LID Christmas Release - Day 3

Hello! It's the third and final day of the blog hop to celebrate the fun new release at Lil' Inker Designs - a super fun mix of stamps and dies in this release! I'm back with more fun inspiration with some of the new dies this time! You should have arrived here from Chrissy Larson - if you stopped by here you can refer to the entire blog hop at the bottom so you don't miss a stop or a chance to win the amazing giveaway. I also have links to all the new products I used on today's cards!

Today's cards feature some fun with letters and words! This first card I used the new Peace, Love, & Joy stamp set - a fun set that has two part stamping options for the letters to build these three words. I couldn't choose just one, so I used all 3 on my card! It's hard to see, but I used the smaller part of each letter to stamp in Delicata Gold Pigment Ink - which adds a subtle shine.

To emphasize the words, I added "joy" and "peace" from Rustic Christmas underneath their respective words, and since I couldn't find "love" in the same font I added some little hearts from Greetings & Salutations to reinforce that word in a visual way.

Next up, I used the FABULOUS new Joy to the World Stamp set - this one is PERFECT for making Christmas cards with a simple focal point!

I heat embossed it with some fabulous new Lawn Fawn Rose Gold Embossing powder that I picked up recently and hadn't had a chance to try - LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I added some pattern paper to the top and bottom trimmed with Border Builders Die Set, and tied on a bit of jute twine to finish off.

It was hard to capture it with a photo, but check out the pretty shine this has:

Your next stop along the blog hop is Jennifer Carter - head over there next to finish the hop before you go shopping.

And now the really fun part! One lucky person is going to win THE ENTIRE RELEASE! Winner will be chosen from comments left along the hop - so the more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!

Here is the entire Blog Hop line-up - make sure and check out each stop and leave your comments:

Winnie and Walter - BIGGER Bang Confetti and SALE

Good morning! I'm joining the amazing ladies over at Winnie and Walter this morning to promote a fun limited edition stamp set that they are GIVING away during their Black Friday thru Cyber Monday sale! SOOO fun! It was a little last minute, so I didn't have as much time to play with it as I would have liked, but I have a feeling this stamp set will be coming out to play again very soon!

I created a watercolor background in a fun bold pink, then stamped random circle elements from the stamp set in white pigment ink, then stamped over in gold ink. Added some of the diamond shapes in pink SSS ink, then some of the fun sequins that I got as one of the fun freebies from Winnie and Walter in my package. Finished off by stitching that panel at the top to my card base - one of my favorite simple ways to attach a watercolor panel to a card base!

Here is all the sale info - make sure and sign up for the newsletter as well - you can find that on the side of the blog page HERE:

Here are links to most of the supplies I used on this card - thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Good morning everyone! I'm posting again this morning on the Butterfly Reflections Blog sharing this card I made for my dad's birthday last week - he turned 70! Definitely a big one that needed to be celebrated! We were able to pull off a surprise party for him after church Sunday before last - which was amazing! We were so happy to have been able to surprise him that way!

Since this was a guy card, I wanted to make sure it was simple and masculine - which is always a challenge for me! I used some pattern paper from Crate Paper's 6x6 Journey Paper Pad - fussy cutting those chevrons out to add some fun color. I built the sentiment using Altenew's versatile Birthday Greetings Stamp set - I make more birthday cards than anything else, and I love having lots of fun options to build the sentiment I want! I used another Altenew set to stamp the "dad" to personalize it, and you might notice that I stamped out the entire birthday song by masking my sentiments a little bit! Finished off by stamping the balloons from the same set and Hero Arts Ombre ink pad (SOOOO fun for balloons - I'm in LOVE with it for that I think!), and some confetti using a tiny dot stamp from that set.

This is a completely one layer card - would be perfect for mailing to someone special as well! Thanks for stopping by this morning! If you haven't checked out the Butterfly Reflections Ink Store before - I hope you'll go take a peek! Tell Vanessa I sent you over! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Good Luck - Sparkle and Shine Challenge #1

Good morning! Super excited this morning, because today is the start of the very first challenge over at Sparkle and Shine Challenge Blog - a challenge dedicated to sequins! There is also a prize from Pretty Pink Posh for grabs, so I hope you'll join us and play along - just make sure and use sequins on your creation! Here is my card for the first challenge:

I decided to go without a literal shamrock, but use the green and the idea of "luck" for my card! I used some MFT cardstock, and sponged a hazy section in the corner with white pigment ink and gold ink, then heat embossed a sentiment from Avocado Arts on a strip of black cardstock to ground the adorable elephant from Wplus9 designs. I used some Silver Star sequins, Fresh Mint sequins, and Sparkling Clear sequins to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see everyone play along with this fun new challenge! Have a wonderful day!!!

100 Watercolor Christmas Cards!

Good morning! I am super excited this morning to be sharing my Christmas cards for the year! We have been getting ready to move - and I have been trying to get ahead on my Design Team projects, so I really didn't think that I would get them done this year at all. But...I was super excited to have a little free time one day and get 50 of them done...along with a bunch of other things on my list! YAY!

They worked out to be the perfect card for mass producing...and I am even more excited, because every single one is unique and different! I repeated color schemes for each 5 cards, so I have 20 different colors schemes, but watercoloring allows for unique variations on each card even still. The other thing I struggle with, is a one layer and mailable card, that still has dimension somehow. For these cards I sewed the top of the watercolor paper directly to my card base, which allows it to mail flat, but when it comes out of the envelope, it drapes so pretty! I just LOVE it!

Here is the entire pile all lined up:

I also realized that the touches of gold made this perfect to link up with Virginia's View Challenge: All Things Metallic:

I watercolored the background, stamped my sentiment, added the little stars from the same set using Gold ink, then added a spritz of Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine - once that all dried, I sewed it onto my card bases.

And...be warned! Picture heavy post! I thought I would link the 20 different combinations of colors I ended up with...so here they all are in their close up glory!

Whew...that's a lot of pictures! Here they all are together one last time!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Bokeh Effect Card for MCS

Good morning!  I'm sharing a card at My Craft Spot this morning with one of the new stamps sets that just released last week! I love trying to find different creative ways to use my stamps sets - I think it makes them more versatile in so many ways! For this one I used the new set called Clock Time to create a "bokeh" effect on my card:

Here is the stamp set - do you see the small circles I used? I also stamped some clocks over the top when I finished, and added a sentiment, framed by some of the pretty flourishes on the set.

I used some Hero Arts Ink, and Delicata Golden Glitz ink to stamp my circles, stamping each one 2 or 3 times before re-inking. This gives the look of more colors, even though I only used two ink pads! See those washi tape strips on the sides? Those were actually hiding some finger smudge marks I accidentally made when I was almost finished with the card! I didn't want to start over, and that seemed a great way to cover them up! :-)

I love that this is just a flat, one layer card - perfect for mailing, but has lots of dimension at the same time! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!
