She's Back!!

Yay!!! It was "snow wonderful" to bring out Ms Snowbunny Bella tonight. Not only do I love her, I am inspired by how warm she looks in her pink parka and fashionable Sorels (winter boots!). I am trying to stay just as warm, although I don't look as hip as Bella LOL. Tonight's card is for Mercy's Tuesday sketch. I had to elongate the top panel to fit little Ms Bella, but I don't think anyone will mind :) Have a lovely evening and thanks for stopping by...
(p.s. I had a terrible time uploading these photos...kept getting "server rejected" notes. Blogger Help(less) suggested switching back to the old editor, which worked, but is very cumbersome. Anyone else have this problem? What did you do?)

Whew!!! What a week of Verve scrumptiousness!!!  I have been putting off all other challenges and stamping to enjoy my time as Verve Guest Diva...my biggest honour ever.  So this is the first challenge that I couldn't get out of my head.  It's for the latest Embellish Challenge.  I don't have many "cutsy" stamps, but I do have a small collection of Bellas :) Two of my favourites are latte Bella (of course!) and this cosmo Bella...the dh and I love our martini date nights :)  I also have this sentiment on a stamp, but it was too big for this card so I typed it out in Word, then stamped Bella beside it...love the way it turned out.  I don't colour, but I paper piece and Bella needed a bit of colour to draw your eye to her.  Hmm, I really like this...notice that martini?  It's a Hypnotic Heaven!! LOL...I love martini drink names!! LOL  Thanks for visiting and check out my blog candy!! I'm giving away all the cards I've posted this week for the Verve Spotlights PLUS a $25.00 Verve gift certificate!!!

Paper: su kraft, groovy guava, really rust, su and basic grey dps

Your Love Keeps Me Warm ~ Mercy's Tuesday Sketch

Greetings!!! Ahh, I have my computer back now and can resume posting!! I thought I'd go into withdrawal, but was so busy that it probably was a good thing I took a few days off :) Happy to say the old computer is in optimum shape...both DVD and CD players are working and I can listen to my Christmas CDs in the studio rather than have them blaring from downstairs :) Today's card is for my dh, Tony {insert loving heart here!}. Since I've stayed up many a night making a card for Mercy's sketch while my husband went to bed, I thought it only appropriate that she should be part of his card this year!! LOL (love you, Mercy!!). I've had this Snowbunny Bella image in my head for this card all week.

There is no sentiment as I didn't know where to add it so I printed it on the inside. Please excuse the boring inside stamping...I usually leave my cards plain inside as the outside uses up all my creativity! I made my own sentiment "Your love keeps me warm," by printing it out in Word and leaving room to stamp the "love." This saying is perfect for my husband as he is HOT (no, literally!! He's an oven) and I am cold (feet and hands only!! LOL). He keeps me warm all winter!! LOL And loves me to pieces :) {insert another loving heart here!} Yes, there are some girly elements on his card, but hey, I'm a girl and the Bella represents me :) The card below is the one I made him last year. It uses the retired SU stamp from Nice and Narrow...I love this set and still have it :) The sentiment is from the Leann Rimes song, "All I want for Christmas." Again, I just printed it out from a Word document. Inside it says, "'cause all I want for Christmas is you."

Well, that's all for today! Thanks for stopping by! Up next is the Viva La Verve sketch and then I'm going to attempt an Embellish card!! Yikes! Hope you are staying warm (if you want to!) where you are :)

Snow Bunny Bella ~ Mojo Monday

Greetings, everyone!! Today's card is for the Mojo Monday challenge :) When I saw the long rectangular panel, I knew I wanted to use my Snow Bunny Bella!! It's the first time I've been able to ink her up since getting her last Spring. Isn't she fun? A totally Canadian Diva!! LOL I say Canadian, not just because I am in Canada, but because the company that makes her is Canadian!! There was no "handling fee" on her!! LOL I tried something new with my stitching. I hope you can notice the straight stitching on the white panel and then when it hits the pink polka dot panel it changes to zigzigging...I hope I'm not doing anything that will hurt my machine! Eek! Veteran sewers help me if I am!! Ah, she looks so warm in that parka and those fun boots!! I wanted to give her some sparkle with some prisma glitter on the fur, but didn't want to take the chance of ruining her...next time for sure!! TGIF tomorrow...it's double date night with the dh and some good friends. Yahoo!!

Thinking of You ~ Viva La Verve September Sketch

Good morning, beautiful!! Isn't that lovely to hear? It's what I get to hear every morning from my dh. He's gone for a few days working out of town so I have a quiet house before all the hoopla of next week starts. This card is for the Viva La Verve's first September sketch. The twist is to use "little round things." This Bella image was sitting on my desk with a few others. I had stamped and coloured a few to save time but hadn't used them all. I thought Pregabella would be perfect for the twist since she has a "little round belly." LOL :) The other round things are the embossed swiss dots, the round edge punch, the circles and all the bling. I was only going to do the top row of silver pearls, but then the card looked top heavy, so I went all the way around the scallops. It was either a very good idea or way over the top. But, hey! Bling is best! I think it's rather eye catching. Have a wonderful weekend, all you beautiful blog buddies :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day Birthday!!

Do not check your calendar, it's not March 17th! Today's card was for two challenges over at the Verve forum. I used a turned sketch #3 and made a birthday card (Amber's challenge) with stitching (Jackie's twist). My favourite day of the year is my birthday!! I'm a St. Patrick's day baby (my name is the Irish form of Mary) and had to make a card showing my love for this day. I got this Goodluckabella last Spring but hadn't used it yet. I stamped the image with Versafine on water colour paper and coloured with SU ink and an aqua pen. Thanks for the tip, Melisa! I had been colouring with blender pens but it always looked awful. I still need to practise this way, but it looks way better than the previous tries. I thought the sentiment from Papertrey was the perfect finishing touch. I have only taught one student in my 17 year teaching career that has the same birthday as me and have had a couple of students with siblings who've shared the day with me. My sister went on a first date with her husband on my birthday over 35 years ago. Do you know anyone who's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day? Happy Friday!! EDITED TO ADD: This card I entered for Jackie's stitching challenge won the random draw for a $25.00 gift certificate to Verve!! How fitting for such a "lucky" card! Oh, and I've spent it already :)

What's in it?
Stamps: Goodluckabella, PTI mega mixed messages
Ink: Versafine onyx, SU black, old olive, celery, mustard, pumpkin
Paper: watercolour paper; SU old olive, vanilla; PTI shimmer gold; Bazzill textured green; it takes two dp
