I adore the new Arizona collection by Art Gallery, I pre-ordered all fabrics as soon as the collection was announced :) This is my first sewing project with one of these amazing fabrics, and I decided to use a free tutorial by StraightGrain to create a honeycomb smocked sundress.
Mijn mosterd haald ik, voor de verandering, nogmaals bij StraightGrain. Ik pinde de tutorial van een 'honeycomb smocked sundress', maar probeerde de techniek nog niet uit. Tot nu.
Moeilijk was het helemaal niet... wel een prutswerkje, maar het resultaat... overstijgt mijn verwachtingen. An van StraightGrain is mijn heldin!
Deze ochtend mocht Eloise passen en ze lijkt net een prinses in dit jurkje... Ik maakte massa's foto's, gewoon... omdat ik haar zou willen opeten! :-)
Eloise looks like a princess in this dress. Mister MinnieMie and I aren't married (yet), but this would be the perfect bridesmaid gown...
De jurk sluit achteraan met een blinde rits, en de schouderbandjes maakte ik met gouden bias.
The dress closes with a blind zipper in the back, and the shoulder straps are made with some sparkly golden binding.
Deze jurk maakte ik uit exact 50cm stof, ik heb dus nog voldoende om een bloesje voor Eloise of een tasje voor mijzelf te maken. Ik twijfel nu zelfs of ik nog wat zou bijbestellen voor een jurk voor mijzelf... Stoffenverslaafd zijn, het is een vies beestje :-)
