Just Us Girls and My Memories Suite

It's National Scrapbooking Day and Maria has aptly challenged us to make a layout.  She's offering a prize too so be sure and check out Just Us Girls for the details.

Check out the inspiration from the girls...

I used My Memories Suite scrapbooking software to make this page!  I know my hometown scrapping friends are gasping but....I am slowly but surely converting to digital scrapping!  Surprise, surprise, I like it!  My Memories Suite is a super easy program you can use to scrap at your own computer.  Some of my favorite features are that I can take my scrapbooking anywhere on my laptop and work on pages without needing to have an internet connection.  This makes going to a crop a breeze!  I just need my laptop...instead of the trailer full of heavy totes I used to haul!  ;)  This program will also save your finished pages as .jpg images so you can upload your page to ANY online photobook printing service. (My favorite is Mixbook) Other great options are that My Memories gives you access to ALL of the fonts on your computer as well as any other digital papers and elements you may have regardless of which digi store you bought them from.  FYI- My Memories comes with lots of pre-loaded digital packages so you can get started right away even if you have never done digital scrapbooking before.  Check out the tutorials at My Memories for lots of easy ideas on how you make memory albums using the software.

For a $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software and a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store - $20 value!), please help yourself to my coupon code:

Here are a few more pages in an album of Italy that I have been working on using
My Memories Suite...

I can't wait to finish this album one day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #133 color...How cool is that?!

Just Us Girls is challenging you with a super summer color pallette this week!  Check it....

In my hometown it's to be in the mid 80's today!  Practically feels like summer to me once we pass the 80 degree mark so we are heading to the beach to play but before I run, I wanted to share this fun card for the color challenge this weekend. Love this fun image and and all those included in the Sweet Celebrations set from WD Stamps. Some sizzlin hot buttons from Buttons Galore and More make a fun marquee like trim at the top.

I couldn't resist swiping on some crystal effects to give this popsicle a little *shine*.

Speaking of shine, get your sunglasses on for the creative brilliance of the Just Us Girls DT.

That's it for me today.  Be "cool" and get your neon ON with us this week!  Until next time....

Just Us Girls #132...Oh my lordy bees!

Oh goodness gracious!  It's time for a brand new Just Us Girls challenge!  This week Lisa challenges us to try the sponge a layer technique.

Check it!  Me.  Queen of lumpy cards has a (OMG!) flat card this week!  Those ribbon banners are simply sponged on ink!  Woohoo!  I cut a ribbon banner using Spellbinders pennant banner nestibilities from cardstock and used the negative as a mask for inking up this card.  And seeing how this card and it's birthday wishes go out late to the recipient, I am rest assured that the delivery won't be held up by a lumpy embellishment that jams the envelope up in the postage cancellation machine at the post office! huh.  I could get used to this CAS stuff I think!

Proof!  This card is FLAT, no bumps but still packs alot of visual punch, I think, with the gorgeous ink colors that have been swiped on.  Ready for a few more projects that will have you scrambling to your ink pads and applicators?

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll join us for this fun technique this week.

Just Us Girls #131 Sketch...Better with friends

Howdy!  Happy weekend!  The girls are back with a sketch challenge this week from Andrea, our queen of gorgeous CAS creations!  Check out the details at Just Us Girls!

I used Andrea's sketch as a foundation to my card but, true to form, had to add a couple more layers ;)  That is the beauty of this sketch, it lends itself to all styles!    My card is a tribute to friendship this week.  I was reminded recently that friends are that quiet and elegant safety net that stands at the ready to cheer us, lift us up, make us laugh in that special way that friends do!  I am grateful for the friendships that have been entrusted to me.

Just Us Girls #129

Hey friends!  It's Just Us Girls challenge time.  This week is 3D/template week and I am challenging everyone to make a boxed card set that includes a "choose your own" sentiment tag option.  (RANDOM: anyone reading this post remember the "choose your own adventure" book series...I'm talking the 80's here!).  Anywhoo...the challenge...

Here is my card set unloaded from it's packaging.  It includes six stamped gingham note cards with one assembled to show the design I had in mind.  I included five sentiment tags for the five remaining cards...two happy birthdays and three tags that are stamped on both sides (Merci on one side and Oh my lordy bees, I'm so happy for you on the other side).  In addition to the tags, there is foam adhesive and coordinating buttons tied with twine.

I boxed my set in an up-cycled Papertrey Ink stamp packaging box.

Here is my card set all ready to go!

Just Us Girls #125... buttons and ribbon and flowers, oh my!!

For my Wilson Designs release post, click here!

This week Lisa is challenging us to make a template based on 3D project and you must also incorporate ribbon, button(s) and flower(s).

This week I chose to use the super cute milk carton template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  Kelleigh is my go to gal for templates and I have enjoyed a good long run as a creative team member for her since spring of 2009!  I am bidding a fond adieu to my post on the creative team....it's time for me to move over for the sizzlin' new members of Kelleigh's team!  So excitedc for them as they embark on the next creative chapter with their fearless leader, Kelleigh!  Kelleigh, it's been SO great!  Thanks for finding me and taking me on the journey so far. *sniff*  Love you, girlie!

    Just Us Girls #124

This week it's a color challenge over at Just us Girls.  I was happy to be the hostess this week and chose these pretty colors inspired by the Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe collection journaling card I used on my card this week.  Check it....

    Soooo pretty pretty!

I left the card full size and adhered it to a tall kraft cardstock base.  I added bling from Want2Scrap and stamped a quick sentiment with stamps from Wilsons Designs Stamps.

Simple strips of lace and bling finish off the bottom edge of this card.

Just Us Girls 123 technique week, PDCC118, SSD114 and a really incredible story..

Hey friends!  It's the weekend and I am excited to share the latest in challenges from Just Us Girls but even better than that, I was inspired to combine a few great challenges this week in order to better get the word out about this amazing kid named Sebastian and his sweetheart of a teacher.  Often times in blogland we come across stories that strike a chord and stir the emotions...this is one such story as the quote at the top of my post first caught my eye at Amy's blog and led me to Sebastian's story.  Spare a moment and read about this special boy and you will be inspired by him along with his sweet, caring teacher.

All that inspo led to this card which I am hoping will bring some sunshine via snail mail to Sebastian.
