Breast Cancer Awareness Brooch
Mama LoveBug has been creating brooches right and left. I need to take a break and post one of these.
Breast Cancer Awareness is a very important cause. Sometimes we forget to "stop and smell the roses" in the celebration of life and the remembrance of those who are suffering, those who are survivors, and those who have fallen victim to this medical issue. Never forget!
This brooch is made from paper and can be proudly worn to show support.
Thanks for stopping by.

28 Candles Blog Hop!
Welcome to the 28 Candles Blog Hop! This is LoveBug Creations’ second time hosting such an event and we are thrilled to celebrate Kimi’s 28th Birthday with you. Birthday Love is permeating the air at the LoveBug Studio and we hope you enjoy the creativity that’s here for you. We also hope you’ll be inspired to make some creations of your own to spread that birthday love as well.Kimi is blessed to have some fantastic gals participate in her birthday fest. At the LoveBug home we have a tradition that a “gentle spanking” would take place with the appropriate number of swats plus a “pinch to grow an inch” for the birthday person – so since Kim turned 28, she has a line-up of 28 plus one, making a total of 29 birthday swat slots! Each crafter gave us her time and talent for this event and we hope you will visit each blog along the way – check out their creativity and give them some love in the form of a comment on their blogs.
The list of birthday swat slots is as follows:

So let’s start spreading the birthday love for Kimi with Mama LoveBug. As the mother of little Kimi, I have enjoyed seeing her blossom into a wife, a mother, and a crafter. This bundle of joy arrived on April 10 as the youngest of four sisters. She made her appearance on a Sunday morning – lots of curly hair and a darling face.
When she was very young she would scream at strangers, feared getting her hair washed, and loved to bedevil her older siblings. They would get even with her by telling her she was adopted and by showing her a Cabbage Patch adoption paper to further their cause – she couldn’t read so she really thought that was true!
Through the years she has been a Daisy Girl Scout, a synchronized swimmer, a singer in a high school vocal group called Lightshines, a saxophone player in the marching band, and a lover of all things pink! As an adult daughter she has shared with me her love of Vera Bradley purses, period piece dramas, reality TV shows, and of course, paper crafting. It was her idea to form LoveBug Creations, a mother and daughters business. Some of you may also know that she recently won a Cricut Imagine from the Provo Craft referral contest; however, some may not know that the greater prize was the new friendships that were formed.
Happy Birthday, Kimi…………28 swats and a pinch to grow an inch………..and how about some patchwork cake?? That’s to remind you of the poke cake that GG always made!
And now for the Birthday girl's project!!! :)

My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy!!
Hi Everyone!!! Have you tried Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock? It is simply amazing!!! I just got a whole bunch of different stacks and am lovin' them! If you'd like to check out their products, gallery and design team Click Here! You can do so much with these papers and get different looks!! So I'd like to share with you 3 projects I've made using a couple of different stacks! I hope these projects show just how great this paper is!
My first project is an easel card I made for a friend! I used the WhiteWash Collection for this one! I cut a bunch of 1" squares out of Cellar Door (blue) and Garden Gate (Green)! I then embossed them with the Cuddlebug using the Swiss Dots and D'Vine Swirl embossing folders! I sanded over the entire square with the Sand It Gadget from Core'dinations! It brought out the bolder color! Cleaned each square off with my Dust Buddy! I would say the Dust Buddy is the BEST lil' cleaning cloth ever! Then I ran some Picket Fence paper from the same collection through my Imagine using the Yummy Cartridge! Core'dinations paper works really well in the Imagine! Prints and cuts it with ease! Assembled the card, added some faux stitching and got to work on the lower part! For this I sanded the edges of the two colors and then stamped them with the "Hey Cupcake" sentiment from Pink by Design! Also added some DCWV rub-on cupcakes on each side!!
Side View
For my next project I made a cute little basket with strawberry boxes! For this project all the papers came from the Glitz and Glam Collection! Oh my goodness! One of my favorites! It has all different colors of glitter paper along with matching pearlesent paper! Love it! :) I found this great tutorial on making the strawberry boxes here! They are really easy to make and this paper just makes them pop! I filled each one with Hershey Kisses to give as a treat to someone special! For the basket I used the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge and changed it a little bit using the Gypsy! The Flower on front was a Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix die! And the adorable stamps are a mix of 2 sets from KinderStampo! Super fun and easy project!!
For my last project I made a card for spring....using some very unlike spring colors! I love the way white, black and red look together and I already had a lot of pastel colors for my other projects! For this one I used the ripping technique! Love how awesome Core'dinations paper looks when ripped! I used some more glitter paper from the Glitz and Glam stack as well as some Starry Night paper from the Vintage Collection! Since you can't sand the glitter paper once it was ripped I inked the edges and just LOVE the way that looked! Tore some Starry Night and stamped on it using another Pink by Design stamp and heat embossed it! Tossed on a matching ribbon, paper flowers and bling and it's good to go! Easily my favorite of all the projects I made! :)
I truly hope you have enjoyed these projects and they've inspired you! If nothing else I hope it makes you want to try out this wonderful paper for yourself! You'll be amazed at how much fun you'll have with it! :)
Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think! :)
