One last post for My Craft Spot

Good morning! I'm sharing one last DT post over at My Craft Spot this morning, since the store will be closing soon, and the blog wrapping up in the near future as well.

One of the things I loved the most about My Craft Spot stamps were the wonderful birthday sentiments! Birthday cards are by far one of the things I find myself making the most, so I loved having such a wonderful assortment to choose from. I also am particularly fond of large sentiments, so Big Sentiments 2 ended up being one of my favorite stamp sets! Here is a card I made to share today using that set:

I stamped my sentiment on vellum, and heat embossed, before layering on my pattern paper. Added a few wood veneer stars and Metallic sequins to finish it all off.

Remember, everything is on sale to help clear out inventory - so make sure and go grab whatever sets you may be interested in before they are gone!

Thoughts and Prayers Bird

Good evening! Stopping by with a very late entry to Unity Friends with Flair tonight - just in time it would seem!

This is another card I made a while back - when I was busily making sympathy cards for a friend who had requested several. For this one I did a little stenciling with embossing paste, used a die cut panel from Avery Elle, and then stamped the Chicken Wire background and bird from Precious Things - my sentiment came from a My Craft Spot stamp set. Added a twist of jute twine to finish it off!

Have a wonderful evening!!!

Red Roses Merry Christmas

Good morning again! Just thought I would share one more today - I am still in love with these beauties from Altenew, and thought they came together quite lovely on a Christmas card:

I used Altenew's Painted Flowers stamp set, layered several different MFT inks, then added my heat embossed sentiment from My Craft Spot on a banner cut with a Simon Says Stamp die. A little gold thread, some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins, and some matting on a kraft card base - I love it!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share with you!

MCS Challenge - World Shape Christmas Card

Good morning! Excited to share my card with you today for the new challenge at My Craft Spot: Christmas Shape Cards!

I used a file from the Silhouette Store and my Cameo machine to cut out this shape - making it 5 1/2 inches across - nice and big!

I glued the layers together, and added a soft layer of inking with white pigment ink around the edges to help it pop a little.

Next, I die cut a banner using Straight Ribbon Banner Metal Dies, and heat embossing my sentiment on there from Christmas Banner sentiments, then attached it with foam adhesive for a little pop of dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

2014 WCMD Winners Hop and Giveaway

Good morning! You may remember a few weeks ago the winners of the 2014 World Card Making Day were announced, and the winning cards were to be published in the April 2015 issue of Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine. Sadly, now with the ending of this publication in February, the winning cards will no longer be published. Sooooo...we all decided to get together and have a blog hop to share our winning creations, and also giveaway some of the goodies we got in our prize boxes that maybe we already had or didn't need!

You should have hopped here from Mandy LeCroix - the entire blog hop lineup is at the bottom if you just happened along and want to start at the beginning.

I won in the Christmas card category - here is my winning card:

For this, I made a background blending lots of different distress inks, then used a Tim Holtz stencil and some white pigment into to add the "splotchy" layer. My white deer die cut was actually leftover from another project and still laying on my desk - so I decided to add that, then stamped my sentiment from My Craft Spot, added some jute twine around the deer's neck, and then added a fun sprinkling of clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

We are in the process of moving, so I unfortunately don't have a picture of my giveaway goodies right now - but I will box them all up and send them to one lucky person who leaves a comment today! Next stop along the hop is Piali Biswas, so hop on over there next!

Here is the entire blog hop lineup in case you get lost along the way:

Thanks for hopping along with us and celebrating! Have a wonderful day!!!

MCS Challenge - Thanksgiving/Fall

Good morning! A new challenge is starting this morning at My Craft Spot, and this week the theme is Thanksgiving/Fall.

Today is the day we are leaving the wonderful town that has been home for these past 2 1/2 years. Our hearts are so full of thankfulness for the wonderful friends, memories, and church family we have enjoyed in our time here, and also thankful that since the Lord decided to move us, he moved us back near our families in Washington as well. Definitely a bittersweet parting - but we are thankful for it all nonetheless. This card couldn't sum it up better:

Super simple, but I love the non-traditional colors! I layered two pattern papers from an MME paper pad, heat embossed my sentiment from Fall Leaves on vellum, then attached them with some simple machine stitching. That's it! These would be super simple to mass produce as well! :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Welcome Baby Card

Good morning! I'm up on the My Craft Spot Blog this morning with a sweet baby card I made for a baby shower earlier this week:

I used the lovely "Welcome baby" from Big Sentiments 2:

I also used some of the sweet white swirl sequins from Snow Flurry Sequins mix, and one of my favorite embellishments, Ivory Jute String

I used pattern paper from Crate Paper, added a doily, then heat embossed my sentiment on vellum, tearing one edge and stitching it on one side. Attached that with foam adhesive to my card, added a tiny clothespin with my twine, and glued the sequins in place.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

MCS Challenge - Sequins

Good Monday morning! It's time for another challenge at My Craft Spot - and I LOVE this weeks challenge: Sequins! Here is my card:

For my card, I layered a border using Fancy Edges metal dies, and then trimmed the black and green in to strips with my paper cutter. Added a deer silhouette that I cut with my Cameo, and die cut a banner with Straight Ribbon Banner Dies. Added my sentiment from Christmas Banner Sentiments, and a few black sequins from Tuxedo Sequin Mix.

10th Birthday Shaker Card for my Daughter

Good morning! I'm up on the My Craft Spot Blog finally sharing a very special birthday card - this is the card I made for my youngest daughter's 10th birthday!!! Her birthday was in September, and she ended up getting it late, since we had to make a last minute trip home for a family emergency just a little over a week before her birthday. So...I wanted to make it super special for her!

I used one of my favorite birthday sentiment sets for this card - Birthday Wishes:

I also used Fancy Edges Metal Dies for the sweet scallop border:

I used some fun October Afternoon papers to build my card - made the inside of the shaker perfect! I filled it with lots of sequins, then added a few extra on the outside for embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Unicorn Birthday Wishes

Good morning! I'm up on the My Craft Spot Blog sharing a fun little birthday card I made recently for a local friend for her grandaughter's birthday:

I LOVE how I can always find the perfect birthday sentiment in my stash of stamps from My Craft Spot! For this card I used Birthday Wishes:

I used some nice and bright American Crafts pattern paper from an older 6x6 paper pad, and my Silhouette Cameo to cut a round shape card, and that fun unicorn silhouette.

Added some embossing to the front, a circle cut with my Lil' Inker's stitched circles dies, and a bit of machine stitching to one of the layers. Attached each layer with foam adhesive for lots of fun dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

MCS Christmas release hop and GIVEAWAY!!!

Good morning! It's finally release day for the new Christmas stamps at My Craft Spot! SOOO excited for you to see them all! You should have arrived here from Saundra - if no, make sure and head back to the beginning so you don't miss any of the stops (or giveaways!) along the way!

I decided to use one of my favorite new sets from the release again today to make a chalkboard inspired card:

I had so much fun with this card! I started off by cutting the deer out with my Silhouette Cameo, then using the negative as a stencil to apply embossing paste to my chalkboard paper. Once that dried, I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, then added some smudges of white pigment ink. Added a bow using Cherry Red Traditional Baker's Twine, and a few gold sequins from the Metallic sequin mix. I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool, then mounted it on a rustic wood background paper from an MME paper pad. LOVE the effect of this!

You're next stop is one of our amazing guest designer's for this month - Beth! If you get lost, here is the entire hop lineup:

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 4

Good morning! Welcome to day 4 of the new release My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of "Christmas Chalkboard Sentiments" stamp set.

Aside from using the chalkboard sets for the obvious chalkboard technique, I really love heat embossing them in white on vellum - and I love the color combo of white, kraft, and red for Christmas!

I started off by stamping each of the four tiny snowflakes included in this set several times on a panel of kraft cardstock, then heat embossed my sentiment on vellum and attached them with some machine stitching. I used some fun red polka dot paper from MME for my background, and cut some little doilies using Tiny Doilies 2 Metal Dies to tuck behind the front panel. Finished off with some snowflakes from the Snow Flurries sequin pack

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 3

Good morning! Welcome to day 3 of the new release My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of "Tiny Tags - Christmas."

The first thing to catch my eye was this fun little star with the word "merry" under it - a perfect little rustic and fun image! Instead of stamping it on tags, I stamped it on a row of tickets cut with Tickets Metal Dies, then colored them in with my Copic markers.

I added some fun pattern paper from October Afternoon, a zig zag border cut with Fancy Edges 2 Metal Dies, and a wrap of some lovely May Arts ribbon that I think looks a little like burlap, but much softer with a more linen texture. Finished off with some Cherry Red Traditional Baker's Twine and a little red button.

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 2

Good morning! Welcome to day 2 of the new release My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of one of my favorites called "O Holy Night."

I still love watercolors so much - and these sentiments seemed perfect to pair up with a silhouette nativity scene, so I made a watercolor background for my card:

I started off stamping and heat embossing my sentiment, then created a background with watercolors - I went with non-traditional colors, since they reminded me of some of the beautiful Wyoming sunsets we have been enjoying and will miss very soon when we make our move! I cut the nativity scene with my Silhouette Cameo and glued it straight down. Also love that this is a one layer card!

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 1

Good morning! It's time for another release from My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - starting with today's called "Naughty or Nice."

I used today's to make these fun little treats for Christmas - they are actually super yummy, although rather rich, more like a candy! You can find the recipe for my "coal" HERE - basically a recipe for Rice Crispy Treats, but substitute crushed Oreos for the Rice Crispy Cereal!

I actually packaged them up in clear bags that I have for holding my cards - they worked perfectly! I stamped each sentiment from this set on frames that I cut using Ornate Labels Metal Dies. I added some distress ink to the edges to soften them a little.

Next, I wrapped up my packages with some Cranberry Crinkle Ribbon, and added some Natural Jute String as well.

My Craft Spot Challenge - Cute Fall

{If you're looking for my Newton's Nook Day 1 Release Post, click HERE or scroll down to the last post}

Good morning! Happy to be back to playing along with challenges at My Craft Spot - and today is the beginning of a new one. The challenge this week is Too Cute to Spook, and since I don't do Halloween, I decided to make a fall card. It's not spooky, so that fits, right?

For this card, I wrapped some new baker's twine (I believe will be in the My Craft Spot store very soon!) around a white cardstock panel, then die cut that cute leaf using my Silhouette Cameo and some Basic Grey pattern paper and attached it over the top. Added a sentiment from Fall Leaves stamp set, then mounted it on a plain white card base.

Simple and sweet! Thanks for stopping by today - have a wonderful day!!!
