I did a resist technique for my background with watercolor paper and Distress Inks. I couldn't find my craft sheet so I just smooshed the pads onto a plastic bag and sprayed it with water! The embossing resisted the ink and I could dip my paper or drag it across the wet ink multiple times until I got the look I desired.
