The corrupted mind

Two days ago sitting in front of the Fuso Szulc on the self build terrace overlooking the bay of El Triple and seeing the waves of the Pacific Ocean roll in, the head was turned and a field came into view.
A green field surrounded by rows of bushes covering the rolling hills.

It was realized that a visit to this location had happened before.
With someone there had been a picnic on that field some time ago.

But then the thinking reached a barrier.
Was that field there or was it a memory?
This enigma was quickly solved: there are no green fields to see at El Triple.
In 2010 there has hardly been any rainfall: nature is as dry and sordid as ever.

The thinking reached a new stage: the visual memory of the green field, was it a memory of a green field that actually exists somewhere or was it a memory of a field that had been seen in a dream?
There the thinking stalled.
Because the answer could not be found.

For over an hour life became paralyzed searching in the mind if ever that green field had been really visited.
With who then had that picnic been?
Where could that green field be?
But if it had been in a dream, what had the dream been about?
How recently had that dream been?
And why would that detail of the dream come suddenly so strongly into the consciousness?

Eventually this intensive process of contemplation was halted.
It could not come to a satisfactory conclusion.
No determination if it was a memory of a place that really exists or a memory of a green field from a dream.

As of then, there is a certain worry.
If in the mind it cannot be known anymore if a memory is from the past reality or from an old dream, thinking becomes a most unreliable activity.
And disturbing because a memory can initiate a feeling.
A mood and emotions.
If a memory makes sad or happy but is a memory coming from dreams, it is the non-reality forcing upon us a feeling.
Corrupting an essential aspect of us human beings.
It can be wonderful and healing to remember events from the past with its accompanying emotions.
But if those events get mixed up with often absurd contents from dreams we unwillingly remember, we are in fact lost.

If we are sure it is a memory from the past that really happened, there is no problem.
But if it is a green field from a dream, we are pushed out of balance.

But maybe this is what a retreat, now in its 28th day, is doing.
The awareness gets so high and the space to think so big, that contradictions, faults and paradoxes get noticed in the thinking process.
Which is a good thing.
Thinking is great when playing chess but not to live spiritually.
When flaws are discovered in the thinking process, it becomes more easy to distance oneself from that unreliable activity.
Once thinking stops, pure life begins.

Unable to leave

We have reached now November 29 and in the northern hemisphere this has brought winter time.

This can be clearly noticed at El Triple as well.
In the beginning of this retreat on October 9, the sun was rising at 7.25 am.
Now it comes above the horizon at 7.55 am.
During the day its orbit lower than weeks ago.

This makes the daily temperatures go down seriously.
Especially at night.
On October 10 at night it was 17.8º C. (64º F)
Needing one blanket only.
Last night it was a freezing 11.2º C. (52º F)
Sleeping in a T-shirt under a blanket and a duvet.

This is all not too dramatic because during the day in the sunshine temperatures go up reaching a nice 25º C (77º F).

But winter also brings wind to El Triple and this is a factor that is the most dominant.
The wind carries the temperature of the water of the Pacific Ocean that is very cool now.
And every day it blows more violently and aggressively.
Starting early in the morning and continuing long after sunset.
Daily the wind speeds are reaching now around 30 kilometers per hour (10 mph).

Any sensible person would easily come to the decision that to live in those circumstances is not pleasant and that it is time to go.
Time to move on to a situation that is more comfortable and meteorologically friendly.

This is easy to do.
The retreat at El Triple can be ended to pack everything in the Fuso Szulc and go.
To drive to the other side of the peninsula Baja California to stay with the Gonzales family along the Sea of Cortez.
Where it is warmer and more pleasant.

But being in the second period of the retreat, now in day 24, this is not as easy to do as it is written down in a blog.
It is like being under a spell.
Enchanted and mesmerized by the unique aspects of living in the current simplicity and purity.
Unable to give this up yet.
To wrestle free yet of the uplifted existence.

Besides, there is still food in the fridge enough for another week at least.
The water tank is at 50 % of capacity, the propane tank at 44 %.
There is still about 30 liters (8 gallons) of drinking water.

Hence, the violent wind and the cool temperatures are accepted: there is no other way.

Yesterday, while hiding for the strong wind down in the dry river bed reading a book, the sound of a car was heard.
Checking who had come, it was a rental car with a man from Paris, France and a woman from Montreal, Canada.
Living with two children in San Francisco and now on holidays in Mexico.
The man, called François, was into kite surfing.
They were staying on the east coast of Baja California but the wind there was from the south and not strong enough.
But at El Triple they found the ideal location for kite surfing.
A sandy beach, no rocks in the water and a strong northwest wind.
François happy and Hélène happy because François was happy he could kite surf.

For them the wind was fabulous and the water not cold.
Hélène was even bathing in the ocean.

It suddenly threw another light on the location of El Triple and the current conditions.
The wind and the temperature experienced as negatives and enemies were observed as able to be also friends.
Let’s stay some more days.

Be one of one million

Today, on November 11, 2010, one million people across the globe will mentally project a unified vision of a new paradigm for our species... a new reality.

The very real physics that connects human consciousness with molecular structure will be harnessed en masse during the largest scale simultaneous manifestation transmission in recorded history.

A Sunday tour

Today is Sunday and therefore the tour brings the visitors to a special place inside the Fuso Szulc.
The area on the table that is considered to be the altar.

Here certain relics are exposed to influence positively the life of the inhabitants.

First of all we find a statue of Bhudda.

Siddhartha Gautama was a spiritual teacher from India who founded Bhuddism.
He lived about 400 years before Christ and after becoming enlightened, at the age of 35, he obtained insight into the nature and cause of human suffering.
His teachings include the steps necessary to eliminate the ignorance causing this suffering and can be found in his Four Noble Truths:

1. There is suffering.
2. There is a cause of suffering.
3. There is the cessation of suffering.
4. There is the eigthfold path leading to the cessation of suffering.

On the altar are also different stones.
First we find on the altar a small pyramid of mountain crystal.
Mountain crystal is a colorless and clear quartz.
It is a stone of force that harmonizes and brings enlightenment.

The stone in the shape of a heart is of pink quartz.
Pink quartz is a stone of love and forgiveness.

The round purple mineral on the altar is an amethyst stone.
That heals, purifies and creates inner peace.

Finally, we see a beautiful necklace on the altar.
Made of the stone called jade.
That gives peace, harmony and wisdom.

When it is full moon all these stones are put outside and placed in the bright light.
A very old tradition.
In this way the stones are charged with energy to radiate this later from the altar.

There is also an image on the altar.
A woman caring for a child.
This is a copy of a painting by Pablo Picasso
titled "Motherhood".

Last, we see a small statue on the altar that consists of two parts connected to each other.
When closed, the outside shows two hands.
Opened, we see two statues carved in the wood that represent two Hindu gods.
One is Shiva, the destroyer of negativity.
The other Ganesha, the God of wisdom.

In the evening, when the sun is about to set, candles are lighted and put on the altar.
While nearby, from the wall an image of Osho is looking what is going on.
And shares love and harmony.

The Boran and the Kible

It has been scientifically proven that there is no heaven and hell.
Therefore we can all sit back and relax now that we know that high above us there is no heaven and deep down under us there is no hell.

However, before we relax too much, there are two things we should never forget.
The two things called fear and greed.
That are not located somewhere out there in space.
Or deep underneath us.
They are located right inside ourselves.

And certain religions, long time ago, discovered fear and greed.
And used them as a way to control the people.
To fear the concept of hell was connected.
To greed the concept of heaven.

This is one of the reasons why a person with a well functioning mind will not take religions serious.
They are man made inventions to manipulate and to control.
Religions are not even close to God and Godliness.

Two days ago in a Café Exquisito coffeeshop in La Paz, Baja California, Mexico, two well dressed young man were sitting at a table.
Americans.
In between them they had a Bible.
One was teaching the other.
Asked: "What questions do you have in your life?"
The student replied: "Well, like, where do we come from, why do we live, what will happen to us eventually, that kind of thing".
This was a great opportunity for the Bible teacher.
"Where do we come from" ?
Go to chapter such and such on page 567 and read what Paul had to say about this.
"Why do we live"?
Go to chapter such and such on page 432 and read what Peter gives as an answer.
And so on.
Every question about life the ignorant and simplistic boy had, the answers were there in the Bible according to the teacher.

Therefore, the attention of the Bible teacher was requested.
He looked and listened and was first puzzled when he heard:
"Hey Mr. Bible teacher, do you realize that right now two guys are sitting in a tearoom in Karachi, Pakistan with in between them the Koran and one is, like you, explaining life to the other based on their holy book?"

To that question the bible teacher obviously had no answer: no chapter in his book with instructions about how to live was giving him an adequate answer.
His common sense though should have told him that it was true: religious fundamentalism and its brainwashing is happening all over the planet.
Based on different books but all with the same devastating effects.

The two men stood up, paid for their coffee and left.
They preferred to continue to believe in heaven and hell instead of recognizing and self-handle their fear and greed.

Surviving in the city

After many weeks at the rancho of the Gonzales family out in the boondocks, suddenly life is in the city of La Paz.

At Punta Boca del Salado life is simple and natural.
With the Sea of Cortez on one side and long time friends on the other.
Pelicans patrolling the shore, whales coming up to breath and cows coming in from the mountains to drink water at the well.
The sun comes up and after some time the sun goes down.
The days seem uneventful.
And they are.
But that creates space to have in the spirit and the soul events happen.
To reflect, to meditate and to spiritually grow.
To use the peace and harmony of the location to become a little more complete.

In the city of La Paz life is not simple and not natural.
Compared to Punta Boca del Salado.
There are a million things going on around a visitor of the city.
Little events all asking attention.
Suddenly the capacity of absorbing impressions has to work at maximum level.
However, it is impossible to be aware of everything going on in a city with the consciousness that has been used in Punta Boca del Salado.
Too many impressions would tumble over each other in the consciousness all asking for attention eventually deeply confusing the innocent city-visitor.
Who then loses the inner centre and balance and will meet serious demons.

Hence, once in the city, a defense mechanism becomes active that starts to work as a filter.
A limit is placed on impressions allowed into the consciousness.
A terrible thing to do.
To deliberately lower the level of consciousness.
But one needs to survive in the melee of the city.
It makes no sense to get drunk, to buy useless things and have happy endings.
Empty activities nobody likes even to remember.

However, there is a trick to survive in a healthy way in the city.
This is to limit the amount of events to wish to become aware of.
But at the same time to focus on specific events and to give those the privilege to enter deep into the consciousness.
To be very selective.
To open for only one specific happening.
For only one specific person.
To have Punta Boca del Salado experiences in La Paz.

What is coming to us.

When in La Paz recently, of course the ice cream shop “La Fuente” on the Malecon Boulevard was visited.
They have exceptionally delicious ice cream made from guavas.
In front of the shop are benches where one can sit quietly to overlook the bay of La Paz and see the people parade by.

Next on the bench a beautiful man was sitting observing some children and making notes in a book.

This was Chandes Ahuja.
A man originally from India who had moved to California, USA where he had been working as an engineer.
Now he is on a 6-month travel in Mexico living simple and on a low budget.
Finding rooms to spend the night for 20 $ (15 €).

It was a pleasant conversation with Chandra, his Indian name.
And at one point he wrote something down on a piece of paper to give it to his new friend.

The note says:
Ramana Maharishi / Tiryuvayamalai

Back in the Fuso Szulc of course this Ramana Maharishi / Tiryuvayamalai was Googled and several results came out.

For the fervent and loyal blog readers there is now the option to share this extraordinary experience of receiving a piece of paper with a name.
To find out what is the meaning and the message for each of us.
Of learning what wants to come to us.

Click blissfully on:

On these websites you will meet a man who has something to tell you.

Open and know what he tells you.

As a gesture of compensation and friendship Chandra was giving a piece of paper on which:
