Total Ripoff (Total Recall Comparison - 1990 vs 2012)
My exact thoughts on all this Total Recall-stuff put on this shiny video by Cinestir on youtube.
Also, damn! I remember the producers/director talking about why this wasn't on Mars. ("oh, it's a brand new take on Philip K Dick's novel" "we wanted to make something new and different" etc.) But in the end they just remade the same exact movie, to the spot-on details. Only not on Mars.
Also I find this "remake" to follow way too closely Scharzy & Verhoeven's movie than the original "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" novel...
Anyway, check this out:

Movie NEWS! Total Recall actual trailer
And here's the actual trailer for the new Total Recall!
...which just looks like a big mess of CGi effects, a CGi city, CGi shots, CGi stuff, CGi things, etc..
Looks decent though...as far as these sort of blockbusters go.
I guess I'll be watching back the Schwarzy one instead, heh? :P
Why do all these modern movies need to focus so much on the shiny CGi and grittier reimagining these days? It feels like the same movie every new release!

Movie NEWS! Total Recall teaser trailer
The Total Recall movie is happening!
This new adaptation of Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" is gonna be directed by Underworld director Len Wiseman.
And even though it is billed as a new adaptation/reboot, it might actually be part remake of the classic Scharzy movie and prequel, since it's gonna be set on Earth.
It will star Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel amongst others.
And here's the teaser trailer:
The kids are blinded by the shiny CGi, and I find this lacking the fun and simple charm the Schwarzenegger version had... This feels so "cold".

Jimmy Kimmel Live - Movie: The Movie
Dat Jimmy Kimmel... gotta love his parodies.
He did it. The impossible. The ultimate film.
For the Oscars' night, Kimmel did the final movie, the sum of all these years of movies success, the parody of 'em all.
Check it out, it like nothing else, it's...
So many cameos! So many memes! So many actors! So many genres!
(evn Guilermo makes an appearance! :P)
This probably took a long time to do, I can imagine him borrowing a little time from all his previous guest over this past year.
Epic beyond words!
