Getting TIFF ready made easy at the Essentials Lounge!

Surviving TIFF became a lot easier thanks to the 2013 Essentials Lounge hosted by EGPR at the Templar Hotel last week - offering pampering and preperation to Toronto's media members.

Sorel was on hand with comfy slippers and a preview of their fall collection and to show that fashionable footwear doesn't need to be unformfortable!

How much do you love these booties with the bright orange heel!?

I tried the light tone for my pasty white legs and it took about 5 days to start seeing noticeable colour and about 7 days to get to a colour that I liked. Once I achieved the tone I wanted, I used the lotion 2 days on and 2 days off to maintain the colour - which kept it from getting to dark for my taste or becoming patchy.

The easiest and best thing you can do to help your tan look better is to make sure you are starting with a smooth surface by exfoliating. If you aren't a fan of messy scrubs the you will love:

I don't know why they call it a glove when it's more like a bag... it does do an excellent job of quick body exfoliation without the mess of a scrub it would be a lot easier though if you had one on each hand so you wouldn't have to keep switching hands. They do say you can use it without shower gel for a more intense exfoliation but I found it way too harsh that way and much prefer it with a gel!

This week I'm obsessed with... Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C Hydra-Moist Super Fruit Balancing Infusion!

When the weather is hot I like to find ways to add the moisture I know my skin needs, in ways that won't feel like there's an extra layer of "stuff" on my face smothering my pores. My newest love is:

Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C Hydra-Moist Super Fruit Balancing Infusion - 200ml - $18 - a 2 phase hydrating spray that harnesses the power of Vitamin C, Acai Berry and antioxidants to help nourish and revitalize the skin further after cleansing for smoother and radiant looking skin.

I spray it on right after cleansing and then apply my serum while my skin is still damp, locking all that wonderful moisture in! I've also taken to keeping it in the fridge and giving myself a spritz during the day when I'm feeling overheated - heaven!

I've been using it with:

Vitamin C Hydra-Moist Super Fruit Cleansing Mousse - 200ml - $20 - super potent Vitamin C with Hydracylle technology is fused with dragon fruit for a gentle cleanser that packs a big punch for skin that is purified, invigorated, refreshed and soft to the touch.

I love the mousse texture and that it cleans without stripping - my only disappointment from either product is that I was hoping they would smell super-fruity but they don't have a lot of scent at all!

I've been test driving a serum from another line but I am looking forward to eventually trying:

The Essentials Lounge revives, renews and refreshes!

TIFF is winding down but the joy and satisfaction of the Essentials Lounge will last a long time thanks to some great new products and services!

Benefit was on hand to offer a perfect foundation match with their new Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup and How To Look The Best At Everything Kits

And where I given the best tip of adding a little That Gal Brightening Face Primer to a foundation that might have to much yellow in it to add a little glow to my skin!

Winks Eyelash Boutique was offering enhancing eyelash extensions - I highly recommend always having these applied when lying on a soft squishy bed and getting in a power-nap!

Event-weary hair was quickly perked up thanks to the magical abilities of Alain Larivee, John Frieda stylist - with a little Luxurious Volume Anytime Volume Refresher Dry Shampoo and a flat iron and he actually had my poker straight hair curly - something I haven't seen since I used to get Toni perms as a kid!

Elizabeth Grant was showing off their new products including something I'm in love with: The Socializer Spotlight Exfoliator - 60ml - $26 - with a built in sponge which makes it easy to get at those hard to reach spots! And if you already love their Collagen Face pads, you'll be happy to know there is a neck pad now too!

Calvin Klein was present with their new line of bras  - Push Positive - which have taken the wire out of under-wire! You're out of luck if you're larger then a 36C though...

And there was no concern about getting parched - there was Smart Water and Vitamin Water everywhere you looked for your drinking pleasure!
