Black Sarcophagi Matter ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿง๐Ÿคฏ

This created image above is a strange black object in the McMurdo dry valley of Antarctica.

Blurry Close Up.  What could it be?๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคจ

The LI article starts off with how this was/is a very cold winter in Antarctica (which does not jibe with global warming concerns). Fair enough. Then it switches about strange black sarcophagi found under the ice. An international team thinks they may be extraterrestrial? That sounds like a pretty big deal.  Or is this just fake news?

I am not saying it's aliens...

16 Japanese Whalers eaten alive by Orcas? Update: Too good to be true, story reported to be a hoax... (yes, I know that is shocking)

The crew of the MV Nisshin Maru (ๆ—ฅๆ–ฐไธธ), Japan’s primary whaling vessel and the world’s only whaler factory ship, was forced to leave the deck temporarily as a gas leak was detected within the ship’s processing factory that resulted in the ship being temporarily disabled all while continuing to carry approximately 1,000 tons of oil.
The resulting panic lead members of the ship to jump off the boat before proper emergency procedures were taken and lifeboats had been set to sea. The swimming crew members were then ferociously attacked by a school of killer whales, that decimated a large number of the crew within moments. “It was horrific” claims Asuka Kumara, a mechanical engineer who witnessed the gruesome scene. “The water was red with blood, there were bodies everywhere” he recalls in tears.

The Collapse of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet Cannot Be Stopped!

It is like the tide coming in!
Beyond this "collapse" requiring 200 to 1000 years, it is also "inevitable" and has been recognized as such (at least according to the article) from the 1970s.  So (assuming this is true) is this the result of global warming? The article does not even say that other to suggest greenhouse gas emissions might influence it one way or the other.

Canute 2
Although if anyone could stop the West Antarctic Ice Sheet Collapse, Al Gore can!  Where ever Al Gore goes, it seems to snow and get colder.

There is always fertility management to stop climate change!  So the solution is to prevent Al Gore from breeding and to place him permanently on the West Antarctic Ice Sheet.  Win-Win!

Are gentle sea pigs endangered by voracious king crabs coming up from the depths thanks to global warming?

Okay, sea pigs are interesting creatures.  They are actually a sea cucumber, which is a animal.

Are they really in danger of extinction in Antarctica due to king crabs invading their habitat due to global warming?  Probably not since they live in virtually all the worlds oceans and seem to thrive in deep water (where there are plenty of crabs).

Sea Pig Song (language warning)!

Are king crabs really poised to kill all endemic invertebrate sea life in Antarctica?

King crabs from the deep invading shallow Antarctic waters
and eating gentle invertebrates!
[start screaming now!]
I am a bit skeptical.  I would suspect crabs occasionally move in and out of areas.  Cycles in the Antarctic are not necessarily seasonal, but I find it hard to believe there have not been periods of warming over 30 million years.  The article claims that this unique underwater ecosystem in Antarctica has been protected and isolated for 30 million years, but this comment at the article makes a good point:
Comment by Carlyle on another article: "So although the West antarctic melted entirely 3 million years ago, the original authors claim the crabs MAY have been excluded for fourteen My, just for luck SIAM doubled it & then rounded up a further 2 My & when I challenged them they deleted my post. I hope you can begin to see that this is not aberant behaviour. It is typical. You can look up the Ice record for Antarctica yourself if you doubt me. There could even have been later melts & almost certainly numerous times that match the present." I did not see the original post, but why would SA delete this?
I am guessing these "monsters" are delicious with drawn butter!
Maybe we can convince the Japanese to leave the whales alone and focus on this ocean menace!
