Let's Monkey Around

Back when Creative Bug Digital had a Design Team, I was on it.  I printed out a few images that I didn't end up using on DT projects.  The image on this card is one of them:

Be Mine

I was doing some tidying up recently and discovered that I have a large number of images printed out that haven't been coloured and/or used to create a card.  I am going to try and use at least one per week (more if possible) to reduce the pile.  This is one of the ones that I found:

Creative Bug on the Loose - Fallen Hues

Sadly, this will be the final challenge at Creative Bug on the Loose.  So, if you haven't joined in before now is your chance!  There is a free image available on the Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Fallen Hues - it must be Fall themed and follow the colour palette.

Here is the card I created to inspire you:

To have a look at the inspiration cards from my fellow DT, click here.  Full details of the challenge are also included in that post.

I have used the lovely image Giving Thanks from the Fall Section of the Seasonal images at Creative Bug Digital Snapshots.  The paper and the sentiment are both from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  I used some textured cardstock from DCWV which was a good match to one of the colours in the colour palette.  I used that colour and two other colours that matched the colour palette for the leaves.  These two are also from the same textured cardstock from DCWV.  I added a little bit of glitter to the leaf veins and also added some pearls to the card.

Creative Bug on the Loose - Challenge #6--Goose Bumps

This month we have a Halloween theme with a twist.  For this challenge we want to see a Hallowe'en project with texture of some sort on it. You can achieve this through embossing or adding material or adding embellishments with texture, or some other manner. However you do it, there must be texture that we could actually feel if we had your project in front of us. If we can't visibly see texture in your project, your creation won't qualify for the prize.

I've used embossing as my main texture:

To see what the other DT members have created and to check out the full details of the challenge, please head on over to Creative Bug on the Loose.

I have used a paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles as the background.  I embossed some orange cardstock using an M-Bossibilities folder.  The image is from Creative Bug Digitals and is called Sabrina Candy Throwing Witch.  I have used copic markers for colouring.  The sentiment is from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles and I have added Glossy Accents to they eyes.  I also added three pearls coloured with copic marker V17.

I would also like to enter my card into these challenges:

Creative Bug Digitals - Child's Play Midway

Halfway through another month already!  So, it is timely to remind you of the challenge at Creative Bug Digitals.  Here is some mid-way inspiration for you:

To see more inspiration cards and check the challenge details, head on over to Creative Bug Digitals.

I have created my card for my 16 year old son.  He is very particular about owls - they have to look natural.  So the inspiration for this card was to keep it as natural looking as possible so I have a few autumn colour leaves as well as the wood effect in the background.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Crafting For All Seasons - Colours of Autumn
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/challenge-86-colours-of-autumn.html
QKR Stampede - Things with Wings
http://qkrstampede.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/qkr-stampede-challenge-104-things-with.html

I have used a wood effect paper from Kaisercraft for the background.  The image is from Creative Bug Digitals and is called Hooty Hoo and can be found on this page Here.  The leaves have been cut from glitter cardstock by DCWV using dies from Marianne's Designs and Memory Box.

Creative Bug Digital Snapshots Challenge

After having a month's break, we are back with a new challenge.  The theme for this one is Child's Play.  You are no longer required to use a Creative Bug Digital SnapShots image in your project.  We'd love it if you would, and there is extra incentive for doing so but it is no longer a requirement.  If you do enter using a CBD image, you can enter as many times as you would like.  If using another company's image, then you will be limited to three entries.  Additionally, if you use a CBD image, you will receive an extra chance for winning the main prize.

To check the full details of the challenge head on over to Creative Bug on The Loose.

Here is my card using this month's free image - Malia Manchester:

My card is designed for my daughter who is nearly 18 and in her final year at secondary school.  She is hoping to get into a Costume Construction course next year so I have created a sewing themed card to wish her luck.

I have used a background paper from Kaisercraft.  The die around Malia is a Tattered Lace die cut from some shimmer cardstock from DCWV.   I cut Malia out by tracing the shape of the centre die in the set and then fussy cutting.  I also added some faux stitching to add to the sewing theme.  The tape measure at the bottom of the card is washi tape.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva and the button is from my stash.

And just to get your creativity started, here is a card I created for inspiration:

I have used a birthday themed paper from a paper pad.  The image is Pablo Birthday from Creative Bug on the Loose - that's him on the bottom row in the collage above!  I have coloured him up using copic markers.  I matted using green cardstock from DCWV and added some matching glitter ribbon from American Crafts.

There are some more inspirational cards at the mid-way reminder post at Creative Bug on the Loose.  Click on the blog name to be directed to the post.

Shiver

Here is my card that I created using this wonderful digi:

About this time last year, I saved a freebie paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles Wonderful Wednesday January Kit.  Over the past year, I have used that paper a lot as I love it so much.  Imagine my pleasure when I found that this year's Wonderful Wednesday January Kit contained the same paper in a different colourway!  This is my first card using it but I imagine it won't be my last!
I have also used some pink glitter tape from American Crafts and some bling plus followed the sketch at The Outlawz Wednesday challenge (link below).  The die-cut is a Spellbinder Labels die which I edged with copic marker.  The image is coloured with copic markers.

Twigs

Here is my card that I created using this wonderful digi:

I bought this wonderful Memory Box die before Christmas and hadn't got around to trying it out.  It is quite intricate and fiddly to work with but well worth the effort as it created a wonderful backdrop for this image.  I cut the Memory Box die out using a cream metallic paper and then backed it with silver cardstock.  The image is coloured with copic markers with the addition of some Stickles.  I also used some of the "waste" from the die as embellishments around the image.

Bit By The Bug - New Beginnings

This post was scheduled to go out in the middle of the night last night (while I was asleep).  It is my first time scheduling anything so you would think that I would have checked it when I got up this morning.  However, trusting soul that I am I had assumed that it would have worked.  Just discovered now (some 18 hours later) that it was still sitting there unpublished!

You are going to want to go and visit Creative Bug on the Loose today because a new Bug has been born. Naomi is sharing with the world her newest release:

Christmas Tree

Here is my card that I created using this wonderful digi:

I have used a paper from a paper pad.  I used the offcut from the card front and layered it on to pink cardstock to create some extra dimension.  The image has been coloured with copic markers and die cut with a Spellbinders die.   I have added a felt tree as an embellishment and then embellished that with some small gold glitter domes.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
