{Thinking of you today} with Just Us Girls #118, Papertrey MIM a la Carte and CR84FN45

It's the weekend!  Yeah baby!  Ours will be full of kid-tivities (basketball, party and 4H meetings), how about you?  Before you dive headlong into the first full weekend of 2012, I hope you'll take some creative time and join in on some great challenges.  To start it off, a fabulous sketch from Pam and Just Us Girls

I drew my color inspiration from the creative ladies over at CR84FN....

And added in some Papertrey Ink Make It Monday technique.  This week is a la carte...we can pick any of the previous techniques to use this time.  I jumped at the chance of going back to Week 13 for Make It Monday #13: Impression Plate Tricks 2...this is one I remember wanting to try so badly but just not working out the creative time to make it happen.  Well, no more!  I got some technique on amd can I just say *love*?!

Click on the top picture in this post or the one above to get a better look at how the oval die masked a perfect oval frame into the delicious Papertrey Ink impression plate woodgrain .  I was able to use Lacey Ovals silver Nestabling to frame the outer edge of the impressed oval and the inner edge of the white cardstock oval. This color scheme + the Papertrey stamps and impression plate woodgrain remind me of tea in a good friend's country kitchen!  I also used one of the floral stamps from Stitches and Swirls to stamp a "doily" for my teacup to rest upon.  I can see a long-lasting creative love affair with this stamp set coming my way.... Yowsa!

In the meantime, I am thinking of all of my friends today and sending this cyber greeting your way!  Especially to my gal pals over at Just Us girls:
PLUS, we have the honor of introducing our first Guest Designer for 2012...the talented Kylie Kueter!  Welcome to the land of JUGs, Kylie!  We are so glad to have you!

Ok friends!  Let's fire up those creative engines and let those ponies RUN!  Hope to see you around the challenge linkies.  Thanks so much for stopping by here!

Hi everyone! Today over at Want2Scrap I am talking a little bit about leftovers, card casserole, craft supply stew! ;) You know, the bits and pieces of pretty papers and embellishments we all have little piles of. Supplies too useful to get rid of. I thought I'd share a recent mini card making session I had using leftover papers and the smallest  Nestabling frames in three packages.

Want2Scrap teams up with CPS!

Hey blog friends!  Want2Scrap has teamed up with the CPS sketch darlings this week!  Be sure and join in on THIS sketch challenge to have a chance at an amazing Want2Scrap prize!

I made my card for my one and only.  Such good fortune that the Crate Paper card, for some reason, had the letter "G" and the number "2" on it!  Perfect for two Gustafsons celebrating their 13th anniversary this week!

I paired up the sketch and fun papers with Ribbon Slides - Set of 3 - Beautiful Rhinestones and Nestabling Petite Scalloped Circle Sm Silver Rhinestones from Want2Scrap.  Isn't that rhinestone heart slide just de-lish!?

Have fun with this great sketch from CPS and good luck winning the Want2Scrap prize!

Nestabling™ Week with Scrap-Mart and Want2Scrap™

Hello and thank you for joining us for our very first Nestabling™ week! Designers from both Scrap-Mart.com and Want2Scrap™ have teamed up to bring you a week long mini blog hop full of beautiful projects featuring Nestabling™ by Want2Scrap™. If you are just joining us, hop on over to the Scrap-Mart Blog and start there. Before we get started with the projects, we’d like to send a special thanks to Want2Scrap™ for their generous donation of Nestabling™ for all of the designers to work with.

I decided to use the Want2Scrap™ Nestabling™Heart Circles Hot Pink Rhinestones to assemble a fun rosette to celebrate the fabulous people in your life.  Whether it be a special friend's birthday or maybe something fun for a bachelorette/girls night out, the absolutely sizzling hot pink of this Nestabling™ makes this rosette spring to life.

I assembled my rosette using several different layers.  By keeping my Nestabling™ on the clear acetate lining, I was able to hold it over several items to judge sizing and placement.  To my delight, the largest ring of Nestabling™ fit perfectly to a small doily in my stash!  The top medallion on my rosette was made using a stamped and die cut circle with loops of ribbon glued to the back and protruding from the edges and the two inner ring sizes of Nestabling™.   Time to assemble....

*tip* for those of you out there who love Papertrey Ink's Raspberry Fizz paper and matching accessories, the Want2Scrap™ "hot pink" products are a perfect match which is quite a great thing as I love Raspberry Fizz!  Check out all the yummy layers in this rosette and how the sparkly Nestabling™ pulls the hot pink from the back of the piece all the way to the front.

A final parting shot of an easy way to finish off the back of your rosettes.  A simple scalloped circle die cut in pretty designer paper from Cosmo Cricket does the trick.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see my project.  I hope you are able to keep hopping along with us this week!

Want2Scrap™ and PSA Essentials Summer blog hop

Hey blog friends!   Around my house, as the summer sun is making it's s-l-o-w appearance we have been taken with singing a lot of "here comes the sun, (do do do dooo)" to encourage it to show it's happy and shiny face....but regardless if you have summer sun where you are right now, grab some shades because Want2Scrap™ and PSA Essentials have teamed up to bring you some summer inspired projects today!

If you started at the Want2Scrap™ blog and have been following the hop in order then you would have come here from the delightful blog of Jeanne Streiff and you'll be heading next to the equally delightful blog of Jennifer Holmes.  If you would like to see the complete list of designers please start at the beginning on the Want2Scrap™  blog.  Also, I have some info regarding GIVEAWAYS and SALES so keep reading and looking....

My first project is a quick and simple card to drop a note to someone to say "wish you were here" or perhaps to say thank you to the hostess for sharing their beach house vacation with you and your family.  I used the Want2Scrap™ Nestabling Petite Scalloped Circle Sm Gold Rhinestones to highlight the cute sand castle stamp from PSA Essentials.  The sand castle is from the super cute Anchor's Away set.  I also created the custom stamped background paper by stamping with one of the images from the Rosettas set.  It's a lovely and ornate set of stamps that is so versatile!  A bit of stickles glitter glue, twine and a vintage button was all it took to finish this card off.  Now, a second project to tickle your funny bone and to remind us to use every little thing in our stash...
They've got
their eyes
on you!

These darling little treasures from the sea, also part of the Anchor's Away set, were too cute to pass up while I was creating for this hop.  I also had a treasured bit of silver bling left on my much loved sheet of Nestabling™ Pennants Silver Rhinestones that I had been saving for a while.  I also added some 72 Count - Silver Rhinestones - Self Adhesive individual bling to the center area of the pennant.

I love a new bookmark just for fun!  Now I admit this one is living in my summer reading book because it makes me giggle but this would also be a great project for the children in your life.  But for now....

these guys are sticking with me!
