A Thousand Miracles ~ PTI Blog Hop

thousandmiraclesmaureenplut

Hello and TGIF!  What a great day for the PTI Blog Hop this month…FRIDAY!  I’m very excited about the inspiration photo this month!  I love me a chalkboard, even before it was in!  I played “school” when I was little and had a little black chalkboard I wrote on.  Fast forward to now and I still have a chalkboard in my class, not wanting to replace it with the more modern whiteboard.

My Leaf Prints dies were still out from my last few projects so I used them on today’s card.  Thanks for stopping by and see you on the hop!

Many Thanks ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

thanksmaureenplut

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Hero Arts, for this challenge!  A randomly selected participant will receive SIX new clear stamp sets from the Hero Arts, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

I have been wanting this chalkboard stamp ever since I saw Lisa S.’s card HERE.  I also have the birthday one!  I LOVE them!  I wanted to do something a little different so I inked up some white paper with turquoise, light blue and bubblegum pink.  Then I inked the stamp in black to create a blackboard written in coloured chalk!  I added a little “hello” from Essential Messages on the sweet tag.  You don’t want to cover up all that fun chalkboard text!

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Merry Christmas!

merrychristmasmaureenplut

Hi friends!  As I wrote up this post, I was actually looking into the future and thinking of Christmas!  I don’t usually look that far into the future, but when you are in the middle of a strike, you tend to do that and tell yourself “this too shall pass.”  We’re not there yet, so I look forward to better times.  Today’s card uses the Festive Friday inspiration photo…

festive

I picked some paper with a country feel and some trees to mimic the boughs on the photo.  The I made a CAS chalkboard sign for the sentiment.  I desperately wanted something else on this card, after all it is for Christmas, the season of blitz and decorations!  I chose a sweet little bow from PTI’s Bells and Boughs.  Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely, lovely day!

My Happy Place ~ Viva La Verve

happyplacemaureenplut

Happy Friday morning, everyone!  I’m the hostess over on the Viva La Verve blog today with a sketch and inspiration photo to get your mojo going!  When I was looking for a photo, I made sure that there was a chalkboard in it somewhere {wink!}.  I found a few I could have easily used, but this one won out with the little Canadian flag in the background!

June Rewind and our New Grandbaby!

teacherslivemaureenplut_thumb[1]

Good morning friends!  It’s rewind time again!  This card was made for a retiring colleague last year using my favourite Verve Teachers Count set.  I could make cards like this till the cows come home…I love it just as much now as I did last year.

It’s been a little quiet on the blog as the dh and I went to visit our new little granddaughter, Ashlynn, this weekend.  She arrived 2 weeks early and is 7 lbs, 2 oz of pure sweetness!  It’s true what they say about being a grandparent (even a bonus one like me!).  It’s the best!   Your job is to just love without the poopy diapers! LOL Without further ado, let me introduce Ashlynn with Grandpa and Grandmoe :)

Photo: Waiting my turn to hold the baby

I love this one with a very proud Grandpa :)

So that’s what we’ve been up to!  A nice break with all the craziness going on around here :)  We can’t wait to see her again!  Have a wonderful day!

Oh, new Verve!  How exciting!  Julee has designed some fresh and fun fonts and flowers to satisfy my addiction to both :)  I’m using a couple of the new Button Best sentiments to create a little chalkboard sign with the Occasion Frame die and matching On Occasion frame image.  I cut each of the Petal Points dies out and stamped the coordinating flowers out adding the cute little centers from the set.  I just punched them out with my circle punches…easy peasy!

Peace On Earth

peacemaureenplut

Good morning!  I came straight home on Friday with no classes, no trip to the gym, just straight to the studio after making myself a latte :)  It felt so good to play that I didn’t even mind poking out the paper bits on this doily :)  LOL  I’m playing with the current Festive Friday challenge.

festivefriday

I didn’t know what to do for the pinecones and jar, so I just went with the colours and rustic feel.  I sure hope the chalkboard look is still around at Christmas! LOL  It’s been out for over a year.  Luckily I jumped on it when it first started to ride it for all it’s worth and then some!  Hope your week is grand :)  Thanks for stopping by :)

Chalkboard Heart Picks ~ Clearly Besotted Sneak Peek!

heartpicksmaureenplut

Good morning!  Well, we survived the Rehearsal Dinner and everyone had a fantastic time.  I want to share some of the fun details I made for the party.  First up are the heart picks I used for the dining room table floral arrangement.  I made 2 pink scalloped hearts and 2 shimmer white scalloped hearts then sandwiched the wooden skewers in between so  no matter which side you look at, you’ll see these lovely chalkboards.

 IMG_7292

I just love the chalkboard look and had a blast creating these little ones.  The soon to be released Clearly Besotted Basic Alphabet set was perfect to add Brian and Ashlee’s names.  I also used some images from Framed Sentiments and Basic Banners to help complete the look.  Here’s what my work space looked like…

banners

I stamped the banner on my scratch paper so I could stamp the name down to make sure it fit properly.  You can see the letters lined up on my acrylic block.

lineup

I also made a chalkboard style sign to greet our guests…

And here’s how this all began as I woke up one morning last week with some ideas…I quickly sketched them out so I wouldn’t forget…

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out some more sneak peeks over on the Clearly Besotted Blog :)

Remember This {day}

rememberthismaureenplut

Good morning!  It’s the Monday of a very busy week here, but I wanted to let you know (if you didn’t know already) that there is a whole lot of fun going on over on the Splitcoaststampers site.  The Dare to Get Dirty 2013 challenges are up and there are prizes from the Member companies, including Verve!   My card is for the one posted on Saturday…use any concept of time.  Well, my oldest sister is having her birthday on…yes, you guessed it, 8.18!  LOL  I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make another very personalized card using Verve’s Calendar Countdown and Remember This, both of which are on SALE now until July 31st.  AND I’ve used one of my Martha Stewart chalkboard tags…LOVE!  Easy to stamp onto with craft ink or write on with white pencil crayon.  I used my LAST piece of aqua seam binding ribbon from Verve’s Signature Collection…Whaaaaa!  I didn’t have enough to do the double bow, so I used another piece of tea stained aqua ribbon I had on hand :)  I like the subtle difference of the two ribbons.  Thanks for stopping by!
