Friday Catch Up 22 12 2023

I've been making hares over the last year, I started in January and have made four so far using the Hendrick's scrappy hare pattern. They have now gone to new homes as gifts. I'll post a more detailed post about these next time.

I've also made a number of travel tissue covers also for gifts.

Workshop
I met up with arty friends for a workshop where we made paper houses

and received some lovely handmade gifts. The hat was an extra, one lady always makes us a hat as well as a gift, this year she added baubles to a summer hat.

Christmas Cards in Watercolours - The dog card is for my son and family as they have a dog, the cat one is for my daughter and family as they used to have a cat.

Also joining in with Friday Face Off

Friday Catch Up 08 12 2023

I don't know if anyone noticed that I hadn't posted for a couple of weeks - I've been away to Asia visiting Thailand [Bangkok], Cambodia and Vietnam. I'm sure I will have more things to show you from there soon. But today I have photos from the newly finished 1950's aged miners cottages at Beamish Museum. I don't seem to have a photo of the outside which I shall rectify next time I go.

Pull up a Seat Photo Challenge

I remember when I was young we had three blue birds on the wall.

At the same cottages as above.

This was taken in Bangkok Flower Market, my app says it is called dendrobium.

When I first saw this also in Bangkok I thought they were made of polystyrene but it is actually fish food for a festival. I have no art to share this week.

Friday Catch Up 03 11 2023

Doodlewash and Inktober

27 Dinosaur and Beast
28 Gemstone and Sparkle
30 Gold and Rush
31 Cauldron and Fire

at Beamish Museum

St. Helen's Church was relocated from Eston, deconstructed brick by brick then rebuilt in Beamish Museum. Some of the numbers still show on the bricks. The church was almost derelict and was due to be demolished until Beamish saved it. The oldest stones were from the 11th century.
The pews were from somewhere in Somerset. The parishioners paid a fee to use a row of seats and had their names on a plaque on the wall next to the seats..

I've gone back to colour for the next two. Another gate for Thursday Doors too.
