Watercoloring with Dye Inks - Sweet Puppies

Good morning! Dropping by to share a couple more cards with the new release at Unity Stamps from last night! There are a TON of new stamps - and they are all amazing! I am sharing a couple more today, along with a Quick Tip video I made on watercoloring with dye ink pads - great when you either don't yet have watercolors, or want to match a particular color of cardstock that you might have coordinating ink for!

Here is the video showing how I did it - super easy!

Once the watercoloring dried, I simply attached the panel with machine stitching at the top to my card base. I love doing this - since it attaches the paper to the card, but leaves it hanging free - simple, flat, and still dimensional!

I also made another one using the little boy image - couldn't resist using them both!

These images are just darling!

Lots of sales this week/weekend as well! Unity always does their biggest sale before Thanksgiving, instead of black Friday, so that the Unity peeps can spend time with their family.

Here is my supply list! I didn't list each ink color - but the inks I used can all be found HERE - distress inks would also work fabulously! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Unity Hop - Vintage Card with Quick Tip Video

Good evening!!! YAY for Tuesday night hopping with Unity Stamps! No new releases tonight, but it was super fun pulling out some older stamps to play - I made a card inspired by vintage children's storybooks - with a Quick Tip video below as well! Here is my card for tonight's hop:

Here is that Quick Tip Video - I had to speed it up quite a bit, but hopefully you can get the idea! :)

You can see the details in the video, and supplies are linked below! After the video finished, I added a doily, some jute string, and that little flower to finish it off!

The warehouse sale is continuing - with lots of great deals, so if there are some stamps you have been wanting to add to your stash, now is a great time!!!

There is also a gift certificate up for grabs, for comments left along the hop - or if you link up your project and hop along with us!

Here is the rest of the links for the Design Team - make sure and visit everyone to see the new stamps in action - and leave some love for a chance to win this weeks giveaway! Then, go link up and play along with us! :)

Blog Birthday Giveaway #3 - Avery Elle

Good evening!!! So - this little blog is celebrating FIVE years this month - on October 20th!!! I can hardly believe it has been that long, and yet in some ways I don't remember not doing this. I have been SOOOO incredibly blessed by all the amazing people I have met through this hobby - and so incredibly lucky to work with some AMAZING products and companies. To celebrate I have lined up TONS of giveaways from some of these amazing places. HUGE thanks to each of them for their generous donations of prizes - I'm super excited to be able to share them with you!

Tonight I am featuring Avery Elle stamps! The owner, Jamie, sent me a brand new Lot of Love stamp set to giveaway! This set was actually one of my first Avery Elle sets - and I loved what a unique Valentine set it was - and I know we are thinking fall and Christmas right now, but Valentine's will be here before we know it! So this set will be very timely for whoever wins! Avery Elle has some phenomenal dies - very unique and versatile that I have been loving! They also have such a fun combination of cute and classy stamps - LOVE the variety you can find, and always look forward to seeing the new releases!

Here is my card to share tonight - actually the card I made for my youngest daughter's 11th birthday - can you tell she LOVES animals?

I'm also playing along with Avery Elle's Challenge blog - this week the challenge is to Think Pink (All the little "woof" words in the background? Stamped in pink if you notice!):

I started off with Furry Friends and stamped a background with several colors of MFT ink and some of the smaller stamp images in the set. I then stamped and colored the dogs, cat, and accessories, colored them with Copics, and fussy cut out. Added a stamped sentiment from Cake & Candles (an awesome birthday sentiment set!) and heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock. Attached it all with foam adhesive over my stamped background to form the cute little scene. Oh - and my daughter loved it - the real test!

You can enter the giveaway below using Rafflecopter - this is my first time using this method for a giveaway, but since I have so many to do this month I thought it might help make it easier! So - if there are any bumps along the way, please forgive me as I figure them out?

All giveaways will stay open until the 20th (the official birthday date!) and I will announce all winners that day! If you already follow on Pinterest, Youtube, or Facebook - feel free to leave your name for each day of giveaways, no need to be a new follower only!

Have a wonderful day - and good luck!

Watercolor Floral Thanks - Sparkle and Shine Challenge

Good morning! YAY for a new challenge at the Sparkle and Shine Challenge Blog - this week we have a beautiful photo inspiration, and a prize sponsored by Pretty Pink Posh!

Here is the photo inspiration we have to play with this time around:

I used the watercolor and splashes of color on white for my inspiration - seriously so many different things you could do with this one! I used Wplus9's Watercolored Anemones and MFT ink to create my background. Stamped the base images, then misted with water and allowed to dry. Went over with the extra images in the same color - which looks darker because the water softened the first layer! Added a sentiment with Hand Lettered Thanks, and, of course, some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Tangerine, Lemon Meringue, and Pansy. Finished off with a few flicks of black Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

I hope you will join in and play along! Looking forward to seeing your creations! Have a wonderful day!!!

Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Reverse Ink Smooshing

Good morning! Stopping by with another card and video using some of the newly released stamps from Unity Stamp Company - and a fun new technique with a a Quick Tip video - Reverse Ink Smooshing:

Here is that video - basically your typical ink smooshing, only instead of spraying water on the ink on your clear panel, you spray the paper, and then smoosh the dry ink into the paper. Gives you a bit more control - you can see it best in this video:

I also used the current colors for the Be Inspired Challenge - aren't they so bright and fun?!?!?

My panel on the front was cut with Lil' Inker's Side Stitched Rectangle Mats, and the sentiment is from the new Unity Sentiment kit, Believe in the Magic. I also added some Glossy Accents with a fine tip applicator to the larger words in the sentiment and the snowflakes. This photo shows it best:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Lil' Inker Designs - September MM Challenge and SALE

Hello! It's time for a new Monthly Meetup Challenge at Lil' Inkers Designs! This time we have an inspiration photo - as well as a special sale for the occasion!

I decided to try my hand at stamping out my own pattern paper using some of the newest release from Lil' Inkers. I am SOOO happy to have fall starting to share little hints of arriving - and these colors just made me happy and inspired!

I used one of the newest releases for my card - Seen on Halloween. Every stamp I used on this came from that set!

I started off with plain white cardstock, and then used some MFT dye inks to stamp out my images. Once that was done, I added some splatters with Dark Calico Mister Huey's Ink, and some gold splatters with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold. Finished off with a deep brown card base and some jute twine tied at the top!

Here is the featured die set that is on sale - so very beautiful!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will join in and play along with the challenge - can't wait to see what you create! :)

Lil' Inker's September Release - Day 1

Hello! It's time for a new release at Lil' Inker Designs! Fall is definitely in the air this week with the new release. I don't know about anyone else, but here in the Northwest it has been HOT and DRY - the rain that started this past weekend is so very welcome, along with the cooler days. I'm looking forward to hot soup, fresh bed, and cozy nights curled up by the fire with a cup of tea and a good book...some of my favorite things!

Of course, one of the things I so often associate with fall is pumpkins - so I thought I would start off today with a couple different projects using some of the new fall pumpkins. First off, one using the new stamp set called Seen on Halloween:

Here is a picture of that new stamp set:

I stamped it on a kraft tag that I cut out with Anytime Tags Die Set - using colored MFT inks, with some washi tape under the image to ground it. Added some ribbon and jute twine to the tag, then layered everything up with some torn vellum and pretty pattern paper. Finished off with some enamel dots and some splatters with some white Mister Huey's mist.

Next up, there is a coordinating die set for this stamp set - Seen on Halloween Dies - that works well combined with the image, but because of the unique design with the added stitching options, it also works amazingly well on it's own for some of the images! In particular, that large pumpkin looked like the perfect die to make a pretty fall shaker card with:

Here is a peak at that die set - see how there are separate pieces to add the stitching? So fun and versatile!

I also used a sentiment from this lovely new set:

I also used Stitched Mats: Rectangles to add the stitching to my card base, as well as cut out the center panel. I added my sentiment from another new release, So Thankful, heat embossed in white.

The shaker is filled with a fun assortment of goodies from Pretty Pink Posh - Lime, Lemon Meringue, and Tangerine sequins (didn't realize what a citrus combination that was until I wrote it down!), gold star sequins, and white seed beads. :)

And now the fun part! There is, of course, a chance to win some shopping money to spend on the new goodies! YAY! Laura is giving away 3 gift certificates for random comments left along the hop - so the more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!

Here is the entire Blog Hop line-up - make sure and check out each stop and leave your comments:
