Hello Sunshine

There is a new challenge that I decided I would have a go at this time.  You can find it here:
Ike's World - Tic Tac Toe (Flowers, Doily, Die)
http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/the-1st-ikesworld-challenge.html
I am also entering this card into these challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs - Sketch
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/its-sketch-time.html
De Creatieve Zebra - Anything Goes
http://decreatievezebra.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/maandchallenge-1-september-alles-mag.html

I have a real love of sketches - and this one from Incy Wincy Designs was fun to play with.

I have used half of a rectangular doily to cover the front of the card - couldn't believe it was the perfect fit for the front!  The image is the one supplied at the Ike's World challenge above and is called Fashionista.  I have used several dies for this card - a rectangular one to cut out the image, a border one which I also embossed and a beaded circle die which I embossed.  All three dies are from Spellbinders.  Colouring of the image is with copic markers in pinks and reds.  Forgot to write down the colours before I put them back in the box!  The flowers are die-cut with a Marianne's die from red scrap paper.   The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and cut using another Spellbinders die - this time a pennant die.  I added some dots around some of the edges of the pennant to make it stand out a bit more.

Cowbee Greetings

This week I'd like you to meet Cowbee.  Here he is all coloured up:

For this card, I have used a background paper from Create with TLC.  I overlaid this with a honeycomb frame die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I have coloured Cowbee using copic markers and added Stickles - Yellow to the wings.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and cut using a pennant die from Spellbinders.  I have added some pearls and a wooden bee as embellishments.

To learn about who he is and also find out how you could bin a copy of this BEEautiful bug, make sure you head on over to Creative Bug on the Loose and follow the directions that have been laid out.  Entering to win is super simple.  You don't want to miss out on this exciting opportunity so head on over now

I've caught the bug,

have you?

A love letter:

Wintry Thank You

A wintry Thank You card:

This card is for the challenge at Pikes Playground:
http://dustinpike.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/pikes-playground-challenge-time.html

The card uses some cardstock from a paper pad that I bought recently.  The image is from Doodle Dragon Studios, coloured with copic markers and kindy glitz.  I added a sentiment from Paper Smooches to his sign.

The brads that I have used come from my stash.  Not sure why I bought them in the first place but they were just right for the feel of this card.

A shiny present for you

This card was a bit hard to photograph with all the shininess in it - the flash reflected back at me!

The card is for the challenge at A Day for Daisies:
http://www.adayfordaisies.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/adfd-january-club-kit-hop-challenge-61.html

This has also been an exercise in using up some of my older stash.  Both the card blank and shiny green cardstock are from a cardmaking kit I bought at a craft fair about 3 years ago!  The gold peel-off stickers I have also had for about that long!

The image is from A Day for Daisies and the sentiment from Paper Smooches.  I have also added a green wooden button to the end of the banner and some sparkly rhinestones in the top right hand corner (flash has bounced off them too!).

Playing in the Sand

A nice bright summery card.  We are in the middle of summer here in New Zealand and sometimes I just feel like creating a card to reflect that.  This one is bright and summery:

This card is for the challenges at:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/
Whoopsi Daisy - Die-Cuts & Punches
http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/die-cuts-and-punches.html

You might have to scroll down to find the post for Sweet Sketch Wednesday as I couldn't find a link direct to the post - only to the blog.  Not sure what I did wrong but the sketch that the card is based on is this one:

I have used some papers from a paper pad by Kate Knight to form the main background.  The orange matting is from a scrap paper pack that I have been using alot recently - after it sat in my stash for more than two years!  The purple is also some from my stash - think it has been there even longer than the orange!  I added some glitter ribbon from American Crafts to the sketch to tie in the other background colour.

The image that I have used comes from Whoopsi Daisy.  I have had this image for a while but I think this may be the first time that I have used it.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

I have used a paper from my stash.  The tag has been die-cut using a Sissix Tag Die.  The image is the current freebie from A Day for Daisies.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  The die-cut used on the image is a Lattice Rectangle from Spellbinders.  I have embellished the card with some grosgrain ribbon and a pearl.

A colour challenge at Play Date Cafe

In the process of reading through Julie's celebrations on her blog, I found a link to this challenge:
http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.co.nz/2012/06/play-date-cafe-design-team-call.html

I just loved the look of the colours that she chose for this challenge:

The colours have to be the main focus of the challenge but I can add other colours in as accents provided they are neutrals.

I have used the following:
Image from Paper Smooches - Berry Image
Sentiment also from Paper Smooches - Berry Sentiment
Scrapbook papers from my stash
Grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts
Copic Markers - R59 an B39 and B02
Spellbinders Large Circle Dies
