MOMENTS | City Run

D wears: Denim Jacket by Scotch Shrunk / Quilted Jumper by molo / Tee by Bobo Choses / Jeans by Munsterkids / Sneakers by Nike / Sunglasses by Sons + Daughters.

Living close to the city is great. A quick trip on the train and you are in the middle of hustle and bustle of Melbourne CBD. We always try to get in a visit on school holidays and this time around we will do more! The city just have so much to offer and it is so fun to take the kids here to just explore and eat in the cozy alleyways. The coffee smell is amazing as it's being brewed all around you in the atmospheric cafes, and the different sights and sounds are just a treat in itself.

We visited the NGV Gallery of Victoria and checked out the amazing exhibition on David Bowie. We also made sure to visit Hosier Lane for some street art and had a quick trip to the QV building for some wonderful lunch and some sweet treats. We will definitely be back here next week!

Bon Voyage!

That's it... TERM 1 of school, done and dusted. No more early mornings, making school lunches, finding school uniforms or getting the bikes on the back of the car (yep.. everyday morning routine here so I can bike and pick the kids up on their bikes from school). Nope no more of that - for a whole 2 weeks!

Instead we pack our bags and jump into our car to drive down the coast. We have rented a little pearl of a beach house, with great sea views and a balcony we can have breakfast on (OK here's to hoping the weather Gods offers us a bit warmer weather than we have gotten the last few days!) We have packed some warm denim goodies that goes great in both warm and cold conditions so I am sure we will be fine!

I am bringing the camera so I am sure we will be back with some nice memories to share...
until then, have a really HAPPY EASTER!

Moments | Weekend Getaway

We took the chance to get away over the long weekend. Life in the city can be great but sometimes you just long for some unknown roads and a close encounter with nature! We rented a house close to Bright, a small mountain town famous for it's good food/wine and lovely atmosphere. It is about 3 hours drive from Melbourne and in winter time there are several mountains where you can ski and snowboard on. It is also a famous destination for cyclists and action sports in general.

There are plenty of good tracks for either 4WD or mountain biking / moto cross. On our second day we decided to head up one of the close by mountains to a look out point called Clear Spot. It was a drive into the wilderness and the kids loved the close up view of the amazing animal life they have here. We even got a few free loaders on our bonnet! The view from up there was amazing, and we could even hear the music they were playing down in the town from up here. We had a quick stop for lunch and made sure we took in the wonderful sights while eating. We were lucky with the weather which was sunny and dry and a must if you go up driving here. During the colder months it can get really icy and wet up here and then all the tracks close down for security reasons. We had a few great hours in the mountain and by the time we came down it was so nice to kick back on the river bank in town, enjoying a cold beer from the Bright Brewery.

We definitely have to come back this way when the snow has started to fall. I can't wait to show the kids some snow and I hear the autumn leafs on the trees are nothing but spectacular!

Tropical Oasis | Scotch Shrunk

White, soft sand dunes for as long as your eyes can see. And there... in the distance, camels slowly moving like ships in the dessert ocean. It was the perfect spot to showcase the wonderful colours of this summer season from Scotch Shrunk. The tropical theme is saturated with colour and plant themes mixed with camo and animal patterns. Like the girl collection Scotch R'belle you can mix and match easily with the different garments and colours and there is no fear of going wrong with mixing patterns, they simply all work with each other.

I love how this collection is a tribute to Rio, summer, fun and sun! The wonderful swing tags always seem to have a little surprise and my son loved the little green metal fish that came with the shorts, he instantly tied it to his shorts and there it has stayed ever since.

Tropical Fever | Scotch R'belle

Back from holiday with the suitcase and heads full of holiday memories. One absolutely magical day was when we had a chance to visit the vast sand dunes in Newcastle. Endless hills of white, pristine sand which was so soft that it squeaked when you stepped on it. It was the perfect backdrop to shoot some absolutely amazing clothes by Scotch R'belle. If you are looking for clothes for your girl that is that perfect mix of cool and cute, then look no further.

Packed with wonderful details such as double layers, highly detailed buttons and little hidden printed messages in fun places it takes fashion into the art territory. Most garments are made to fit several outfits in the collection and it is a joy to mix and match this label. The tropical theme is wonderful and the colour choices are perfect for this summer! The cropped tee is detachable and underneath you have a lovely singlet, held together with a wonderful detailed copper button. The skirt is also double layered and has a gorgeous printed under layer which reminds me of aboriginal art and ties perfectly together with the rows of colour fringes in the waistline.
