Friday offered warmer weather and lots of sun. M had a day off school so it was the perfect day to take both kids and grandma and grandad and spend outside. It was such a wonderful day and we couldn't believe that it was as warm as 19C, being August it is normally still Winter time so it was such a nice change. We threw rocks in the water, built rock towers, spotted big ships on the horizon, rode on scooters and had lunch in the sun. It was a nice promise of what is to come soon... Spring!

New In | Slippers & Snakes

A parcel with slippers and snakes arrived the other day from Minibots. The snake print from Mini Rodini's drop 3 was my favorite and since my boy have always had a lot of use of their leggings these green python leggings were a  simple choice! For the last 3 years we have always stocked up on the best slippers around from Collégien. The super flexible sock slippers have been so good on my kids feet and since they have a proper sole underneath, they are also OK to do some short outdoor visits in.

They recently did a collaboration with Israel clothing label NUNUNU and the famous stars, skulls and letters are now available on the lovely Collégien slippers. My girl picked the star slippers and they will be perfect for those cold winter morning floors.

As Autumn is settling in here with a week of rain on the forecast I am longing for summer instead by looking at sweet summer outfits. I created this one thinking of warm summer days, eating ice cream in the shade.

Moments | Playbreak

Some moments from an afternoon in the park. The kids made their own restaurant and invited us to come and eat their pumpkin soup. Of course with two chefs there was a bit of different opinions which herbs should go in ( and D insisted a few sausages should also go in). The sun started to warm up in the end and it was nice to sit under the big shady tree at the playground and watch the kids trying to climb it, and making up new games to play. The tree turned into a pirate hang out and before we knew it, all adults were captured and would be let loose until we tasted the pumpkin soup... luckily the kids settled for going for milkshakes at a nearby cafe instead of us trying their concoction :) Lucky for us!

We are having a long weekend over here in Australia and next week school starts again after a long summer holiday. I still feel like...where did that time go!? But I guess some routines are always good after a long break. Let's see how I feel about it next week. Have a lovely weekend out there!

Moments | Slowing Down

Some moments from this afternoon. Sun is out and about and we spent an hour or so on a playground the kids like to go to. Only a stone throw away from the beach, but since both myself and the little guy are down with a cold there was no need to think about going to the beach today. Instead we built little rock towers and had a little competition on who could hit it first. The winner would get ice-cream, I guess it was a tie because we all got one in the end. 

Holidays are coming up, and boy do we need it! Another grade done and dusted in school for M and D moves up to big boy 4 yr Kinder next year. Things are going fast and a holiday is just what we need to slow things down. Have a lovely weekend!

Moments | Wooden Castle

Some moments from a trip to a wooden castle playground. It was like a maze and the kids quickly went off in different direction to explore the little nooks and crannies. If you turned right there was a swings in the shade, if you went left you found secret holes leading down to an lower level in the castle, and if you kept going forward underneath the castle there was a little hidden sandpit with a super fast slide.

The kids had a blast and the big people could sit under a big sail sipping coffee and catching up without being interrupted for at least 10 minutes ;). We also got a chance to see a black swan family with some adorable baby swans (or cygnet as they are called). No chance getting photos of those since the mother was quite protective and not keen on having a camera too close.
