Pink Power Bloghop & Diva Dare

Hello friends!  If you’ve arrived from Amber’s blog you are right on track.  Chaitali has rounded up some of her crafty friends to help spread BC awareness. This is a cause close to her heart after her mom was diagnosed with BC earlier this year. She designed the Pink Power set for her mom with a lot of love. She is sponsoring this hop with the set for the hop guests. We also have some of the Verve DT playing in the hop today!

On my pinkalicious card, I’ve use the brand new Inspire Hope and Pink Power sets from Verve.  I’m mixing and matching the powerful words from both sets to create a chalkboard-ish panel wrapped in my own “pink ribbon” and finished off with some Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

Celebrate Today ~ Diva Dare Hostess

Hi everyone!  Today’s card fills so many shoes!  First off it’s my Diva Dare card over on the Verve Blog.  Second, it uses the new Viva la Verve sketch over on the Viva La Verve Blog.  And third, but definitely not least, it was made Tuesday after the news that the teachers and government had a deal and our 5 week strike could be over!  So today I am setting up my classroom as best I can to welcome students on Monday!

The Most Fabulous Birthday Ever!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  It’s my favourite day of the year AND I’m the Diva Dare hostess over on the Verve Blog!  I’ve got a little confession…I almost didn’t have a St. Patrick’s Day card to post today.  Yikes! This second card was the first one I made for the Diva Dare challenge, but I had a hard time NOT having a St. Patrick’s Day card to share.  I literally could NOT do it!  So I dropped everything and made this Lucky Charm card.

Diva Dare and Curtain Call Reminder!

Hey everyone!  I’m a busy girl today playing Diva Dare hostess AND reminding everyone that there is one more week for the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.  Head over to the Verve Blog for more deets about this card that I had SO MUCH FUN creating for the DH!  Both the Diva Dare and Curtain Call Challenges are asking us to get “Smitten!”  Well, I’ve been smitten over my darling husband for coming up 8 years :)  I was thinking about Photo Booth apps and found a real easy, free one called Pici booth.  Then I thought it would be fun to hold some large “Sweetheart” candies with little sweet sayings on them.  I made these extra large sweethearts, pulled out my red feather boa, and had fun with my new app :)  I couldn’t figure out how to print these out any smaller, so I just cut the strip into two then tucked them into a little vellum pocket. 

To create my background, I took several Verve hearts from the No Matter What set and embossed them in gold.  Then I took 4 different gelatos and scribbled over the embossed hearts.  Last, I took my aqua pen and did a water wash to blend all the colours.  I got this technique from Dawn McVey HERE!  Head over to the Curtain Call Inspiration blog for all the deets on this week’s challenge!  Thanks for stopping by!

Good morning!  It’s Friday and there’s double the reason to celebrate today!  First up is my take on this week’s Viva La Verve sketch using some goodies I picked up on my mad Archiver’s shopping spree last weekend in Boise.  I always like to help out the local economy {wink!}.  My new favourite paper at the moment is this Teresa Collins Memories with coordinating decorative buttons.  LOVE!  I’m also using some fun new Maya Road linen trim.  Here’s the rest of my haul…

Lots of enamel dots, some more paper, an embossing folder, Hero Arts Stamp, wood veneer shapes, doilies, etc.  I even picked up ANOTHER paper pad of MME’s Fun Day Kraft.  This is the only pad I’ve ever bought twice and I did it because I love the black on kraft paper designs.  Now, the second announcement is that I’m hosting the Diva Dare Day 10 over on the Verve Blog today so head over there and join me as I talk about this very special card  I’ll be using next week ;)
