Brand Watch | I Dig Denim @BucketsandSpades

Autumn and Winter is slowly creeping up and the days seem to get shorter and darker already over here in Australia. That is the time I start to look for some staple warmers for the kids wardrobe. We have been a longtime fans of Swedish label I Dig Denim, who always delivers a batch of fresh Scandinavian cool and a nice nostalgic feel from back home. This season we chose the Arizona jeans with an absolutely epic wash that simply screams denim.

This style is a relaxed fit jean with a drop crotch and a tapered leg. You can either wear them a bit loose on the hip or as a high waist. The comfort is perfect and my boy is already putting them on his chair in his room for easy access each morning.

We teamed the jeans with the super comfy Bernard hood in a vintage black wash. Timeless, effortless and all kinds of raw cool! These two pieces will be all he needs for those chillier Autumn days and with the amazing quality it has I already know they will get more and more comfortable for each wash! Find all your I Dig Denim needs over at Buckets and Spades who carry a great selection of this brand.

ARTIST WATCH | FOR THE LOVE OF SKULLS

D wears: Skull Robot Sweatshirt by nununuCircle Patch T-shirt by nununu / Skull Robot Patch baggy pants by nununu.

There is something about black on boys that I just love. It looks cool and let's face it, it will last a long time in the world of dripping ice-creams and bolognese stains! It is no secret that Israeli brand Nununu loves skulls and for this collection they teamed up with talented artist Shay Id Alony.

For their FW18 range they turned their inspiration towards the ancient tribal language, which perfectly reflects nununu's basic clean graphic world and ongoing inspiration coming from tribal art, particular tribal masks. The result is a bold monochrome statement that will be loved by both young and old.

This will be a favourite outfit for quite some time to come. Find nununu latest range over at Buckets and Spades who carries some great pieces from both the latest and previous seasons.

MOMENTS | 'How To Disappear' by Bobo Choses

D wears: Knitted Abracadabra jumper by Bobo Choses / Pants by Soft Gallery / Shoes by Vans / Beanie by H&M. M wears: Bunny Sweatshirt by Bobo Choses / Baggy Tracksuit pants by Bobo Choses / Moccasins by Country Road.

Winter is here! The temperature is dropping fast and a long with biting winds and days of rain, we are happy to add some thicker wear to the wardrobes. Bobo Choses new AW16 collection entitled 'How To Disappear' is full of great choices for winter. The collection is "Inspired by the world of magic, the collection pays tribute to the children’s sense of wonder towards the extraordinary". We love the fact that almost the whole collection is unisex!

Bobo Choses is one of 'the' brands internationally for those who want cool kids clothes that appeal to both parents and children. This season you can expect a few welcomed updates keeping the collection fresh and exciting especially for those longterm fans. The vintage inspired colour palette is on-trend, with muted tones of white, pink grey and mustard.

In addition Bobo Choses has communicated their greener approach to production. "We care about the impact we have on the environment. For this reason, a significant part of our knitted fabrics have been made of organic cotton made in India. This is a process in which no pesticides are used and water wastage is controlled, as the soil becomes more fertile and retains water better. This collection we are also using new biodegradable plastic bags which degrade in three years".

You can find a good selection of Bobo Choses here in Australia over at Buckets and Spades for Kids.

MOMENTS | A Visit to Montalto Vinyard and Olive Grove

M wears: Cardigan by Cotton on Kids / Dress by Bobo Choses / Sandals by Walnut Melbourne.
D wears: Tee by Mini and Maximus / Jeans by I Dig Denim / Shoes by Adidas. Tote bag by Bobo Choses.

If you are ever driving around in the Red Hill area, a visit to Montalto is always a good idea. Not only do they have lovely food and wine, they also have a sculptural park which the kids will love no matter what age they are in. Pick up a glass of your liking in the piazza and take it with you as you wander the vineyard and check out some of their amazing range of sculptures. Each year there will be more on display and the ones that are popular and get's most votes get to stay in the permanent exhibition. It is such a wonderful idea and the setting of the rolling hills as you are sipping on a wine from the area is nothing but breathtaking.

Their newly renovated piazza was wonderful and a great option if you don't want to take the kids into the more formal restaurant. If you are visiting on a weekend, make sure you sign up your name on the table list and do the sculptural tour while you wait. It can be quite busy on the weekend so it's always good to be prepared and avoid any lengthy waiting periods with the kids. The stone oven baked pizza is worth the wait though, and it was the best end to a great walk among some truly creative sculptures. Some where even interactive like the big cleaning bottles and a massive wind-up music sculpture which the kids loved of course.

Hope your weekend was full of adventures & fun as well!

MOMENTS | Big City Life

SHOP OUTFITS // M wears: art collage tee by Bobo Choses / Skirt by Bobo Choses / Long socks by Bobo Choses / Cat bag by molo / Shoes by Minnetonka. D wears: Tee by Bobo Choses / 3/4 pants by Bobo Choses / Sneakers by Vans.

A trip to the city and a chance to absorb some of its many sights, sounds and colours! We love to visit without any major plans or expectations. Just walk around and see whatever is on offer which generally is a lot! The NGV at Federation square is a great place to visit for a chance to get exposed to some great art and interesting artists.

Level 3 has a great little kids section where there is always something fun happening that the kids and their parents can partake in. This day it was pottery making and it was fun sitting down and making our own little pots that we later could take home. At the same level there was also a design exhibition which the kids loved, so many shapes and colours to look at (and I have to admit, the no touching policy was extra hard in this section! ) Entry to this gallery is free of charge so it is a place that is well worth a visit whether you have kids or not.

After we had been lost in art for a few hours we walked up through the famous street art alley Hosier Lane and then deep into the bustling city for a lunch break at the QV building. A chance to sit down in the indoor/outdoor area relax, eat and let all the impressions from the day sink in.
