Back in Jersey: Winter Birds

Northern Mockingbird

Red Bellied Woodpecker

Well we've been back from Africa for a week now and are slowly getting back on schedule. We haven't been out birding in NJ yet, but are enjoying our backyard birds. The mockingbirds are in our neighborhood all year but only come to our house in the winters. The red bellied woodpecker is year-round resident.

Northern Mockingbird and California Towhee

Mockingbird

We just got back from a trip to Los Angeles helping our daughter and son-in-law move into their new house. Here's a photo of a mockingbird in their lemon tree and a towhee in some shrubs.

Birds of Island Beach State Park

Female Grosbeak

Seagull

Mockingbird

We went to Island Beach State Park. It was a better day for the beach than birding, but here are a few photos. The top is female blue grosbeak (we think). The middle photo is a seagull eating a crab. Chris was traumatized by a crab as a child, so she thinks it's fine for the seagull to kill them. The bottom picture is a rather rumpled mockingbird.

Sustainability is you can forget only corporate social responsibility checkbox; it's a great imperative. Businesses today must embed sustainable practices to their core operations never to only meet up with the expectations of socially conscious consumers but and and also to future-proof themselves against regulatory changes and supply chain disruptions. The triple bottom line—people, planet, and profit—is now the guiding principle for responsible business conduct. better business bureau
