FWF - A Quick Boy Card!

Good morning! I wanted to share a card today for Unity FWF that I actually made a couple of weeks ago and hadn't had time to post yet! I had a baby shower for a friend who had just had a baby boy - who they named Wyatt! Doesn't that name just scream out cowboy?!?!? So the day of the shower, I had gone with my husband to purchase a new truck...which took WAY longer than I expected. So I got home and only had about 15 minutes to put a card together...good think it was for a boy! If it had been a girl one, there is NO way I could have thrown it together in time!
I had just received this stamp in the mail as a prize winning, so I was itching to ink it up! I stamped and quickly colored it with Copics (please don't look too closely at the mistakes!)
Added a sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps, and matted it on October Afternoon Sasparilla paper.
Also inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink, and added some PTI twine tied in a knot.
Hope you are having a wonderful Friday - and have a

Unity Stamps June Sketch

Good morning! I was hoping to get something better made for this months sketch challenge over at Unity KOTM Sketch Challenges, but looks like this is going to have to do!
Here is the sketch:

I actually kind of liked this card, but right at the end of coloring the image with my Copics, I messed up on the hearts! I tried to fix it - but I think I just made it worse! However, at the time, I didn't have enough time to completely recolor the image...so it had to do.
I used a bunch of October Afternoon papers from their 9 to 5 smaller paper pad - 8x8, and the little star came from the miscellany pack of the same line. Even the button is from that collection! LOVE the colors of the 9 to 5 line...actually anything from October Afternoon!
I inked all the layers, and added a bit of doodling - which is the other part I wasn't entirely happy with...
Finished off with some jute twine and ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

My Craft Spot - Hot Summer Colors Challenge!

I hope everyone is able to enjoy summer wherever they are - and that it isn't too hot! But, it is perfect timing to celebrate summer, and the new challenge over at My Craft Spot is Hot Summer Colors!!! I hope you'll come join the fun with us! Here is my project:
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the scallop frame, and the popsicles. The cut file for the popsicles is from Echo Park, and can be found in the Silhouette store (click HERE to view it if you're interested). I don't remember what cut file I used for the scallop background...sorry about that!
All the pattern paper is from Echo Park - the yellow, pink, and blue is from the Dots and Stripes Fountain 6x6 paper pad, and the striped background is from an older 6x6 paper pad, Summer Days.
I used kraft paper to cut the popsicle sticks - isn't it perfect for that?
I then used three different kinds of twine to get the colors I wanted: Divine Twine in Lemon Divine, Trendy Twine in Strawberry Cupcake, and Twinery Twine in Caribbean. I tied on some cute tags that were stamped using the Tiny Tags stamp set from My Craft Spot. Here is a close up of each tag:

I wrapped some hand dyed crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot in Sunshine Yellow, Hot Pink, and Caribbean to wrap around the background pattern paper.
I then attached the popsicles with foam adhesive, and then attached the scallop frame to the card base with foam adhesive.
Well, that's it! Sorry for so many pictures! Hope to see you join in the fun with us this week! Head over to My Craft Spot to check out all the details - as well as the prize up for grabs this week!

Unity Friends with Flair - Wanna Chill out?

Happy Friday!!! Hope everyone has been able to enjoy some nice sunshine and summery weather! Since it's Friday, I am joining in again with this weeks Unity Friends with Flair using the brand new June Kit of the Month I hadn't had time to use until now! Here is what I made:
Isn't that the CUTEST image EVER?!?!?! As soon as I saw this months kit, I fell in LOVE with this one!
So, I colored it in a bit with my Copic markers, then added a coat of Glossy Accents over the top of it. LOVE the shine it adds!
I also used my Copics on the sentiment, and added Glossy Accents over the word "chill."
All the papers are Basic Grey Up Up & Away 6x6 paper pad. I added some Baker's Twine from the Twinery, and some lace from Ribbon Carousel.
I added some Baker's Twine from the Twinery, and some lace from Ribbon Carousel.
Since I used my tape runner to adhere the lace, there was a bit of adhesive exposed, so I sprinkled some glitter on it to add a little frosty sparkle. It doesn't show very much, but I think it is kind of fun!
Finished off with a bit of teal bling!
I am also linking this up to the Unity Stamps June Challenge - Summer! Who doesn't like ice cubes on a hot summer day?!?!?

As always - thanks for stopping by to see me! Hope you have a wonderful Friday, and fabulous weekend!

Throwback Thursday Color Challenge Challenge

Hello! Coming in at the last minute (again!) with another challenge! This is for the Throwback Thursday Challenge over at My Creative Time. My Gypsy is broken, and it took me forever to make a card with my Cricut without my Gypsy! So...that is why the layers on this are pretty simple!!! Anyway, here is what I made:
And here is the color challenge. Cute, isn't it?

I used what I hope counts as an older cartridge by now - Love you a Latte - to cut out the chairs, and the kraft fancy frame.
Inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink, and ran the kraft paper through my Cuttlebug.
The blue and green paper are from October Afternoon, and the sentiment frame was cut using one of Emma's early dies. The sentiment is also from Emma's stamps - from her last release, Celebrate Good Times.
I used foam adhesive to attach the chair, and the sentiment piece.
And finished off by wrapped some jute twine from Ribbon Carousel around several times, and tying a nice loopy bow!
It ends tonight, so there is still a little time for this challenge - and the winner takes home her entire new release coming later this week! And the sneaks are ADORABLE!!! So run over and join in soon if you have some time today!

Market Street Stamps and June SFYTT

Hello! Our house officially went on the market yesterday morning, and we already have a showing this evening! YIKES! Kind of scary, crazy, and exciting all at the same time. So in between running around and tidying up the house yesterday, I managed to get this made for the Market Street Stamps Paint the Town Color Challenge, as well as the I{heart}2stamp June Sketch for You to Try - the sentiment is especially appropriate right now it seems!
Here is the color combo:

And here is the sketch:

I really  just am in love with the little Market Street Stamps set! The sentiment is so inspiring - especially with where I am at in my life right now facing so many changes with a move to another state for the first time in my life - and the butterflies are just plain GORGEOUS! I used some Spellbinders dies to cut and emboss the shapes, and some Basic Grey PB&J papers from a 6x6 paper pad.
The butterflies are stamped with Tim Holtz ink, then cut out and adhered in the center, and the wings curled up and around slightly.
I also added some lace, cotton twill ribbon, and jute twine from Ribbon Carousel, as well as a PTI green button.
I love how lumpy and bumpy and dimensional this card is!
Finished off by using a paper piercer to add some holes around the outside of the card, and the outside of the sentiment frame, and added a little sprinkle of bling.
I am also entering this in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #33.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off to spend a lot of time tidying up our house to be ready for the showing this evening. Fingers crossed that it all works out well!

MFT Getting Sketchy #76 and Playdate Cafe

Yep...I'm behind this week and catching up on two challenges at once - and keeping it simple at the same time! This is for the My Favorite Things Getting Sketchy Challenge #76, and the Playdate Cafe Color Challenge for this week. Here is my card:
Here is the sketch:

And here is the color palette:

I don't know about you, but when I saw these colors, I immediately thought of my Basic Grey Plumeria papers!
I quickly colored up a little PI girl, and cut her out to attach to my card.
Layered together my papers from the 6x6 paper pad...
...and attached her and her kite with pop-dots.
That's it! Super simple and easy!
I will hopefully have some time to get something posted again soon - but for now, hope you have a wonderful day!!!
