Manly Monday Iris Folding fish card

This is an image from "the drawer". I did this iris folding technique years ago. I made the background with blue Distress ink. I used a Fiskars border punch as a stencil at the top. It created a nice wave. The image is from Stamp N Scrappin. The sentiment is a sticker by Mrs. Grossman. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Iris Folding Sailboat card

I used an iris folding stamp by Stampin Plus Scrappin
The sentiment is by Fiskars
The die- cuts are by Spellbinders with eyelets at the ends
The patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View

This card is a repeat from years ago that I never fixed. The sailboat is an iris folding technique and it tends to be heavy. I needed a stronger card base to support it. I believe it's
 THIS CARD.
But I'm not 100% sure because if you look at the two cards side by side the inking looks darker on the other card. Hmm
I guess it shows the importance of good lighting when taking your pictures.

Thanks for looking
PS
I like this sentiment better because it's bold and stands out from the busy paper. Plus I was able to use some eyelets. 2020 goal: use more eyelets, brads, and ribbon from my stash.

Stamp N Plus Wedding Card

Stamp N Plus iris folding stamps are so amazing to work with. This dress stamp can be found HERE and other dress stamps can be found HERE or HERE.

I used a silver and white patterned paper, which is very old with no manufacturer on it. Then I added tiny little flowers by Stamping Scrapping to the top and one in the center right. There is a row of rhinestones at the waist of the dress and inside each flowers center. These rhinestones are by Imaginsce.

I matted the dress onto black cardstock and then onto a gray card base. I embellished with some corner stickers and a sentiment all by Me and My Big Ideas.

Iris folding Easter card.

I LOVE this card. The Easter basket iris folding stamp by Stamp N Plus is so stunning. Take a look.

I stamped the image onto Tim Holtz distress watercolor paper, that's a mouthful, and then cut out the center. The patterned paper I used for the folding is by DCWV and the lines match up better then if I actually tried for them too. I colored the rest of the image in with distress markers and a water pen by Ranger. I used a Wink of Stella pen on some of the eggs and animals.

The patterned paper is by Daisy D's (old) and the cardstock is by Recollections. The lattice pattern die cut was cut out with the Cricut (Ribbons and Rosettes) with the egg sticker by Doodlebug Designs. The sentiment sticker is by Reminisce.

One more look at that fun iris stamp by Stamp N Plus.

Save Santa a trip

The Christmas season is well on its way and I have a beautiful Christmas card using a Stamp N Plus stamp. The tree stamp is one of the many iris folding stamps that Stamp N Plus carries. If you are interested in purchasing this tree stamp please call Luann at 715-271-1873.

I stamped the tree onto cream cardstock and proceeded to cut out the center. Then using a light patterned paper from my local scrapbook store I used the stamp guide to fold the paper and create the iris look. I matted the image on Making Memories patterned paper and placed two little Jolee's present stickers under the tree. The sentiment is a sticker by Momenta and I positioned it on a Spellbinders die that is popped up with foam adhesive. The patterned paper of the die is by Recollections.

Then once the card was all set up I sprayed it with Stardust powdered chalk mixed with water. You can see a little bit of the sparkle on the close up view.

Stamp N Plus Ornament iris folding Card

Today's card is being posted at the Stamp N Plus blog for the iris folding stamp and sentiment are both by them. I love this swirl effect for this ornament stamp. Read on to see the supplies I used to make this card.

My card base is Neenah Solar white cardstock as well as the white cardstock  for the iris folding stamp. I stamped the image with Real Red Stampin Up ink and used patterned paper by Karen Foster and Recollections for the red and green. The background papers are by DCWV (Light green) and American Crafts (diagonal stripes). The border punch used on the left side is by Fiskars. It, the punched border, hangs slightly over the edge. The red cardstock behind the image is by Stampin Up.

The sentiment stamp is part of sheet of sentiments that you can purchase. I've included a picture of the sentiments on the bottom of this post. If you are interested call Luann at 715-271-1873. I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts black ink.

Christmas Ornament

Hey everyone, I'm posting over at the Stamp N Plus blog today using one of their iris folding stamps to create my beautiful card. I love the swirl effect you can get with different colored patterned papers.
I stamped the ornament in Real Red by Stampin Up onto cream cardstock by Recollections. The red patterned paper is by Karen Foster and the other two are unknown. The small border near the bottom is washi tape. I punched out a scallop circle out of kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co and stamped the sentiment using green Versa Color ink. The sentiment stamp is by Inkadinkado.

Halloween Iris folding Caldron Card

Hey, everyone-Happy weekend to you.

Today I have a Halloween card to share and it uses an iris folding stamp by Stamp N Plus. In the first picture, you will see the cauldron has been iris folded with some old Creative Memories paper. The paper had splashes of white in it and therefore I covered those white spots using Black Soot distress ink and an ink blender to make it appear all black. I colored the rest of the image using a water pen and distress ink or markers all by Ranger Industries. I should have used watercolor paper for this coloring technique but I always tend to think of those things in retrospect.

The orange patterned paper is from a beach stack by DCWV; purple cardstock by Bazzill; green spiderwebs and black bones paper are by K and Co.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Heartfelt Thanks SNP

Welcome Saturday-I missed you! I'm posting over at the Stamp N Plus blog today with a fun iris folding card using one of their stamps as my guide and a sentiment stamp to finish the card up. Neither one of these stamps is in the web store so if you would like order them call Luann at 715-271-1873. However they have a huge selection of iris folding stamps to choose from which you can start on page 1 right HERE and for some other heart shaped iris folding stamps look HERE or HERE or HERE and definitely HERE.

I made a square card today with a card base from The Paper Studio. The white cardstock is Neenah, red is Provo Craft and kraft is by Oriental Trading Co. The red polka dot patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. I stamped the iris folding stamp onto the white cardstock with red ink and then cut out the center of the heart to do the folding technique. When I cut it out I didn't do that great of a job so I took a red Copic marker, but it could be any kind of marker, and went around the inside edge of the image with the tip to cover up an left over white areas. That way when the stamped image on white cardstock is against the red patterned paper white cardstock doesn't pop out and give away that I was rushing that day. Both inks used in my card, red for the heart stamp and brown for the sentiment, are by Stampin Up.
Sorry my photograph isn't the greatest. I was in a rush that day as well and this was the best one out of the ten shots I take of each card.

The brown flower is by Oriental Trading Co and the red and white by Recollections. This card would definitely need extra postage to send in the mail. Usually square cards with a square envelope are extra postage to begin with. However these card bases didn't come with envelopes and I only have rectangle shaped envelopes. In this case the extra postage would not be applied for the envelope shape but more the flowers dimension and not to forget the dimension with all the folds of paper in the heart. Using thin paper is recommended for iris folding because the bulk it creates using cardstock (and it's easier to fold). The patterned paper in my card is just shy of being typewriter thin so even though there are a lot of folds the bulky is kept lower. But then add the flowers on top and it will never fit through the post office sorter.
Tip: They also say that using tissue paper is a nice fit for iris folding and I;ve heard of a lady who used washi tape to do the folding technique.

Thanks for stopping by on this glorious Saturday. I have no idea what it's like outside to call it a glorious day but as long as I have power to do my crafts and I don't have to go to work it can do whatever it wants out there.
Thank you.

Manly Monday Iris Fold Sailboat card

Welcome back to good old Monday morning. I usually don't mind Monday's because I'm at a different building then the hospital which is nice because it's way less of a drive. Can't beat that. Anyway, enough about me we have Manly Monday to get to. I have a few cards from bloggers to share and then scroll down to the bottom for my card.

week.

A Little Bit o' Paper

Lindyloo's Place

Thanks ladies for letting me post links to your cards. Always a treat to spot masculine/boy cards in blogland.

For my card I have another fun iris fold card which I'm just so into right now. I know you're probably thinking its old fashion but I really like the way it looks and I think its relatively easy to do. It spices up my guy cards. Did you see last weeks tent card? Click HERE to see an awesome camping scene with an iris folding image.

Both this week and last weeks stamps are by Stamp N Plus on page 26 is where they keep this and last weeks stamps. They have an array of stamps and 32 pages of iris folding stamps. You should check out SNP stamps main page right HERE.

I stamped the sail boat on Neenah solar white cardstock in black Hero Arts ink. The slightly patterned paper I used for the folding is by American Traditional Designs and the card base is patterned paper by Recollections. I matted the image onto Bazzill blue cardstock after I was done folding and inked the sky with Stormy Sky distress ink and the water with Broken China. I used the Picket fence white Distress marker around the bottom of the boat and the surrounding waters. Distress inks, blending tools and markers are all by Ranger Industries.

For the sentiment I heat embossed onto vellum using blue embossing powder and this Imagine stamp both by Stamp N Plus. The ink is by Versa Mark and the die cut shape is by Sizzix. After I made the label I didn't quite like the vellum so I die cut the same shape in grey to go behind it. In retrospect I should have redone the whole sentiment because it's hard to make out what it says. I think if I heat embossed it on regular cardstock it would have been clearer to read. Oh well-Live and Learn-It still turned out nice and I don't think a guy would inspect it in as much detail as I do:)

Thanks for joining us today on Manly Monday. Come back next

Christmas Cards all year Round Mid Month Iris folding Ornament

Today I have a mid-month post for Christmas Cards all year Round. I created another iris fold ornament card however this time I used different red patterned papers for the folding part. I'm not sure if I like it any better then the first one I did. What do you think? HERE is the other card/post. The iris folding ornament stamp is by Stamp N Plus and can be found HERE. For this card, I put a sparkly explosion looking embellishment in the center of the iris fold. I had to use two-tiered foam adhesive for it to work. The embellishment is by Making Memories.

For the rest of my card, I  put dobs of Stickles by Ranger all around the image and also some on the ornament. Then I boarder punched a piece of We R Memory Keepers patterned paper and adhered some felt ribbon to it before taping it onto my card front. The felt ribbon is by Oriental Trading Co. I then circle punched a scrap of gold and white cardstock using Creative Memories punches. I placed the sentiment sticker on the white circle and used dimensional adhesive to layer it on the gold circle before adhering it to the card front. I had to use glue dots on the gold circle to get it to stick to the felt. Patterned paper inside the iris fold is by Hot off the Press, Deja Views, Making Memories and My Mind's Eye, and the stamp ink by Stampin Up.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Manly Monday

Manly Monday this week is going to be awesome. I have a fabulous card to share with you and some pretty amazing ladies are allowing me to share links to their masculine cards with you as well. Drop by there blogs and let them know you saw their card here:)
My card has this fun iris folding stamp by Stamp N Plus and can be found HERE. After I stamped it with Hero Arts ink and did the iris folding, I blended some distress inks on the off white paper to make a sky and a ground. On the sky I used the colors Broken China, Stormy Sky and Black Soot distress inks with an ink blending tool. For the ground I used Frayed Burlap. After I was happy with the inking, I sprayed the entire image with a mixture of water and gold metallic powdered chalk. The sticker and leaf die cut are from my stash. I thought the sentiment was appropriate for the stamped image. I hope you agree.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
