinating sentiment to go with every background.

I wanted this one to be subtle, so all I did to the background was paint the outline flowers with Liquid Glitter.  I just love how they shimmer and shine.  The sentiment was painted with Watercolor Ink first, then I painted Liquid Glitter over the top.

This one is actually one of my favorites!!  I made the background paper for this one, too, with Violet Glitter Ink and Gold Liquid Metals.  The flowers are painted with Metallic Watercolor Pan set.

This one's pure Watercolor Ink, very little water.  It's so vibrant!!

I used the Jewels Professional Watercolors for this one.  I love how the colors blended.

For a different look I only painted the leaves here.  I used Watercolor Ink for them and for the sentiment.

I had a ton of fun with this one.  The silver flowers were painted with watered down Silver Liquid Metals.  I mixed the same Silver with Magenta and Pink Watercolor Ink for the other flowers.

This one is pure Watercolor Ink.  Love purple and that almost-teal green together.

I had a lot of fun with this one.  It's colored with Watercolor Ink and Glitter Ink.  I really love how the flowers pop against that blue background.

This one I painted with the Classics Watercolors Set.

This I spotlight painted with Pink and Magenta Glitter Ink.

These are a combination of Watercolor Ink mixed with Silver Liquid Metals and the Metallic Watercolor Pan.

Time to fill a few of these out and get them in the mail!  Be sure to check out the Liquid Metals and all the other Brea Reese products!!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

Lovely Trio - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, sharing a trio of LOVE cards!!!  As we approach Valentine's Day, I like to make love-themed cards that don't have to be romantic.  I especially like the idea of Galentine's Day, celebrating close friendships between women.  I figured these cards all worked for several occasions.  I had a blast using the Heavy Body Acrylic Paints to create my marbled backgrounds for my heart die cuts.  I did a lot of blending with a palette knife and the following colors: Silver, Gold, Titanium White, Cadmium Red, Crimson, Rose and Magenta.  If you're new to Heavy Body Acrylics, you might try the Jewels or Brights sets, they give you smaller tubes of each shade so you can jump in and see what colors are your favorites.

The close-ups of each card help you see the marbled detail.  It's so much fun to play around with the paint to see what kinds of results you get.  They'll never be the same twice.

Floral LOVE - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, and since Valentine's Day is next week, I wanted to make a LOVE card.  I really love sending love you cards all year long, anyway.  It's something to be celebrated.

I started with the Intricate Floral Love Cutting Template.  I was playing around with cutting it out of different Momenta papers when I realized I wanted to layer a few of them to create this card.  I used both the Watercolor Metallic and the Watercolor pads for this layered shaker design.

DREAM - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, with an inspirational card.  The first word that came to mind was "DREAM" so that's what I went with!  I've been so excited to play with my Tropical Love Resist Paper Pad.  I blended colors from both the Jewel Watercolor Set and the Classics set to create this background.  I just love how vibrant the colors are!!

If you haven't used a resist pad before, I'll explain how awesome they are.  These pads are made of watercolor paper with a pre-embossed design on them.  When color is added (I chose to use the Classics and Jewel watercolor sets but any water-based medium will work!), the embossed design resists the color.  I did take a wet paper towel and wipe the excess color off the embossed design after my ink dried, and it REALLY made the images pop!!

The letters I cut using Handwritten Uppercase Alphabet dies from Momenta, out of plain black cardstock.  The camera doesn't really show it but I painted it with three coats of Liquid Glitter. It's super shimmery in person!!

Happy Hello - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Thursday!!  I've got a new Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, with some happy HELLO cards!  Even though we're about to get buried in a winter storm, I'm already thinking about spring!  The Peony Paper pad is perfect for spring projects.  I used it as my base for these cards, and added black cardstock and the Hello Cutting Template to finish them.

You'll notice one of the cards doesn't have the wreath around the Hello.  I shared that card too to show that even mistakes can make pretty cards.  When I was die-cutting my sentiments, I forgot to tape one of them down and the wreath was only half cut.  I cut the rest of the wreath off with scissors and I actually really like how it looks!  Plus it makes that die a two-fer, maybe even a three-fer.  I could probably use the wreath without the "hello" attached, too.

Our Own Beauty - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, celebrating National Hat Day!  I myself am not a big hat-wearing person, but I really wish I was!  I always love trying them on, but they just never look like "me", so I wanted to make a card celebrating someone gutsy enough to wear one!

So ya'all know I looooove my Glitter InksViolet, Ultramarine Blue and Lake Blue blended horizontally created the wintery background.  Now my stamped die cuts, I used lots of different products to color them.  Oh but first, I custom-colored my ribbon!  I used Violet Glitter Ink to tint my ribbon.  I used water to lighten the ink in spots, to create an ombre look.  This is a technique I haven't done in awhile but I think I should do it more often!

The sentiment tag, I colored first with the Metallic Watercolor Pan set, then I dropped on some Ultramarine Blue Glitter Ink while it was still wet so it would blend and wick, creating a bit of an icicle effect.  The girl was colored with the same watercolor set, except for the background which I painted first with Liquid Glitter and then blended Lake Blue Glitter Ink over it.  Metallic Brights Pens were used to add detail to her gloves and the snow.

I know it's hard to see in photos but this card just sparkles and shimmers, it's so pretty.

Happy Hump Day!!  And happy 2019!!  It's my first Momenta Brand Ambassador post of the year, and I've got a winter card for you!  I like to send greetings all through the season.  I used one of my favorite paper pads, Metallic Watercolor for my main imagery, letting the sentiment sticker just accent the background.  I really love these Christmas vellum stickers, there's a nice assortment of sentiments on one sheet!

DecemberCraftChallenge.jpg

Today's theme is #FavoriteHolidayMovie and of course, mine is Elf!!  I knew I wanted to make tags so I grabbed some stamps from my stash and started watercoloring!

The first thing I did was watercolor my backgrounds.  I like to blend colors, so working with a combination of the Jewels Professional Watercolors and Classics Professional Watercolors sets for my backgrounds.  I blended some of the watercolors with Glitter Inks and Liquid Glitter.  I set them aside to dry for awhile and colored my sentiment background and the Elf legs and hats with the same watercolors.  (And yes I had the movie on while I made these!)  I used a waterbrush and the same watercolors to color in all the bells and let that dry again.  After the backgrounds dried, I took the Metallic Neutrals Pens and colored the ribbons on the bells.  If you use these pens last they're much brighter than if you watercolor over them.  I want to add that if you haven't tried these pens, you must.  You get a fine point and a brush in each shade which is awesome.

Woodsy Winter -- Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Hump Day!!  I've got another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, and I'm playing along again with the #MerryAndBrightChallenge!  Today's fun theme is #WoodlandCreatures and I instantly knew I collage together various die cut reindeer and trees to create a scene.  I also used my brand new Snowflake and Deer embossing folder set on the background!  After embossing a piece of watercolor cardstock twice with the Snowflake folder, I colored it with various shades of blue and grey from the Brea Reese Jewels and Classics Professional Watercolor Sets.

If you missed out on the first few days of the #MerryAndBrightChallenge, here's all the scoop on what's coming up!

Now, back to what I made!

I used a few different paper pads to create this card. I always think the paper is the star of the show!  The Metallic Ink paper pad was what I used for the main scenic image.  I added in extra trees cut from the Abstract Marble and Watercolor paper pads to make everything pop.

It's already so much fun!!!

Since today's theme is #WinterGreenery I decided I wanted to use a bunch of die cuts to create a festive card.  I used some new items that are only available at Walmart Canada right now, and mixed them in with some Brea Reese and Momenta favorites.  I started with a piece of the new Watercolor Paper and embossed with the woodgrain folder from the Fall Cut and Embossing Folder Set.  I then colored it with Brown watercolor from the Classics Professional Watercolors set.  I die cut a couple of pinecones from the same Momenta die set watercolor paper, and after embossing them, I colored them with a mixture of the same Brown watercolor I used on the background and Brown Watercolor Creams.  I gathered various scraps I had of paper watercolored with Glitter Inks, Watercolor Inks and scraps from various Momenta paper pads, then die cut them with greenery dies.  I layered everything together and added a bow to finish it off.

Spread Color - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, and today I have a colorful mixed media peacock card!  I've been in a very artsy type of mood lately, and I was going to go a completely different way with this card when a friend mentioned a "marbled acrylics" technique she'd recently started doing.  Basically you scoop up Artist Acrylic Paint with a palette knife and just start spreading the colors around on regular cardstock.  I loved it from the minute I tried it.  Every single one comes out differently, and you never know how the colors are going to blend.  I wanted some shimmer so I did drip Liquid Glitter onto my paints before picking them up with the knife.  Such a cool technique!

The border piece of cardstock, I did the marbling technique on a piece of black cardstock.  The popped up accent piece that the sentiment and peacock are on was obviously blended on white cardstock.  See how all the colors blend to make new ones?  Love it!  You'll be seeing this from me again in the future!

The peacock is colored with my favorite coloring medium, Glitter Inks.  In person she just jumps off the card at you, she's so sparkly. The sentiment tag is colored with the same colors of Glitter Ink.

Foil Love - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Hump Day!!  I've got another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today using a new-to-me product, Wood Tags!  I'm a big tag person and I just knew these would make adorable love-themed cards.  They come with gold glitter on the bottom third, and it's the high-quality kind that doesn't come off.  I thought they would pair really well with the Watercolor Foil paper pad, and they really did.  I finished them off with the Glitter Stickers and voila!  Two quick and easy cards that don't look like they only took five minutes to make!

(foil is sooooo hard to photograph!)

So Very Blessed - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, sharing a Thanksgiving card!!  I like sort of non-traditional sentiments and such, and this card completely fits that bill.  I apologize that it's hard to see the Glitter Inks that I used on the leaves.  It's soooo hard to photograph shimmery things!!!  The background is mildly shimmery as well, I created it with a blend of the Watercolor Inks and Gold Liquid Metal. I cannot stress enough how amazing the Liquid Metals are, you need these in your studio!!

Radiate Sunshine! - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post

Happy Friday!!  I've got another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today using one of my favorite Momenta paper pads, Watercolor Splash.  It's been so gloomy here the past few days, I wanted to will the sun to come out!! On top of the cardstock I layered one of the foil doilies.  I love how they catch the light.  The vellum sticker sentiment is Momenta as well.  I adhered it to the same watercolor cardstock and popped up the center sentiment part for interest.

Floating Bats - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Tuesday!!  It's time for my latest Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post, and I'm still in the Halloween mode!  I wanted a really shimmery dimensional background for this card, so I pulled out my Gold Modeling Paste and put it through a Halloween stencil.  I love this stuff because it has kind of a smooth finish when it dries, but when you put the Glitter Inks over it, it becomes more textured and sparkly.  I blended Cadmium Red, Crimson, Medium Magenta, Orange and Cadmium Yellow over the dried background, and it just came to life.  I felt like the die cut sentiment grounded everything and made the bats stand out.

Dream, Wish, Hope - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, and since today is World Mental Health Day, I thought it was important to make an inspirational card!!  We all struggle and we all need encouragement now and then!

I used my go-to paper, Watercolor Splash, for my card base and my die cut words.  The Hope Wordfetti dies were perfect for the encouraging sentiments I wanted.  I used the Watercolor Doily to make the words pop.
