Hi! Just popping in to share the card I made for my future niece in law.  She had her shower on Saturday :)  Remember this post?  The card my nephew, Jack, made was for Dayle and Kurt.    The shower theme was Paris! That was all I needed to hear before grabbing my Hero Arts Eiffel Tower background stamp AND this French sentiment from Waltzingmouse :)   The string of hearts are cut from some shimmer white cardstock and to add the last bit of sparkle, I added some sequins :)  Can’t wait for the October wedding!

May Happiness Be Your Destination

lifesadventuresmaureenplut

Hello again!  Wow, it’s Monday and I’ve got 2 posts!  LOL  I’m back with my CAS Online Card Class homework for Day 6.  Today we were given more CAS sketches with a couple of fun techniques.  I chose to do Kristina’s sketch and background tone on tone effect.   I stamped my Newpaper Eiffel Tower background onto PTI’s soft stone with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I added a hit of colour with patterned paper and completed my focal point with the sentiment stamped on balsa wood.  I turned the balsa banner into a tag by adding a jumbo eyelet and some bakers twine.  Thanks for visiting again!

Just a Note ~ CASE Study #126

justanotemaureenplut

Good evening everyone!  Are you ready for another challenge over on the CASE Study blog?  It is sadly the last week with our uber fabulous Muse, Amber, but she’s leaving us with another CAS beauty…

jan31

I was instantly drawn to the colours on the first card…cream, aqua and soft grey as well as the thankful sentiment. I’ve left some beautiful Christmas paper on my desk as we still have snow here and hey, it’s still January! LOL  I didn’t feel I had enough time to use this year’s gorgeous Christmas paper, so that’s what I reached for.  I also cracked open a new to me Hero Arts set, Essential Messages, I received as a publication incentive :)  I die cut a MFT fishtail banner out of balsa wood and turned it into a tag with an old SU jumbo eyelet and a twine bow.  Oh, I LOVE WOOD! LOL  For more inspiration, head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

You’re Old School and Cool ~ CASE Study #97

oldschool

Hello!  I’m back again with this week’s CASE Study challenge.  Sadly, it’s our last week with the super talented Joy Taylor, our June Muse, but she’s going out with a BANG!  I love so many elements on her card this week…

june 28 - 97

I broke out my washi tape, a newsprint stamp and my super cool Hero Arts typewriter.  I follow the lines of Joy’s card for my layout and then just had some fun with seam binding ribbon, typed sentiment and distressed edges.  How about joining us this week?!  Stop by the CASE Study challenge blog for all the details and some more amazing inspiration from the Design Team, then create!  It’s so much fun!  Have a lovely evening and we’ll see you tomorrow for a special school year end post (remember, July 1st is my New Years! LOL). signature

Oh, my! Where to start for inspiration!!? Well, for starters, my sketch is loosely based on her card as well as the blue, yellow and cream palette.  Then I was inspired by the heart and typed letters :) OH, I just love that little yellow rose button I found in my yellow button jar!  AND then of course, the dark stitching!  As the card says, this is “Beautiful!”  Now hop over to the CASE Study blog to check out what the Design Team loved about this card and then creating!! I want to see what you make!! Hugs!

My Friend

St. Pat’s Fact: The actual color of St. Patrick is blue. Green became associated with St. Patrick's Day during the 19th century. Green, in Irish legends, was worn by fairies and immortals, and also by people to encourage their crops to grow.

Good morning!  Well, it seemed taking a night off from stamping worked last night :)  I feel refreshed and a card sketch popped into my head as I got home from work :)  The colours are from the colourQ challenge this week and I’ve made sure I followed the colours to a capital “T,” including not adding a 5th colour from the picture (I have a habit of doing that! Sorry! ;)  I will confess to this card having a “blooper” though…see if you can find it and let me know in a comment!! It’s always fun to have a game going!! LOL  And no, it’s not that it’s NOT a St. Patrick’s Day card!! LOL  I thought I’d throw you all and make a CAS friendship card :)  It could also be a little birthday shout out to blog buddy, Heidi, for today is her birthday :)  Happy Birthday Girl!!  Thanks for stopping by…have you figured out the blooper?

I Always Love Hearing From You

hearingfromyou

Good morning!! Well, today’s card was going to be my entry for the WPlus9 Colour Cue challenge, but when I went back to the site to link it to the challenge, I noticed I had read the colours incorrectly!!! YIKES!  Instead of orange, I was supposed to use yellow.  I must’ve had orange on the brain for some reason.  So I’m posting a “just ‘cause”  card.  If anyone has a challenge I could enter this in…please let me know!!  Thanks :)  However, I did get to play  with my new Hero Arts stamp set (enabled by Aimes!) so all is not lost ;)  Have a great hump day :)
