This easy one skillet cabbage dinner is ready in under 30 minutes!
Recently, my computer crashed when a Windows Update went wrong. I lost a lot of pictures for my recipes because I had not backed them up in a while. So I made a mad dash to try and fit in all my upcoming recipes for the blog on my meal plan. I'm not at all peeved that I had to do it because I truly enjoyed all the recipes that I lost pictures for or they wouldn't be coming to the blog at all.
This wonderful main dish recipe is made in one skillet in under 30 minutes. The tomatoes are such a nice touch with cabbage and sausage, plus the cajun seasoning is the perfect bit of seasoning needed. You could definitely add more if you wanted. It's truly up to you.

What you need:
- 3 Tbsp. butter or bacon fat
- 1 small green cabbage, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/4 tsp. cajun seasoning
- Garlic powder to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a large deep skillet, cook sausage for about 3 minutes over medium-high heat. Remove and seat aside.
- Add butter/bacon fat to skillet and let melt. Add cabbage and cook on medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
- Add onion, tomato, seasonings, and sausage. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
- Uncover and cook until cabbage is to desired doneness and most of the liquid in the skillet has reduced.
I love this Spicy Cabbage with Kielbasa and Mashed Potatoes recipe. It's similar than the recipe for today but it has a kick! This Southern Bacon Fried Cabbage from Love Bakes Good Cakes looks like the perfect side dish.
