Beijing Is Now The Billionaire Capital Of The World

Beijing is the new "Billionaire Capital of the World.'' The Chinese capital has overtaken the New York as home to the most billionaires -- 100 to 95 -- according to Hurun, a Shanghai firm that publishes a monthly magazine and releases yearly rankings and research about the world's richest people and their spending habits.

The study, which comes months after reports suggested China now has more billionaires than the United States, highlights how China's elite are continuing to accrue vast wealth despite a wobbling stock market and cooling economy.

Different tabulations of wealth, such as the Hurun Report and the Forbes list, have historically produced somewhat different results depending on their methodology.

Rupert Hoogewerf, the founder of Hurun, attributed China's explosive wealth creation to Chinese market regulators allowing a flood of new initial public offerings after holding back new IPOs for several years.

Hoogewerf said his wealth calculations were made using stock prices as of Jan. 15, which means they took into account the Chinese market's 40 per cent tumble over the past half year.

New Trends | Electric guitar overtakes violin in music lesson boom

The electric guitar has overtaken the violin in a list of most popular musical instruments for children to play, says a music exam board.

Some 13 per cent of five- to 17-year-olds play the electric guitar, compared with 12 per cent for the violin.

Keyboard is the most popular instrument, played by 30 per cent of the 1,726 children, questioned by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
The figures suggest a music boom – but poorer children may be missing out.

Some 76 per cent of children aged five to 14 told the researchers they knew how to play an instrument compared with 41 per cent in 1999.

Compared with 1999 there has been rise in instrumental learning an across the board, with increasing numbers of children playing a wider variety of instruments and some children playing two or more, suggests the report.

Back in 1999, the recorder was the most popular instrument among this age group, with 19 per cent learning, just two per cent of children played the violin and one per cent, the electric guitar.

WTF! Bridesmaids Flashing their Butts in Wedding Photo Trends

Bridesmaids...and sometimes the bride...flashing their butts in wedding photos has sparked a new trend in some parts of the world. It supposedly started after some models posing as bride and bridesmaids did a photo shoot in wedding attires showing off their derrieres for an underwear campaign...and now real brides and bridesmaids think it's cool and have started doing it. Sometimes they wear matching underwear...and sometimes they go as far as showing off their bare bottom.

The ladies say it's a way of spicing up the traditional wedding photos. Should this trend catch on or die fast?

Sixteen Reasons Why Grinding and #Twerking Is The Worst Thing To Ever Happen To Humanity

What do you say when you have Usain Bolt, world's fastest man other favorite sport is grinding.  Grinding is a popular dance move in which two people shake their hips very close to each other while facing the same direction.

16 Reasons Why Grinding Is The Worst Thing To Ever Happen To Humanity

If done properly, it should look something like this (I think):

16 Reasons Why Grinding Is The Worst Thing To Ever Happen To Humanity

But it is, without a doubt, the most uncomfortable and awkward dance move EVER.

16 Reasons Why Grinding Is The Worst Thing To Ever Happen To Humanity

Here’s why:

1. This generation’s lack of dance skills have prompted men all over to resort to dry humping as a substitute for dancing.

The future of dance looks dark and pitiful.

2. Where are you supposed to place your hands? Her ribs? Her back? Her hips? Are you supposed to just hold them behind your back?

The Basic Rules Of Buttoning A Suit Jacket

What are the rules on buttoning a suit? Why are there even rules on buttoning suits?

Well – the rules are easy enough to learn. I’ve laid them out in the suit buttoning infographic above.
But why do we do this? Why even care about suit buttoning rules?

Two Reasons

1) It sends a signal that you pay attention to the details.
The vast majority of men who violate these rules do so because they do not wear a suit regularly.  These small rules are used by “those in the know” to identify other men “in the the know.”  It’s like a secret knock!

Childish? Illogical? Perhaps, but it’s the reality.

A Steady Path to Supreme Court as Gay Marriage Gains Momentum in US

Rainbow flags flew at San Francisco City Hall in June to celebrate two Supreme Court rulings bolstering same-sex marriage. Credit Noah Berger/Associated Press
A sweeping decision on Thursday night struck down Virginia’s ban on same-sex marriage and continued a remarkable winning streak for gay rights advocates, putting new pressure on the Supreme Court to decide the momentous question it ducked last summer: whether there is a constitutional right to same-sex marriage.

Since June, when the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples are entitled to equal treatment in at least some settings, federal judges in Oklahoma, Utah and Virginia have struck down laws barring same-sex marriages. In state legislatures and state courts, too, supporters of same-sex marriage have been winning.

5 Surefire Signs Someone You Care About Is A Narcissist

At middle age, we all face the fact that our place in the world is evolving as we get older and our bodies and faces change. Narcissists are confronted with the decline of their sense of importance in the world and the fading of their good looks in a way that can be particularly devastating to them. There may be a frantic grasp at staying young by narcissists who have lived their lives trading on their physical appearance to be relevant and noticed. It happens on blogs and in the media as (more often than not) women try to keep the attention they've always craved through plastic surgery, overt sexuality, provocative words and images and more. In some cases, it's not sexy at all - it's sad and desperate.
According to the Mayo Clinic, narcissism is:
...characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, which is in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders.
Some of the symptoms of narcissism include:
