Vellum Treat Boxes - NEW March Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club

Good morning! Today I have a special project to share using the BRAND NEW Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for March! It is so very lovely - and I had tons of fun! You can read all about their different kit options HERE - lots of options to check out!

This month's kit includes a fabulous die for a darling little treat or gift package, as well as some beautiful florals, flourishes, and cute little tags!

Here is a photo of the finished project in my hand - just to give you an idea of the scale of it:

I thought it would be fun to cut it out of vellum - and then I actually ended up cutting all of the decorations from vellum as well, and coloring it with Copic markers to add some interest and color variation.

I love the look of Copic markers on vellum - you have to use slightly more intense colors than you normally would to get it to show up clearly.

After adding a scribble of Copic marker to the tag to mimic a bit of a watercolor background, I heat embossed a sentiment from a cute Heffy Doodle stamp set by stamping with Versafine black ink and then sprinkling on sparkly embossing powder. Once it heat set, I added the leaves and flowers with glue, and then weighed the entire thing down with clear stamping blocks until it dried sufficiently - this kept it from curling up as the glue dried.

I did the same thing for the decorations on the side of the box - laying the die cut vellum down flat on my desk, glueing the flourish on, then adding one of the brand new gems from Pretty Pink Posh over the center - then weighing down with another clear stamp block until it dried and I could assemble the box.

I punched a tiny hole in one side of the top of the box, and used that to tie on my tags with a touch of jute string.

What do you think - isn't that fun? These kits are a great deal - lots of value for the cost! Go check this one out HERE!

Floral Poppy Silhouette - Spellbinders Border Die

Good Morning! I have card to share today using another die from Spellbinders that I had the chance to play with recently! Die D-Lites Field of Poppies Etched Die is a border die that functions a lot like the die on the card I shared yesterday (as far as stenciling on detail) - but I decided to cut it from pattern paper and use it as a silhouette instead for this card:

Isn't it a fun focal point for my card? I die cut if from some new Authentique pattern paper that I recently picked up, and attached it with tape on the bottom of the border to a strip of white cardstock, and then added foam tape under the flowers to pop them up a little and give some layered depth.

I heat embossed a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp You Got This Stamp Set on a strip of black cardstock and mounted that with foam tape just covering the bottom of the silhouette image. I matted that panel with some more pattern paper from the same paper pad.

Finished off with a few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins, and added some Jute Twine wrapped around and tied in the back. I then mounted that panel on a Smoke Gray cardbase.

Blue Poppies - Spellbinders Card Creator Die

Hello! Today I have a card to share using an absolutely STUNNING die from Spellbinders called  Card Creator Poppies Pocket Card Etched Die

I love a good floral die - and this one is so fun and unique! First off, it cuts out a gorgeous panel large enough for your card front. It also cuts out side scored panels that once folded wrap around the front of an A2 card panel, so when it is attached behind allows it to pop up with a touch more 3D effect. And...once you die cut it, leave the die in place and add some inking over the flowers for some depth and detail! SWOON!

I die cut if from Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass Cardstock which helped it pop off my white cardbase. Once I pulled the die off, I also added some distress ink on the leaves and stems for more fun. A sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Choose Happy Stamp set and some glittery Nuvo drops in the centers of the flowers were both the perfect finishing touches!

Ornate Blessings - Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club

Good morning! I'm back today to share another card using the past Spellbinders Large Die of the Month set from October. It is so very lovely - and I had tons of fun! You can read all about their different kit options HERE - lots of options to check out!

For this card I used the mail large ornate frame to create my card. It's hard to see in the photos, but I used the plain square to die cut out the center of the frame, then backed it with vellum for a soft effect. I layered some thin gold glitter washi tape around the edges of the inside of that frame, and secured them down with machine stitching (since washi doesn't always stick super securely to vellum!).

I trimmed a card base to fit behind the inside of the frame - that way nothing detracts from that intricate detail, but I still have somewhere to write a note or message.

Around the edges of the frame, I decided to add a little touch of extra gold - sort of a gilded effect. I dipped the edges in an embossing ink pad, then sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heat embossed it. LOVE this effect so much!

Finally, I die cut a couple of the floral images in both gold cardstock and black cardstock, and adhered them together slightly offset, before mounting with foam adhesive on the front of the card. I die cut the word from anther Spellbinders Die Set - Blessings Vine Frame also from gold and black cardstock, again adhering them together slightly offset for a shadow effect. I glued that directly on my cardfront, and then finished off with several clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh - including one each in the centers of the flowers!

Hope is Stronger - Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club

Good afternoon! I intended to get this post written up earlier today - but busy day caught up with me and slowed me down until now! Surely I'm not the only person that happens too? Haha! Anyway - I recently had the privilege of playing with a past Spellbinders Large Die of the Month set from October. It is so very lovely - and I had tons of fun! You can read all about their different kit options HERE - lots of options to check out! I have another card to share tomorrow - but thought I'd start with my favorite today!

For this card, I started by die cutting one of the floral frames from a panel of watercolor cardstock, and saving the main negative, I pulled the die cut image out and watercolored it in with my Daniel Smith watercolors. I then fit it back in place and created a Shaker Window with it.

The Queen of Sparkle

Good morning! I thought I would share another catch up card from last year today! This is another one that I made for my term on the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen:

I used the January 2014 Kit of the Month from Unity for this card, colored with Copics, accented with Wink of Stella, and filled in with Glossy Accents on parts of the cupcake. Pattern paper is from Crate Paper, with a panel of vellum to soften the front a little, and I also used a bit of jute twine, and a touch of tiny bling on the crown!

Shine Bright Like a Diamond

Good morning! Here again with another card that I made for Splitcoast Stampers when I was a member of the Dirty Dozen earlier this year! For this one I used a Spellbinder's Die to cut my frame, and stamped an image from Unity Stamps on it. Colored it in with Copics, added a touch of stickles, and distress the edges with distress ink. Heat embossed my sentiment on vellum, then attached it to white cardstock with staples. Added some lovely My Mind's Eye pattern paper, a bit of jute twine tied in a bow, and a few sequins to finish it off.

I am linking this up as a second entry into Virginia's View Challenge as well:

Sweet and Sparkly Deer

Hello! Around Thanksgiving, I took advantage of the awesome sale that Nicole over at Sweet Stamp Shop did and got a couple of the then newer sets that I had been drooling over! The other day I had the opportunity to finally play with them (YAY!!!) - and made this using the Monogram It set to link up with the Simon Says Stamp - Bling It On Challenge:

You really can't see it in this picture, but I stamped the deer with Tsukineko Golden Glitz Delicata Ink - and it is TOTALLY my new favorite gold ink! LOVE! Totally shimmery and glitzy and pretty! I stamped the bow over the top with MFT ink, and the sentiment on the bottom with Hero Arts Shadow ink, then cut it out with a Spellbinder's Nestabilities Die.

I used Basic Grey Persimmon pattern papers, and cut a shadow for behind the front panel and wrapped some jute twine around it before attaching each layer with foam adhesive.

For the outer edges of the card, I rounded the corners, smeared (technical term here!) some Glossy Accents on, and sprinkled on some Gold Crushed Glass Glitter - also love the texture and glitter this gives! Finished off with a few Avery Elle sequins tucked here and there.

MCS New Release Day 1 - Wise Men Still Seek Him

Good morning! I'm so excited to be kicking off the first day of sneak peeks for the Winter Release at My Craft Spot! Today we are sharing peeks of 2 new banner die sets, and a new stamp set called Christmas Banner Sentiments, that conveniently coordinate perfectly with each other! Here is what I made for today:

This was one of those ideas that pops into your head when you are falling asleep at night, and then has to be made as quickly as possible in the morning! I started off by stamping and heat embossing the star from Chunky Alphabet stamp set in yello, then I cut a circle mask out of some plain white paper with a Spellbinders die, laid it over some Avery Elle gray cardstock, and then inked inside the circle with 2 different colors of distress ink, blending in the middle. I added a spray of Smooch Spritz, then pulled the mask off and let it dry.

Next, I cut, stamped, and folded the banner, and attached it on the bottom. I cut the little wiseman using my Silhouette Cameo. I wanted to fit 3 of them on, but couldn't get them to cut as small as I wanted, so I just settled for the one.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure and head over to My Craft Spot next to see what the rest of the design team put together, and enter today's giveaway!

N&T New Release - Merry and Bright

Good morning! It's the 5th and final day of sneak peeks for the new release peeks at Neat and Tangled - all new sets are now available in the store!

Today we played with a set called Merry and Bright - Here is what I made for today:

I used one of my favorite color combos, but with the twist of adding gold in! Pattern paper is from an older October Afternoon holiday paper pack, and the glitter strip on the side is from a DCWV 6x6 paper pad. I cut the center panel using a Spellbinder's Nestabilities die, then stamped the ornament with MFT ink, heat embossed the top piece and stamped a separate starburst in the center to heat emboss as well. I punched a hole in the center top of the ornament hanger, and tied through some Baker's twine, with a bow and button at the top.

Stamped my sentiment with black ink, added a few black pearls, then attached the front panel with foam adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure and head over to Neat and Tangled to see all the other Design Team samples, and to check out the new release in it's entirety! Have a great and weekend!!!

Because of the Cherry...

{{{If you are looking for my 1,001 Post and Giveaway click HERE or just scroll down}}}

Hello! Just a quick evening post with the card I whipped out quickly tonight for Day 3 of the Unity Itty Bitty a Day Facebook challenge:

I found this picture on Pinterest and used it as my inspiration:

{Can't find image credit for this one - otherwise I would share!}

I used the itty bitty Counts as Fruit, colored in a bit with Copic markers on a oval cut with a Spellbinders Die. Inked the edges of that and the card base with distress ink, and misted the background with Heidi Swapp color shine and Mister Huey's mists.

Hand trimmed my own banner for the sentiment, and added a bow with a bit of raffia from May Arts tied around.

Can't say it's my favorite ever...kind of had a long and busy day today and was just worn out. So...this is the best it was going to get! Oh well! Have a great evening!!!

Cupcake Craft Dash Card

{{{If you are looking for my 1,001 Post and Giveaway click HERE or just scroll down}}}

Hello! I had a few moments to craft today, so I decided to combine the Unity Itty Bitty a Day Facebook challenge with the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge to maximize my time!

I picked my Itty Bitty stamp from the graphic for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Theme Challenge:

And I certainly didn't have any too much time left, let me tell you! DEFINITELY sweating the finish on this one! Amazing how much you fumble and drop things when you are in a hurry! I haven't tried to use Copics yet on a speed challenge...and don't know if I will try it again! Ha!

I used a Spellbinder's Nestabilities Die to cut my main frame panel, and then inked with some distress ink. I actually used two different itty bitty stamp sets. I stamped my image from "more than cupcakes", colored (quickly!) with Copics, then stamped my sentiment from "fabulous girl" with PTI ink.

Layered some My Mind's Eye cardstock together, added some self-adhesive pearls, and a few wraps of jute twine before mounting on Avery Elle Cardstock.

Thanks for swinging by! Hope you are having a fabulous evening!!!
