Hebben jullie ook zo genoten van het heerlijke lenteweer afgelopen weekend? We hebben eindelijk groeizaam weer, niet koud, vooral zondag veel zon en wat ik noem lekkere voorjaarsregen, je ziet de tuin groeien...... Heel veel in de tuin gewerkt afgelopen week, alle oude takken, stengels en overtollig blad zijn opgeruimd en verhakseld. Mijn zondagsklus was de oude hortensiabloemen afknippen en daarvan knapten de struiken wel zó op. Ze zien er weer fris uit met het ontluikende nieuwe blad. Ondertussen maakte ik wat foto's voor mijn blog van wat er zoal in bloei staat.
F. heeft vorige week het gras met een hark geverticuteerd, een zware klus daarom mocht hij het dit keer doen. Een paar dagen erna heb ik het gemaaid en bemest met Eco-style Gazon-AZ, dus nu groeien maar! Ik moet alleen Snarf zijn renbaan nog bijzaaien. Gelukkig zie ik her en der ook weer wat Delphiniums opkomen, die krijgen nu wat beendermeel, daar houden ze van.

At last we have favorable weather with moist conditions, not cold, especially Sunday plenty of sunshine and what I call a nice spring rain, you see the garden growing...... I worked many hours in the garden last week, the garden is cleared of all old branches, stems and excess leaves. I have been shredding and my Sunday job was cutting old Hydrangea blooms from the many shrubs, now they look so very tidy and refreshed with their young foliage coming out. Last week F. has been verticutting the grass with a rake, a tough job that's why he did it for me this time, I'm grateful. A few days later I mowed the grass for the first time and fertilized with Eco-style Gazon-AZ, so start growing! I only have to re-sow some grass where Snarf had his racetrack.
On different places I see Delphiniums appearing, I'm glad they are still there and I shall give them a gift of bone meal, that's what they like.
De Forsythia bloeit ook weer met haar frisse lentegeel. Geel vind ik altijd wat moeilijk in mijn tuin, maar zeker in de lente en ook in de herfst hoort er geel in de tuin.
The Forsythia is also blooming again in pretty spring yellow. To my opinion yellow is always a bit difficult in my garden, but certainly in spring and also in autumn yellow is essential in the garden, I think.
De rode Camellia ooit uit een stekje van 10 cm. opgekweekt bloeit onverminderd door. Op de voorgrond de Camellia Jury's Yellow, met de altijd smettende bloemen.

De viooltjes staan inmiddels ook weer buiten mooi te zijn.

De teakhouten tuinset is ook weer 'ontgroend', kunnen we er weer een zomer tegen.

My favorite pale pink Camellia is a slow grower.
Boompioenen lopen prachtig uit en ik heb stiekem al heel wat knoppen geteld.
Tree peonies are sprouting wonderfully and I sneeky counted quite a few buds.
Buiten het hek bloeien de Leucojum aestivum ´Gravetye Giant´ als een tierelier. De naam zomerklokjes misleidt ons echter wel. Bijna niet te geloven dat dit allemaal nakomelingen zijn van één zakje bolletjes ooit van een vriendin gekregen. Helaas hebben ze hier wel de plek van veel narcissen veroverd en ingenomen.

Hardly to believe these are all offspring of only one packet of bulbs I got from a friend a long time ago. Unfortunately, they do have conquered here the place of the daffodils.

This time I planted Hyacinth bulbs outside, an exception. To my mind Hyacinths are for growing inside.
Mijn oudste Camellia die we deze maand 27 jaar geleden van de vriendenclub kregen toen we hier kwamen wonen, heeft voor ons Hollandse klimaat buitengewone afmetingen bereikt. De foto boven nam ik op de bewolkte zaterdag en de foto beneden op de zonnige zondag.

Magnolia stellata, alweer zo´n fijne heester die elk jaar weer terug te zien is op mijn blog, ook volop in bloei nu en ik deed zowaar op deze heerlijke ´warme´ zondag nog een ontdekking, de bloemen geuren heerlijk. Dit was me nog niet eerder opgevallen......, waarschijnlijk doordat het warmer was en de geuren dan gemakkelijker vrij komen.
Magnolia stellata, a great shrub which appears every year again on my blog, also in full bloom now and sure enough I did a discovery on this nice and ´warm´ Sunday, the flowers have a delicious fragrance. I did not notice this before after all these years....., probably this is due to the temperature, when it´s warmer the smell releases more.
Bij de Magnolia soulangeana was echter geen geur te bekennen.
