GlossyBox celebrates turning one with a GlossyLove Box!

Hard to believe that it's already been a year and GlossyBox knows that the best way to celebrate is with a pretty box full of luscious products, including: Givenchy Gloss Interdit No. 3 Coral Frenzy, Essence Quattro Eyeshadow, Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment, Anatomicals You need A Blooming Shower! Rose and Jasmine Body Cleanser, Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day/Night Cream Sachet Duo, Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Eucalyptus & Sage Ultra-Moistrizing Hand Therapy Sachet and, what's a party without cake, a Glossybox Cupcake Kit!

The mixture of products is what tickles me about these boxes - the Givenchy Gloss is a perfect spring shade and the small size makes it perfect for the tiniest of bags, you can't have enough Biore Pore Strips and then I get to try new brands like the Anatomicals Shower Gel and the Macadamia Oil and I always love to discover a new citrus scented product like the Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Cream!

With various other sample boxes coming and going it's nice to see Glossybox is still here and intends to stay!

If you haven't had your Glossybox experience yet, it's time to get yourself signed up - go to http://www.glossybox.ca to join in on the fun!

Gifts for the hard to buy for from Philips, Glossybox, Bosch and Bacon Freak!

Everybody has that person on their list - you know, the one that is impossible to buy for but because you are married to their son/are related to them by blood/ran over their cat - can't get out of buying a thoughtful gift for them which sadly, doesn't include a gift card to the LCBO or a box of chocolates from the gas station. Here are a few tried and true gifting ideas for your hard to buys:

(Almost) everybody has teeth and if you have somebody on your list still using a manual brush - they will love you for this one. Manual brush people are either too cheap to buy an electric brush or have no idea how much better electric cleans - either way, it will be a hit! A great choice:

Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean Rechargable Sonic Toothbrush - $229.99 - with an advanced new handle and high density, diamond-shaped bristles that remove up to 100% more plaque from hard-to-reach areas, improve gum health in only 2 weeks and whiten teeth in just 1 week. It offers 5 cleaning modes and dual charging options including this very cool charging glass!

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, Centre du Rasoir, Personal Edge and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

The beauty lover in your life will be thrilled with a  beauty subscription which will send a box of beauty samples to their mailbox every month! There are several subscription services to choose from and I'm a fan of:
Glossybox - with a couple of gifting options of sending 1 box for $21 or 3 months worth for $60 or you can sign them up for a monthly subscription at $21/month recurring which you can cancel at any time; 6 months for $115 or a year for $220 - whatever you choose, they are sure to love it!

Check out www.glossybox.ca for more details and to subscribe!
The coffee addict in your life would be thrilled with a: Bosch Tassimo T55 Home Brewing System - $129.99 - has intelligent barcode technology for a perfect beverage every time with an innovative flow-through water heater delivers your beverage in under a minute and a mild/strong feature so you can have it exactly how you want it. The cup stand is height adjustable and removable so that any sized cup will fit. Especially awesome, it features automatic cleaning, because let's face it, if you're too lazy to make coffee, you're too lazy to clean up too!

Best of all thanks to this present - you now have the perfect gift to get them on every occasion from now until the end of time - Tassimo T Discs!

Available in black, white, red and blue and you'll find it at: The Bay, Best Buy, Sears, Future Shop, Canadian Tire, Home Outfitters, London Drugs, Bed, Bath and Beyond and Walmart - and shop around a bit, I saw it as low as $119 and as high as $149!

And when all else fails there is always bacon (not recommended for vegetarians) - who wouldn't love monthly bacon...? Bacon Freak Monthly Bacon Club - $49.95/month - as well as every other bacon product you ever hoped to see!

GlossyBox - beauty brought right to your door!

Germany's GlossyBox beauty subscription service has finally made it's way to Canada for your sampling pleasure! Working pretty much the same way the other sampler services do - they deliver 5 deluxe (and sometimes a special 6) samples to your door every month at a cost of $15.

February's inaugural box came packaged beautifully in pink and ribbons and chock full of some really great products. My preference when it comes to these services, is to get products I haven't tried from brands I know, or have at least heard of. And on that score, this box hit a home run!
Included in February's box were:

Ahava Mineral Hand Cream - sample, Elizabeth Grant Skin Care Moisturizing Stick - full size, Essie Nail Enamel in Neo Whimsical - full size, Oscar de la Renta Live in Love Body Lotion - sample, Elizabeth Arden Prevage Night Anti-Aging Restorative Cream - sample and Beauty So Clean Sanitizing Wipes and Mist - sample.

My particular loves from this box are the Ahava Hand Cream (so needed these days), the Elizabeth Grant Lip Balm and how can I not love the Essie polish - so pretty!

It will be interesting to see as the months go by if they can keep up this level of brand quality, I have my fingers crossed for them!

The service also encourages you to review the products you receive and to get your friends to drink the GlossyBox kool-aid. In return they reward you with GlossyDots - 20 for every product you review (up to 5 a month) and 200 for every friend who joins. When you reach 1,000 GlossyDots that month's box is coming your way free!

You can check out all the GlossyBox details and their blog at www.glossybox.ca.
