Just Us Girls #68....{you're sweet}

Hey friends!  Saturday and a new challenge with Just Us Girls has arrived!  This week the lovely Lisa has challenged us to make a 3-D/template project with a Love theme.

Gotta say, I am a sucker for all the hearts and lovey dovey sentiments in the holiday aisle this time of year.  Lovey dovey schmoopsy whoopsy...yep, just LOVE it all.  For this challenge I chose to LOVE mother earth by upcycling a treat container that was just crying out to be dressed up with the colors of St Valentine's Day.
This tall aluminum canister was easily dressed up with paper doilies, an SCAL cut file lable by Kelleigh Ratzlaff called Doodle Labels and Frames as well as a scalloped edge from Scalloped Borders.   I added fun little homespun touches like a fabric heart yo-yo, seam binding trim, heart buttons and a seamstress pin to hold my punched and stamped message of "you're sweet".  I can't wait to fill this canister with treats for my sweet.

We'd LOVE it if you joined us for this sweet challenge this week.  The Just Us Girls designers have outdone themselves again along with guest designer, Carla Suto.  THanks so much for stopping by today!

City Crafter Challenge #16...Sweet!

Hey there!  I had to jump in with a *sugary* project for the City Crafters Challenge blog this week.
A simple little tag to coordinate with my gift bag.  I used a stamp from My Cute Stamps Sweet Kawaii set and the sentiment is from Practicing Creativity.

So glad you could stop by today!

Tuesday Trigger Time to Chillax.....UR Cool!

Looking for my Just Us Girls card?  Please click HERE
Time to CHILLout, relax, be COOL!  Summer is arriving finally in my neck of the woods and I could not resist the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger inspiration to celebrate warm days and COOL treats.  I made this tag for my daughter's friend who is celebrating the big #6 today!  Here's the moxie fab trigger...

YUM!  I couldn't wait to pull out the super duper cute Sweet Kawaii stamp set from My Cute Stamps to make my birthday package tag.
Fun huh?  I stamped my background paper randomly with the happy little ice pop trying not to overlap and crowd the little guys too much.  THEN the ICE-ing on the tag, the rainbow colored pop who takes center stage!  I stamped the image with black Staz on so the ink wouldn't smear once I started color blending over the top of the image with tempting turquoise, green galore and only orange from Stampin up!
Hmmm...was anything missing?
Oh wait, this guy needs SHINE because he might be melting a little on a warm day.....
Yeah baby!  A little glossy accents gives this pop some POP!  hee hee!
Here he is in action on the gift my daughter and I wrapped this morning.  Can I tell you how much fun teaching a 6 year old how to curl ribbon with scissors is??  Alot of fun, actually, once I got over the fear she would cut off a finger or two!  She's way COOLer than me! ;)

Supplies:
Paper: Stampin Up!, CM and Papertrey
Ink: Stampin Up!
Stamps: My Cute Stamps, Papertrey Ink
Punch: SU! and nestabilities oval

Just Us Girls 35 wild card + TESC114 + Shabby Tea Room + City Crafters {Tea Party}

Hey blog friends!  TIme for some more challenge fun with Just Us Girls.  This week is wild card and that means it's hostess choice.  Our amazing Alicia has chosen dry embossing as the challenge this week.  So fire up those embossing folders, light boxes, stylus pens and get embossing with us!

I also took inspiration from the Taylored Expression sketch, the Shabby Tea Room polka dot tea party, and the City Crafters recipe challenge (one ribbon, 3 flowers and 2 papers).  Check out the inspo pictures:

I came up with this:

Tea Party indeed!  I used two new delicious papers; one from October Afternoon's thrift shop line and one from Webster's Pages Life Portraits line.  I picked them up in the coolest papercraft store I know in my area....a veritable wearhouse full o paper and other goodies.  If you are ever in Berkeley, CA you simply must check out Scrapbook Territory!  I'm telling you, it's a papercrafters DREAM!  Your first step inside the doorway will tell you that you have arrived...you will SMELL all the newly minted papers...oh yum and your eyes will behold the shelves and shelves of all things stamp and scrap.

Now Alicia has challenged us to dry emboss this week over at Just Us Girls.  I used a cuttlebug folder (damask) on the ivory circle printed with the teacup from the Graphics Fairy and, I don't know if this counts as embossing but what it does count as in my book is COOL!  I am referring to the decorative ornate corner in the upper right of the card.  I made it with sculpy clay and I am SOOOOO excited because I have been envying the Melissa Frances elements that pop up all over and now I can make something similar myself with a little clay and not *hoard* them because I only have one! ;)  you know what I mean right?  LOL!  Please tell me I'm not the only one who finds it hard to use your favorites?

Ready for more from the JUGs girls?  Check them out!  Also, we bid a fond farewell to our two guest designers this month, Teresa and LeAnne.  They have been an amazing addition to our team for the month of May.  Thank you, ladies!

Thanks so much for stopping by here.  It always makes my day to read your sweet comments and your words of encouragement.  Have a great day!

Get Sketchy Trash to Treasure Challenge....{Sweet and Sassy 6!}

Happy December 29th!  Today my baby turns SIX!  I can't believe it!

Here she is.....six, sweet and sassy all wrapped up in a cute little package :)  And what better way to celebrate then a custom card just for the birthday girl?  I was inspired by the gals at Get Sketchy to make trash into treasure!  I chose a pants pocket flap I salvaged off a pair of my little girls' capris from last summer.

See it?  It's up top complete with some machine stitching to my card and a ribbon bow laced through the button hole.  Lots of cute DP from KI  Memories go great with the print on the piece of fabric.

The three larger flowers are stickers from the same KI line.  I created some depth with foam squares behind a few of the pieces.  Lots of punches on this card too!  The orange bling is courtesy of clear mini craft gems and a layer of orange alcohol ink.

Pretty fun!  And so my little girl right now!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope your day is also SWEET and SASSY!

A fond farewell....Sweet thoughts of you

*sigh* parting is such sweet sorrow....Today marks the final day of my term as a My Cute Stamps design team member.  *sniff*  Not all is lost though, no, in fact SO MUCH has been gained.  Wonderful new blog friends, a much increased inventory of MCS stamps to create with :) , a stash of *cute* greetings to share with my friends and family and the list goes on and on.  A huge THANK YOU to Holly Brooke Jones for giving me the opportunity to work with her lovely stamps.  She puts the *cute* in My Cute Stamps for sure!

In honor of this momentus occasion, I thought I'd stamp with the MCS stamp that started it all for me.  This adorable mug of something yummy...(my take is hot chocolate) from the Sweet Chocolate set is what caught my eye and drew me to the MCS website last spring.  The love affair has only gotten *sweeter*since.  This time I used a rectangle nestabilities die to cut and mask the inner panel.  I sprayed suede glimmer mist from tattered angels over the rectangle of white CS concentrating the mist a little heavier in the corners so it would seep like spilled hot cocoa!  If you click on the picture you should be able to catch the glimmer and also the shimmery whipped cream dollop on top.

Thanks so much for coming by today.  If you orginally came to my blog via My Cute Stamps, I have so enjoyed having you visit and getting to know you.  Come back anytime...I'll still be stamping with my *cute* stamps! :)

Thankful...for you!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I have so many blessings in my life and so many loved ones to celebrate.  I am grateful and humbled.

A little something to share today using My Cute Stamps Owl-o-ween set and the Tea Party set.  Have you ever noticed that the bare tops of jar candles are just begging to be papercrafted?  Well, they are and they do it so well!  The pumpkin from Owl-o-ween easily works as a thanksgiving pumpkin and the sweet bird from Tea Party is the perfect size for a tiny tag.  This dressed up jar candle is going to Thanksgiving dinner with us today for my sweet hostess with the mostest.

Here's wishing us all a day of blessings....

SPCC#24 .....You're Sweet!

Hello sweet friends!  Coming to you live from sick central!  Ack!  The littlest and I have been laying low this week with nasty colds which is a total bummer anytime but especially coming off of the BEST birthday weekend ever!  I am behind on all kinds of things but one of the most important things on the to do list is to get some thank yous out to some very special friends and family who know how to make a girl feel like a princess!  To get in the thank you groove, a little card using the Sweet Kawaii set from My Cute Stamps and a smashing color combo from SPCC #24!

Now these colors could quite easily serve in the Christmas card capacity...but I saw cherries...go figure?!  Must be all the cold meds and the attitude of thanks I have going right now ;)

Doesn't the MCS cherry stamp go great with the October Afternoon cherry paper?  I also *needed* some vintage looking red and cream DP for the top of the card.  What?!  There isn't any in the October Afternoon DP book of paper.  Hmmmm...well, I'm an industrious girl, I'll just stamp some!  That delish red and cream stamped paper was made using the gorgeous Motif stamp set from Cora at Clearly Vintage. Yum!  The perfect paper for my card.    I also inked, buttoned, pen stitched and embossed to my hearts content.

And finally, a great big "you're sweet" shoutout to all of my friends who left me sweet birthday wishes.  You all are the best!  What a wonderful birthday weekend!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's a *cute* Winter Wonderland

Winter is in the air where I live today.  Gray skies and rain showers all around...just the way I like it :)  This little guy smells winter in the air too!  Recognize him?  He's from the Little Forest Friends set at My Cute Stamps.  His little feet must be frozen in that pile of glittery snow!  For a snow like effect, I like to pile on the chunky irridescent glitter.

By whipping up a handcut scarf, stamping the leafy branch as the frame of a handcut christmas tree, and  turning flowers into holiday tree toppers, this cute set has gone from everyday theme to winter holiday!  I added a hand-written (eeek!) sentiment keeping it whimsical like the stamps...not, eh hem, because I have childlike cursive! *wink*

I added a little dimension to the snowy hill and trees by using foam tape.  Love that stuff!

I'm so glad you stopped by today!  Come again tomorrow for some more wintery fun from me....The Just Us Girls challenge DT will be showing you projects inspired by a super fun sketch from Maria.  Don't miss out on the latest and greatest challenge from Just Us Girls!

My heart flips for you...

Just a little expression of L-O-V-E today.  No frills no fluff just *cuteness* from My Cute Stamps and the Circus Animal set.  This set has so many wonderful animal and sentiments in it making it perfect for birthday cards, baby cards, a scrapbook page and now, a card to say I love you :)

The sweet seal image has been watercolored and detail cut before layering it onto the circus bucket included in the set.  I stamped the "for you" sentiment onto the bucket by curving it onto my acrylic block so it would fit the curve of the bucket when stamped.  A hand held mini hole punch and white sharpie pen add fun details to the scalloped red matting circle.

So glad you stopped by today.  Come back soon for a fun halloween project using Kelleigh Ratzlaff's latest template.  You won't want to miss it!

Punch: SU! and fiskars
Tools: Coluzzle and cricut

{Just} for you....JUGs 2 challenge and cps136!

Hi bloggers!  It's time for the Just Us Girls challenge!  After a trial run last weekend, Kristen and Pam and the whole team has worked to develop a new challenge site for weekly inspiration.  AND, we really want you to participate...there's a $25 Papertrey Ink OR Gina K gift certificate up for grabs to tempt you....just sayin'... *wink*!
the challenge:

my project:

I also used the current CPS sketch to inspire my layout.  Check out CPS 136 here.

I rotated the sketch for my card.  :)  It worked great!  I loved all the layers inspired by the sketch and all the scallops inspired by the DP.  Lots of corner rounder fun here too :)  I scored with a cute scalloped leaf green button in my stash too!  I love when I can find my supplies! ;)

Although you can't really see them, this little owl is four layers deep!  Stamped once on the yellow DP base paper (legs), once on PTI pink bitty dots (wings), once, on PTI raspberry fizz (outer body) and once on pink and white polka dot from the my little shoebox DP (inner body).  This is paper piecing, simple layers that have been detail cut to bring your stamped image to life!  The My Cute Stamps images, in general, are great for coloring or paperpiecing.  This stamp set is Little Forest Friends and includes the owl and the sentiment you see here.  It's one of my favorites!

So are you ready to use pink and paper piece something?  Head on over to the Just Us Girls blog...you can click on the JUGs blinkie in my side bar to get you there. :)  You can get your own chic blinkie at the JUGs site and check out the buckets of inspiration from the JUGs girls this week.  I can't wait to see what you make and good luck on the blog candy!  Be sure and check out the rest of the JUGs blogs for endless inspiration:
