Of course a great looking tan is all about the prep: 

If you shave or wax your legs, do it the day before applying tan so you will not have to shave on top of a fresh fake tan; do some crazy exfoliating in the shower which will help with a smooth application; and before applying the self tanner, lightly moisturise elbows, knees and any dry areas on the body to help avoid dry orange-y patches!
