I am a bit late posting this week - got my days all muddled!  That is the trouble when each day is the same.
Anyway, we were at the start of the challenge at CHNC yesterday.  The optional theme this week is "Include a Bear"

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image and sentiment are from Bugaboo Stamps.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I also added a puff sticker alongside the sentiment.

Enchanting

I saw a post on Mia's blog here in which she has a challenge to use one of her free mandalas.  I haven't had a play with a Mandala for a long time and I had some inspiration today, so here is what I came up with:

I have used six colours of Distress Oxides to create the background.  I also used the same six colours in Distress Markers to colour the mandala.  I used a Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) to add the clear stamps to the background.  To finish, I added some bling.

The six colours that I used are:
Spiced Marmalade
Spun Sugar
Worn Lipstick
Vintage Photo
Peeled Paint
Faded Jeans

I chose those colours as they were the only colours that I had in both Distress Oxides and Distress Markers!

Gecko Galz Monthly Image Challenge

Inspired by the decoration on the end of the stick, I decided on a double matted image.  I also took inspiration from the same decoration for my flower embellishment

I was reading a blog of someone who I follow who had used a technique using stencils and baby wipes that she got from here.  So, I had a go at it to create the background for this card:

I used a stencil from Memory Box which had a pattern around the outer edges. I used Distress Oxides for the colouring.  My first attempt I used Distress Inks but found that didn't work as well as the Oxides.  The image is from Gecko Galz.  I added some Wink of Stella to the carnation"dress" and the carnation "hat".

Hello Friend.

I am part of a New Zealand Card Swap Group and this is the card that I sent this month.  Back in March, we had to include a simple ATC card with our card.  This month, we had to use the ATC that we received as part of our card.  I left the ATC intact and added a matted sentiment and gems to it and then attached it to the background that I created:

I have used offcut pieces of papers from paper pads by Kaisercraft to create the background.  I used a scrap piece of cardstock behind the background.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva and was from my "Awaiting Crafting" box.  I matted it onto a die-cut that I had cut previously and not actually used.

Get Well Soon

I had written this challenge down as Get Well Soon with a sentiment.  Just as well I checked back before cutting out the sentiment as I discovered that it actually was Get Well Soon with a tag or label, so I was able to rescue my error.  I got out my Distress Oxides and had a bit of a play:

The background of the card and the tag is created using Distress Oxides.  The image and sentiment are from Beccy's Place.  I die-cut the tag and reinforcement using dies from Nellie's.  Colouring of the image is with copic makers.  Both the image and tag have been inked with Distress Ink.  I also added some pink gems to the card and some bakers' twine to the tag.

I have used two digital papers from Beccy's Place.  The images and sentiment are also from Beccy's Place.  I printed out an image that had jellybeans in it and fussy cut the jelly beans to fit in the jar.  It was relatively fiddly to do but I'm pleased with the end result.  I used some bakers twine across the smaller piece of matted digital paper and also added some pearls to fit the sketch.

Lazing at the beach

I have used a art liner to draw the "stitching" around the edge of the card.  I embossed a panel using an dots embossing folder and then added some ric-rac braid to represent waves before adhering it to the stitched card blank.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I also added some gems dotted about.

This month, the theme at Scribbles Designs is "Brads, Buttons and/or Bows".  I decided to incorporate all three into my card.
