CBR Rocketeer Adventures

He's back!
Who is? Well, The Rocketeer, of course!

After IDW was able to work the rights with Dave Stevens (before his passing) and realized this gorgeous recolored deluxe edition of the original adventures of Cliff, they decided to give another flight to our rocket propelled hero.

Instead of making that long rumored new on-going series, they went into another direction.
Cliff would live many more new adventures, but as stand alone on shots through the voices and hands of various new artists.

Don't miss out my previous Rocketeer-related reviews!

CBR Rann–Thanagar War

Time for some more Mystery in Space!!

Rann–Thanagar War was a direct sequel to Planet Heist.
It was one of the stories DC released as part of the hype to build up yet another event called Infinite Crisis (alongside Villains United, OMAC Project and Day of Vengeance).

I usually tend to avoid big epic crossovers and mega-events (if they're not Green Lantern related or assigned to way too many authors to be properly coordinated)...but being the first, and only Adam Strange centric one, this was a must read for scifi comics fans.

At least..that's what I thought.
Surely a mini-event following a mini-series, both leading into another bigger event cannot be that bad...can it?

CBR:Quickies The Atom

I already reviewed another Atom comics, his big epic storyline Sword of the Atom!
Since then I either wanted to review more of what is available of this character or that other Atom Ryan Choi.

But you know what? There isn't a lot of Ray Palmer Atom-related comics in the modern DC Universe.
So here's some Quickies on all of the Atom one-shots and specials ever published by DC since the mid-80s!
For fans of the Tiny Titans, it's more precisely all the current canon comics available nowadays at comic stores.
Not silver age rare out of print comics (other than a recent reprint or two), nor showcases.
Just all of The Atom's single issues printed in these last couple of years!

CBR:Quickies Green Lantern (2)

Here's a 2nd feature about Green Lantern books!
(to check my previous one, use the CBR button above!)

I was going to review all the Blackest Night-event books...but before date, I wanted to have a look back at older comics~

Dave Gibbons - Digital Drawing

At the wacomeurope's youtube channel there's some very neat videos of artist Dave Gibbons drawing methods.

The man himself with a fantastic funny sculpt of Rorschach from monkeywiz's blog.

I really like the guy, one of my favorite artists and a very good writer too!
He's the other half behind the Watchmen, wrote my favorite issues of the Green Lantern Corps current run and worked on the artwork and graphics of the adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky for example.

If you want to check out his instructive videos, are interested in this artist's techniques or are just curious about drawing, hit the players below~

CBR:Quickies Green Lantern

Today I'm gonna review a bunch of the current Green Lantern stuff since Geoff Johns resurrected the character & brand! All books since the relaunch, up until just before the Blackest Night event~
(since it wasn't all released in paperback form and it will be better to have a look at the whole Blackest night when everything will be available)

We'll check some pre-Geoff Johns book some other time!
