The VDP is (almost) back!

HELLO everyone! VDP is coming back on line after a long year of absence.
What do you think about starting exactly where I quitted? It was a warm early spring last year and I posted a photo of the busy cafes of Piazza Erbe titled "Spring?".
I would title this one "Spring!"
I hope that many of you who used to follow this blog will still be there and maybe some new ones will join us.
The VDP will be back on track very soon. Stay tuned!

If not now, when?

Today and tomorrow, all over Italy, loads of people, especially women, will demonstrate their indignation and disdain against the italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. I was among them today and I will be at the parade "Se non ora quando?" (if not now, when?) tomorrow.

This is the leaflet used to promote the political demonstration.
Even Juliet is indignant.

Ladies

I took this photo years ago with my old camera, a Sony Cybershot. It was a cold but sunny winter morning and Piazza Bra was lively but yet quiet.

Graffiti

Why people must go and write on sculptures? Does this happen in your town?

Sultry evening

It's been quite hot lately but yesterday and today it got really really sultry, almost suffocating. I took a walk with my daughter in the evening but the usual freshness that comes with the dark hour, failed to arrive. This is Piazza Erbe, cafés packed with people. This one, in particular has those special nebulizers that give a little relief...

Cocktail on the river

Caffé al Ponte, near Ponte Pietra is one of the very few cafés/restaurant with a terrace straight on the Adige river. It's small and cosy, with a ...refreshing view!

Street scene with strawberries and a Vespa!

Sunny morning, a few days ago. I have just left the Church of Santa Maria in Organo and my head is still spinning for all the beauty I tried to take in (please see my posts of the church!!!) and photograph (ceilings included...).
I am on Via Carducci here, a busy place, with many shops and people walking by, like this girl with a big tray full of strawberries...mmmhh, I'd fancy a nice cup of strawberries and cream, fragole e panna!

You will forgive me for (again) breaking the rules and posting another photo...I spotted this lovely pale blue Vespa coming right into the street and I just wanted to show it to you, as it is, with no doubts, an italian icon!
