Wilson Designs April Release Day 2!

Today I am highlighting the large heart shaped diamond in Kim's new set.  Isn't this a fabulous image?!  And what with the re-release of the movie Titanic, I can't help but to be humming along to the theme song right now as this stamp reminds me of the necklace in the movie.

I used varying shades of blue to stamp the image three times and then detail cut them and pop them up on foam tape.  Bling from Want2Scrap adorns the centers in coordinating colors and also as a backdrop to these pretty hearts.  I'm thinking wedding card on this one.

Ready for more inspo from the girls? Stay tuned in this week for inspiration every day from the DT Dolls and WD Stamps!
and don't forget me ;)
I hope you plan on hopping along and leaving comments for all of the designers each day to up your chances of winning this cute set that releases on friday. Good luck and thanks for coming by!

Just Us Girls #125... buttons and ribbon and flowers, oh my!!

For my Wilson Designs release post, click here!

This week Lisa is challenging us to make a template based on 3D project and you must also incorporate ribbon, button(s) and flower(s).

This week I chose to use the super cute milk carton template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  Kelleigh is my go to gal for templates and I have enjoyed a good long run as a creative team member for her since spring of 2009!  I am bidding a fond adieu to my post on the creative team....it's time for me to move over for the sizzlin' new members of Kelleigh's team!  So excitedc for them as they embark on the next creative chapter with their fearless leader, Kelleigh!  Kelleigh, it's been SO great!  Thanks for finding me and taking me on the journey so far. *sniff*  Love you, girlie!

Are you ready for some challenge fun?  Check out the girls...

Just Us Girls #122 sketch.....I love you like a {love song}, baby!

Hey friends!  Just Us Girls are back with a sketch for you this week.  Based on my post earlier about Wilson Designs Stamps, I had to keep the WD love going with a card using Let's Rock.

I stamped up some suh-weet vinyl using versamark ink and clear embossing powder on Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow paper.  Hey notice something off about this card?  Well it's kinda hard to read the record label on an angle like that.....

Hold up!  The record SPINS!  *grin* revealing the surprise photo!

Couldn't really resist making this record spin and I can't wait to try this technique on future cards using this stamp set.

Another detail on this card is the sweet lyrics I cut from a thrifted piece of sheet music.  I love when things just work like that.

One more shot from the gratuitous "vinyl" cam and then it's off to a ton of sketch inspiration from the girls of Just Us Girls!
and our super duper talented guest designer for February, Cheri of Stamp'n Boomer!

That's all kids!  Thanks a million for stopping by and I do hope you'll join us for some Just us Girls fun!

Just Us Girls #121 valentine's themed template/3D...LoveBirdHouse...and announcement and the WINNER!

Hello love birds!  February is looming which brings the pink and red out in me....this week the Just Us Girls gang is challenging you to make a 3D/template project with a valentine's theme.

Recently on a room clean up with my daughter's we came upon a wood birdhouse that she was done with.  I asked {ok, begged a little} could I PLEASE have it for valentine's day?  I have this idea of making holiday houses and when these cute alterable plain wood "birdhouses" come along in so many cute designs and for right around a dollar each at Michaels, only time and inspiration can hold me back!  In this case, I just recycled an old project of my daughter's!

I pumped up the roof with some gorgeous red and pink BUTTONS to serve as shingles and cute trims and papers to finish off the sides and back of the house!

Speaking of BUTTONS...I have an exciting announcement to share...I was invited to join the amazing crafters of the Buttons Galore and More Button Bevy design team!!!!  I am thrilled to be a part of the Bevy and I can't wait to share my button projects with you in the coming months!

A girl could go wild using red, pink, white and hearts ya know? And you know I couldn't resist red glitter glue to outline the heart-shaped door right?!

This LoveBirdHouse is right at home among the pink and red on our sideboard cabinet.

Now it's your turn!  Check out the inspiration from Just Us Girls:
Guest Designer for January...the talented Kylie Kueter!

and one last piece of info....the winner from my MME paper giveaway is
comment #22!

Valentine's Day...It's a Wrap!

It's a wrap!  Valentine's Day 2011 has made it's mark and the sugar will linger on for a least a couple more days!  I hope you celebrated the loves in your life yesterday.  I contributed my own variety of sweet treats to the day with the frosted sugar cookies above :)  Next up, a card by request...

I created this simple and graphic card with heart punched, foam tape, cardstock I straight-line embossed, a bit of ribbon and some sweet sentiments from Stampin Up!

Keeping it clean and graphic for the men folk in our lives...don't know about yours, but the guys I know don't always appreciate doilies, glitter and scrunched seam binding! ;)
The guys I know like a clean uncluttered message ....I think the above says it all.  No more needed then to tell your sweetheart that they mean everything to you!

Next stop, a downtown stroll in the rain to a favorite local bakery...

Downtown Petaluma's very own Bovine Bakery!  Couldn't you fancy yourself sitting for a spell on this sweet street?  My kiddos had yesterday off of school, so while my eldest enjoyed a high tea with friends around the corner at Jacqueline's High Tea, my littlest and I hung out with my mom and the sweet gals at the Bovine for a while.

There might have even been a baking lesson to be had....
mmmmmm...a custom sugar cookie for Shelby!

We took home some of our favorite morning buns too!

Aren't these valentines just the cutest....even when they are a little hopped up on sugar, hot chocolate and perhaps a few stolen sips of mom's coffee (shelby!)....

have a goodie today!

Stitch up a little love....

Hey sweet friends!  I'm here to share a little project I made to inspire the needlework of eleven 4-H girls today!  It  all started with a pile of fabric two days ago...

I had a fabulous night cutting and prepping project kits for my 4-H kids while hanging out with some of the craftiest gals in my area, including my dear friend Elise of Mamacow Creations, and etsy seller BeachFleaMarket...Anne has wonderful collage pieces and supplies in her etsy shop so if that's your thing, you gotta check her out.  At the end of the night, I had a pile of goodies to hand out today to me little seamstresses in the making....

Felt, ribbon, lace and handmade pins OH MY!  Plus the cutest little sewing kits in 4-H green!

Fun huh?  I thoroughly enjoyed stitching up this inspiration piece.  The kids always have license to strike out on their own design wise and I am always enchanted and impressed by their individuality as they get their craft on!

These two delightful valentines are Emilly on the left (her mama is Stacey of Motivated Me) and my own Shelby on the right!

And little Mamacow Creations shows off her creative stuff!  She obviously doesn't fall far from the creative tree, huh?

Flowers and yo-yos and corsage pins oh my!  Every now and again, I need to sew something ya know?

Thanks for stopping by!
