Brand Ambassador Christmas Card Inspiration

Hi, it's Julie here with a little bit of Christmas inspiration at Uniko.
Whilst trying to come up with some different ideas for Christmas cards, I remembered this card using a turnabout stamp and it also reminded me of this card I made a couple of Christmases ago.
Here is my take, using some Uniko goodies.

Using a black, A6 side folding base card and after giving it a healthy going over with my anti static pad, I arranged some foliage radiating from the centre of the front panel. I used the large solid stem from Sweet Broom and the small spray from Season of Beauty, then infilled with part of the evergreen bough from WinterFoliage
Using my Misti, I stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with white EP. Flipping the card 180', I repeated the process. To fill in the other corners I placed the same elements on the card front but had to carefully mask off some of the stems so that they didn't overwhelm the centre and repeated the process of stamp then emboss. There was a slight gap in the centre which I filled with some small evergreen boughs from the Background builders: Vines Winter Additions.
On a panel of Vellum I stamped the Merry Christmas from Festive Sentiments and embossed with red EP, then added a die cut thin frame before adding it to my base card. It looked a tad empty, so added a couple of punched holly sprigs before adding Nuovo drops for some more a festive finish to the base and vellum panel.

My second card uses the Background Block- Scandinavian Christmas stamp.
The different images on this stamp reminded me of decorations on a Christmas tree, so I decided to make a card along those lines.
Here is the end result.

To begin, I took a scrap of acetate my OH was throwing away, and made a stencil by die cutting a simple tree shape.
Using my MISTI, placed an A6 red card base under the stencil, secured it with the magnets and stamped the image with Versafine and used some fine gold EP to heat emboss. The sentiment in the same gold EP is from the Pure Florals Poinsettia set. When finished, I noticed there was a mark in the card stock along one edge, so although I wanted it to be a OLcard, I had to trim the panel down and add it to another base card. Waste not want not! I also decided to add some Fired Brick and Vintage Photo DI to give my red card stock a little more richness

Hope I've given you some inspiration for those Christmas cards you need to make. Happy crafting.

Introducing... Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom & Quilted Stencil

Hey!

Welcome back to day 3 of the October 2018 Release product introductions.

This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days :)

Thank you for all the comment love yesterday here and on social media. If you missed yesterday, you can catch up HERE, where myself & the DT introduced 2 Stencil Designs and an addition to the Simply Said Blocks series. You can catch up HERE with day 1, where myself and the Design Team re-introduced Background Builders: Christmas and Jolly Christmas clear stamp sets.

Today we are introducing Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom & another Stencil, Quilted. Here is a look at the two products.

First up is Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom, a lovely multi-step foliage clear stamp set. Though I have categorised it as a Winter Botanical, it can be used and paired with a variety of other clear stamps and products all year round.

This was one of the cards we made at last weekends Uniko Stamping Retreat and I wanted to show how the detail stamps can be used on their own and not just as shading inside the outline foliage stamps.

I was inspired by an Autumnal sunset when I chose the colours for my ink blended panel and I used Altenew inks. The foliage stamp and sentiment (from Simply Said Blocks) are stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Next is another card we made at the Stamping Retreat and it was technique based, embossing with stencils...

I'd never tried embossing with stencils before I made this card and it was one technique which inspired me to create this stencil design. I was so chuffed with how the embossing turned out and I'm kinda loving embossing with stencils!

I wanted to make sure the embossed background wasn't obscured too much, so I chose to use the flowers from Beautiful Blooms III and a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

That's all I have to share here, but my AWESOME Design Team have created projects to share with you all too. Be sure to hop along, commenting along the way. You never know, I might just pick some random comments to WIN some prizes this release ;)
