With Sympathy
Hello friends! Does this card look familiar? It should, it's my SAF Remix card. Nichole is letting us have another crack at a card we weren't that happy with during SAF. I wasn't thrilled with my card for Melissa's challenge because, as much as I love Rosie Posie, the flowers I used didn't give that watercolour feel. My PTI order has since arrived so I was able to use Floral Sketches and get a better watercolour look :) Here are the two cards side by side.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Stamp-a-faire Finale!
Hi friends! Well, here I am after 12 hours of stamping! Still standing and not covered in ink and paint thanks to my baby wipes and PTI SAF apron :) I'm holding my favourite card, recreating van Gogh and Laurie's sunflowers using Painted Poinsettia. I had a whole lot of fun (and frustration) and am happy to say I completed all 9 challenges! Here are all the cards in my display case...
A big thanks to Nichole and the design team for another fun time of inspiration and comraderie :) And it wouldn't be my SAF finale post without, once again, sharing some photos of the first SAF in Ohio. I got to meet my dear friend, Lynn, and the PTI design team. So I'll leave you with some of those...thanks for visiting! Group hug!

PTI Stamp-a-faire Share Your Masterpiece
Hi PTI friends! Though I'm not joining in ALL the festivities today (we're going to a wedding in a few hours), I am able to at least get the ball rolling with the first SAF challenge, share your favourite project. The one that popped into my head first was the one I made CASEing the gorgeous one Melissa made for a Make it Monday last November (see my original post here).
I didn't think I could make one, but then it all fell into place...it went to my secretary for Christmas and she loved it too :)
Ok, I'm off to put some make up on and get dressed! See you all tomorrow! Have fun creating today!

SAF Finale ~ Red Carpet Challenge
Hi everyone! Okay, I look a little stunned because it’s 11:00 Sunday night and there’s bad lighting in the studio :) I’m back in my SAF Canada tank holding my favourite card of the weekend for the final Red Carpet Challenge. It kind of matches my shirt too with that gorgeous maple leaf :) Here’s the traditional display of cards made this weekend…
And now that it’s all over, I’m heading to bed…up early to go back to my classroom and start setting up for the new school year that officially starts on September 8th here in BC. Thanks for popping by and big hugs to Nichole and the PTI Design Team!
SAF ~ Pins & Needles, Unconventional Materials, and Make it Work Challenges
I’m back again with the last 3 cards and challenges for this year’s SAF event. I haven’t had a lot of time this weekend to take my own sweet time and play, but I do have a whack load of cards for my stash so that makes me happy! First up is another card for the Pins and Needles challenge. I love to stitch on cards, but don’t think I’ve done too many stitching through the sentiment cards. Love how this turned out!
So I think this Unconventional Materials challenge was the most fun although I wasn’t going to participate! Isn’t that the way it always goes. It surely was the one with the best story… I needed some air this morning so I went down to the closest hardware store, Princess Auto. First off, how do you love that name? Is it just in Canada?
Truth be told, it felt a little weird being in there without the DH! HA! If I HAVE to go with him, I usually spend my time playing the game I made up, “How Many Pink Things Can You Find at the Hardware Store.” Like this…
I was roaming the aisles and even had a man ask me what I was going to polish when I was looking closely at things in the polishing aisle. It was hard to explain that I was looking for things to use in an unconventional way. He said he was only asking because he was very good at polishing and just wanted to see if I needed help :) Sweet! Or maybe it was a pick up line! HA! I finally found my items, some presto pins (no idea what they are for) and 3 bolts with a cool design on the top.
I came in just under $10 Canadian, taxes included! With the crappy exchange, I should have been able to spend $15! LOL!
I used the tops of the bolts to create my background paper. I stamped the image in gold pigment ink and embossed in gold powder!
Then I layered the Presto pin under the Thanks to hold it up and continue the gold accents.
The Make it Work Challenge was my last card. I kind of struggled with this one and am still kind of thinking I want to makeover the makeover card! LOL I had a watercolour experiment left over as well as a “Just Because” sentiment.
I made a flower out of the paper and added some autumn paper and an apple to create a teacher card, my favourite kind of card to make :)
Well, that’s all! My last post tonight will be the finale! Thanks so much for visiting :) Group hug!
SAF ~ Threads, Pins & Needles, and Runway Challenges
Hi friends! I’m back with the final line up of cards for the Stamp-a-faire challenges! First up is a card some of you may recognize. I loved this layout and those leaves so much I’ve made several versions of this card. For the leaves this time, I’ve used the rock and roll ink technique to get some variations on the leaf. This card is for the Threads Challenge. I’m using Danielle technique of using the twine as a border between two patterns.
Next up is a card for the Pins and Needles challenge. I had so much fun looking into my pins box…haven’t been there for a while!
Last up for this post is the Runway Challenge. I found this card a little “wowzers” even for me! To be honest, I haven’t watched any of the Project Runway shows except for the clips here during SAF. I’ve been too busy! I’ve only had time for DWTS! HA! Maybe that will be next year’s SAF theme!
Okay, I’ll be back soon with the last set of cards and then the finale!
