Just Us Girls #125... buttons and ribbon and flowers, oh my!!

For my Wilson Designs release post, click here!

This week Lisa is challenging us to make a template based on 3D project and you must also incorporate ribbon, button(s) and flower(s).

This week I chose to use the super cute milk carton template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  Kelleigh is my go to gal for templates and I have enjoyed a good long run as a creative team member for her since spring of 2009!  I am bidding a fond adieu to my post on the creative team....it's time for me to move over for the sizzlin' new members of Kelleigh's team!  So excitedc for them as they embark on the next creative chapter with their fearless leader, Kelleigh!  Kelleigh, it's been SO great!  Thanks for finding me and taking me on the journey so far. *sniff*  Love you, girlie!

Are you ready for some challenge fun?  Check out the girls...

My Time to Create Template Challenge #06

Hey blog friends!  It's time for another challenge with Lauren Meader and the my time team.  This week is a challenge to use a My Timeless Template to create beautiful packaging for candy!

I chose the Recipe Wrap Up template...one of the freebies offered by Lauren over at Papertrey Ink!

I will be giving my gift to my cousin and his wife-to-be on their wedding day in october.  The recipe wrap is the perfect way to house individual messages from our family of four, plus something sweet to represent their sweet love, and the "moola"  as I like to give good old cash for the actual wedding present.

After sliding the decorative belt off of the wrap-up, it unfolds to show the 6 individual pockets inside.

Hershey bars fit perfectly inside!  Yet another great template design by Lauren Meader!

Want some more inspiration?  Check out the My Time to create team:

They will for sure tempt your taste buds and your craft mojo with their candy re-dos.  I hope you'll take some creative time to try one of the templates for the challenge this week.  Link us up to your creation on the Mr Linky on Lauren's blog so we can all see!

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Sparkle and Shine

Work your sparkle girls! Don't you love it?! This past weekend I spent a couple hours watching my youngest get glammed up for a 5 year birthday bash at a super fun local party place called Sparkle! This place is a little girl's dream come true!

Trust me, this sparkley girl had a blast dancing, dressing up, playing games, crafting...it was a party fit for a princess for sure!

My little diva! They got to choose their favorite accessories and pile it on!

For the birthday girl, a gift bag adorned with a cricut storybook cut "birthday girl" and a tag by moi. I love this retired stampin up princess stamp.

I gave my zig scroll and brush markers a run with some detail work and color blending.

Oh! And of course, some SPARKLE! Thanks Martha Stewart for the fine detail glitter! :)
Glad you could stop by today! Thanks for doing that, that was nice!

My Time to Create Color Challenge #4 (MTTC04)...the butterfly effect

Hey everyone! Coming to you live from a cabin by the river in northern Cali...thank YOU blogger scheduler! It's time to get creative with Lauren Meader and the gals of the My Time to Create Challenge design team! This week it's all about the colors, dahlings, and they are quite lively for sure. Don't forget, Lauren will be highlighting the top five projects that are linked up with the Mr Linky on her blog for the color challenge. Could be YOU! I hope you give this challenge a try :)

the challenge:

my project:

As you can see, I was inspired by ALL of it...even the display graphic for the challenge. LOL! I couldn't help myself, these butterflies from the Indie Arts cricut cartridge were P-E-R-F-E-C-T! And, I'll tell you a secret. I bought this cartridge when it first came out....for THESE butterflies...and like everything precious I hoarded them as if they were too precious to use. Can you imagine?? I mean they are a DIE CUT! I could cut them over and over again but no, I had to save them for a "worthy" project! LOL Well, all I can say is thank you My Time challenge. It is time for these pretty butterflies to be free.

OK, enough of my crazy talk...how about some more inspiration?

Check out these uber-talented papercrafters and then let your creative juices flow for your own little bit of play time. Can't wait to see what you make!

For the perfect {pair}

Ahhh, weddings! They bring a tear of joy to my eye! Maybe even more than one! This past weekend I had the joy of watching a dear friend take her wedding vows. My heart was full to bursting with happiness for them. A great wedding also brings one more opportunity for my dear hubs and I to knowingly glance at one another and when our eyes meet we are thinking the same thing, " we still got it!" Yep, I can easily say we still got that sparkle of new love with a healthy dollop of history and experiences together resting jauntily on top. LOVE IT! So back to my friends wedding...They do make the perfect pair so why not a couple of pears to symbolize their sweet relationship? I loved this concept when I saw it at my brother and sister in law's wedding. They included the most perfect green pears to the entryway of their wedding hall. I've had this idea filed away for almost 5 years! So glad to see it come together in paper fashion here on this card.
Going the clean and simple route but with some cool details. OK, I seriously know I need to go to therapy for my overuse of the cuttlebug swiss dots folder but DANG! How can I stop...they are PERFECT on just about everything. :)
The sentiment was printed in word and then there are the black bling. I was stunned to find I owned no black bling! BUT, staz on refill and some clear mini gems to the rescue and voila! black bling!
And since I extra pieces of pear hanging about from my trials through the cricut, I went ahead and fashioned an envelope label using word for their monogram and nestabilities for the ovals. This pear got a little clear glitter as well. The envelope was run through with non other than the famous swiss dots folder. It makes a great center accent!
Thanks for stopping by today! I really appreciate it! Back with more tomorrow....
