Take 5 Cheesecake
I am so excited to finally get around to sharing this recipe (although I'm a few days late actually getting it up like I was supposed to. Sunday Sarah here backdating to Friday - whoops! This is the cake that I made for my sister-in-law's birthday in February 2020. She asked for a cheesecake and said her favorite candy bars were Take 5s. I had never heard of them or had one before, but I was able to find out that they are chocolate with pretzel, caramel, and peanut butter. I mean what's not to love?! So I adapted a Twix cheesecake recipe and replaced the graham crust for pretzel crust and added peanut butter to the ganache. This is definitely really high up there on favorite cheesecakes of all time list. It was SO good.

Soft Pretzel Bites
These little pretzel bites are the perfect appetizer - dunk in queso, mustard, or caramel sauce!
I have made a few different kinds of homemade pretzels - mostly buns or bowls. The trick really boils down to the baking soda and water bath that the dough should take. I really really want to make my pizza crust into pretzel crust soon. I think it'll be insanely good. These pretzel bites were treats I made for NYE 2018. I made half with just salt and half with cinnamon sugar. Both were fantastic and I couldn't pick a favorite. They are really good dunked in queso, mustard, and caramel sauce. I'm sure there are plenty more dips that would pair with the salty or sweet in the most wonderful way.

Every Monday, I go to my happy place...Kroger! Right now is my favorite time of the year and I look forward to going to the grocery store. Why? Because there is always a new pumpkin treat to discover or an adorable owl coffee mug, candle holder, etc. I try to steer clear of our candle aisle because I have a candle problem, but I saw the little blue “look what’s new” tags walking past and had to stop!

I picked up a few of the new Glade® Limited Edition Fall Collection Fall Scents goodies and couldn’t wait to go home to make my house smell all autumn-y. I picked up a pack of each of the new scents of the PlugIns® scented oils - Hit the Road™ and Pumpkin Pit Stop™ - and I picked up a Pumpkin Pit Stop™ Jar Candle. Our Kroger is currently moving stuff around, so that stuff is categorized in the aisles in a more common sense way, so unfortunately I cannot tell you the exact aisle number you can find these on. But you know your Kroger store - these lovelies are in the candle aisle.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars with Pretzel Crust
I have been hugely slacking here on the blog...it's a shame really. I have over 80 drafts just sitting waiting to be scheduled. Pretty much all of them have pictures and the recipe ready-to-go. It's just me sitting down and making a printable version (copy/pasting), labeling them, and adding a nifty description to the pictures. And then, of course, talking a bit. I have tons to say about life and the recipes, just not enough time to sit and type it all up!
So...I'll kind of touch base here a little...
We are house-hunting...amid my in-class observations and doctor's appointments.
It's quite the life...we're on the go...go go go!
And man-oh-man do I wish I had some of these bars in my life right now. They are salty and sweet, crunchy and chewy. They are kind of a little difficult to make, in that, the pretzel crust wants to just slide all around, but they turn out just fine even if they aren't absolutely perfect - and that's what matters, right?!

Buffalo Chex Mix
My husband is a spice-aholic. I mean he eats the spiciest wings when we go to a wing place like Bdubs or Quaker State. He eats jalapenos like they are going out of style. I've worked on my sensitivity over the last 7 years or so. Buffalo anything is a must in our house. I love trying different buffalo foods. These weren't particularly hot, so I may add a little more hot sauce next time!
