CAS Colours & Sketches #297 - Colours

Hello November!

This month at CAS Colours & Sketches our hostess is Patricia, the challenge owner.  As usual we are starting the month off with a colour challenge and HERE are this weeks colours...

Another beautiful colour combo and it made me think of pretty Cosmos flowers, so this is what I made...

I've kept this card really simple. The flowers from Pure Florals: Cosmos are stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then I used Stampin' Up! markers to colour my Cosmos flowers. I substituted Balmy Blue for Soft Sky because it was the closest blue I had. I've not purchased the new colour markers yet :(

I adhered this stamped and coloured panel to a piece of So Saffron card, wrapped some white bakers twine around and tied in a bow. This is adhered to the card base using foam adhesive.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #288 - Colours

Hello September!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches and this month Samantha is our hostess. Summer is almost over and there is a hint of Autumn in the air already here in the UK, the days are slightly cooler and the sun is going down earlier and we start to think of the next holiday, Halloween! Which I think inspired Samantha's colour choices HERE this week...

I've never been a huge fan of Halloween and I don't make a big fuss about it or making cards to celebrate, so I had to sit and think of how to use them for a different occasion. This is what I came up with...

It has been ages since I used Background Builders: Squared and when I saw the current sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below, I thought the colours and the sketch would work great with the stripe stamp. I used my MISTI tool to stamp the stripes to get them as evenly spaced as I could.

I used a trio of Altenew colours that best matched the ones in the CC&S graphic and the sentiment is from Simply Said Birthday & die cut using a little rectangle die.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #286 - Colours

Hey!

Welcome back to another week at CAS Colours & Sketches. This week our hostess is Wei and she has this fun sketch HERE and seen below...

These are pretty colours, but I struggled a little with them. I think maybe because I didn't have 2 of the colours in any medium and I have had to find the best substitutes I could. Anyway, this is what I came up with...

I decided to give the recently released So Much clear stamp set some more inky love and I was so inspired by THIS card by Uniko DT Julie, that I had to give colouring the leaves in black a go. I am loving the results too!

Black and white with just the trio of colour is all you need some times! I stamped the image on an angle, fussy cut the lower section, stamped the sentiment (YOU from Birthday Sentiments, partial sentiment stamped) and then adhered the panel using foam adhesive to a black card base.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #284 - Colours

Hello August!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches and as the northern hemisphere is in the full height of summer & people on their holidays, this month is a multiple hostess month. This week our hostess is Patricia and she has this challenging colour combo HERE and seen below...

I love blue and green, but the Cajun Craze threw me at first! However, I had an artistic idea and I have been wanting to free hand paint some background lines, so decided to give them a whirl on todays card using watered down Cajun Craze...

I decided to dust off Kindness Blooms, stamping the blooms in Pacific Point (the closest blue to Blueberry Bushel I own) and the leaves also from the clear stamp set in Old Olive (the closest green to Mossy Meadow I own).

I layered the blooms and leaves onto my watercolored lines panel, adhering some with double sided tape and some with 1mm thick foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Originally Organic Additions and I finished the blooms off with some Cajun Craze enamel shapes.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #275 - Colours

Hello June!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches and Wei is our hostess for June. As usual we are starting things off HERE with a colour combo...

Summer is starting to bloom and these colours scream florals to me, so that is exactly what I reached for! I decided to reach for a trio of clear stamp sets I've not given a lot of inky love to for a while, Beautiful Blooms II, Flower Power #6 and Natures Treasures II.

I did some fairly simple masking and stamping, along with some generation ink stamping (stamping off), to achieve the lighter shades of the colours. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II. Once I had created my cluster of flowers and leaves I fussy cut them out and adhered it to my base card using foam adhesive.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #270 - Colours

Hello May!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches and Cathy is our hostess for May. As usual we are starting things off HERE with a colour combo...

I admit that this colour combo threw me a little ;) However, I scouted through my supplies and landed upon using Originally Organic & Originally Organic Additions to create my card.

I also turned to CAS(E) this Sketch! for the layout of my card, seen HERE and below. I had to do a tiny bit of stamping and masking in the lower left corner, but the fussy cutting was worth it!

I decided to use the Sahara Sand (Crumb Cake was my closest match) and the Berry Burst as my main colours and the Soft Sky as an accent as I only have that colour in card. I also kept the design to just stamping and didn't add any extra embellishments.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #268 - Colours

Hey!

I can't believe we are half way through April already! This month our hostess is Karen and she has already inspired us with 2 fab challenges. This week is colour week and Karen has come up with this colour combo to inspire you HERE and seen below...

This colour combo has all my favourite colours in pastel tones, which threw me a little but here's how I used them...

I've been enjoying using some of the previously released Uniko Background Blocks again and reached for a fave coming back in stock later this week, Background Blocks Doodle Flower

I've stamped the block in Altenew ink and used a close match Prismacolor Pencil to colour the petals. I've then stamped the block onto some Pool Party CS and fussy cut one of the flowers and added a Daffodil Delight sparkly enamel dot. Again, another sentiment from Simply Said Blocks, I just can't resist reaching for this sentiment set!

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #266 - Colours

Hey!

A new month means a new hostess and Karen is our hostess for April. As usual we are starting things off HERE with a colour combo...

I seem to be stuck in a creative frenzy with the recently released and sell out clear stamp set Kindness Blooms and Simply Said Blocks. I've used them both again...

I wanted to create a quirky background using the colours to match the quirkiness of the looped bloom and leaves. I didn't have Rich Razzleberry ink, so reached for my closest match Berry Burst.

Do you have a 'go to' clear stamp set when you're creative time is short? I'd love to know!

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #258 - Colours

Hey!

Looks like last weeks Timeless Tuesday was a challenging one, lovely to see you give it a go though! A new month means a new hostess and Patricia is your hostess for February. As usual   we are starting things off HERE with a colour combo...

Isn't this a lovely combination of colours? Perfect for a lovely floral card don't you think? This is how I was inspired to use them...

I needed to make a card for this coming weekend, as hubby and I have been invited to an engagement party. So I reached for Pure Florals: Rose to make this congratulations card.

I wanted to keep as much white space as possible, so I opted to use the outline roses in both sizes, stamping and masking to create the corner clusters.

The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum and I added a few White Blizzard Nuvo drops for a little added interest and sparkle. I have then foam mounted the stamped panel to a white card base.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #255 - Colour

Hey!

I am back THIS week and again your hostess for the January challenges over at CAS Colours & Sketches. I loved seeing how you were all inspired using last weeks sketch. This week is colour week and I have this combination to inspire you (hopefully)...

I should really be super organised and create my cards way back when I come up with the colour combos, as I had so many ideas when I did, but when it came to making my card recently I couldn't think of what to do!

It was only whilst commenting around blogs I realised that I needed to send a friend a hug in an envelope and this is what I made...

I love the boldness of this hugs sentiment from BIG & BOLD Hugs and I really should do more bold focal sentiment stamps ;) This time I decided to pair it with the heart wreath from Originally Organic Additions and a smaller 'Sending You' sentiment from Simply Said II.

As I don't have the SU! inks for Soft Sky and Wisteria Wonder I used my SU! Markers and MISTI tool to ink the stamp and repeatedly stamp it using the MISIT until I had a image I was happy with! The hugs sentiment is stamped in Perfect Plum, fussy cut out and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

Short an sweet today from me, I've not much time before one Bean goes to nursery and on stays home with me! No rest for this mummy today or tomorrow and I've a HUGE list of things I need to do as well as keeping him busy. Nothing like multitasking at its best!

I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

Happy Birthday CAS Colours & Sketches!

Hey!

You're just in time for the party!

CAS Colours & Sketches is celebrating its 250th challenge and its 5th Birthday THIS week!  Everyone at CC&S are so thankful for our challenge participants who have made this milestone possible.

In celebration CAS Colours & Sketches are teaming up once again with UNIKO as their sponsor for this weeks challenge! Whoohoo!

Five of the participants in this week's challenge will be chosen to receive an in-stock stamp set of their choice from Uniko!  Awesome, right?  Since you have to play in order to win, let's get on with the challenge details...

Samantha is here with some fun colors for our birthday celebration challenge. All of us are excited to see what you can create with these bright, cheery colours.

We've used Stampin' Up colour names for reference; however, you may use any companies' products for your cards as long as you match our colours as closely as possible. You may also use neutral colours (white, cream, kraft, brown, grey, or black) for card layers, sentiments, and image outlines. However, in order to be considered for our weekly winners, you must not use any other colours.

Here's how I have used this weeks colours...

There are so many wonderful things associated with birthdays, but what's better (apart from cake and presents) than some bright and cheerful birthday balloons?!

I decided to ink up Balloon Bash for my card today and simply did some creative masking and stamping to achieve a little trio cluster of balloons in opposing corners of my card.

After stamping the balloons I added some hand drawn balloon strings and stamped some circle confetti, adding a shimmery enamel dot to three of the confetti dots.

The simple sentiment is from Simply Said and I've die cut both the stamped panel and Pacific Point blue panel using Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables dies.

That's all I have to share with you today, but be sure to head on over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog post HERE to enter the challenge AND check out the other Design Team blogs and leave some love to be in the chance of winning blog candy from those who have some on offer this week ;)

I look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

CAS Colours & Sketches #248 - Colours

Hey!

Happy Tuesday and happy November! I can't believe we are into another new month, these days and weeks are flying by so quickly I can hardly keep up!

The weather here in the NE of the UK seems to all of a sudden turned very cold and wintery. I don't mind the cold as long as it isn't raining and cold! Luckily so far its been dry/sunny and cold!

Anyway, back to why you are here!

A new month means a new hostess at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month our hostess is Samantha and she has come up with some wonderful inspiration, including this colour combo HERE and below to start us off...

And here is how I have used the colours...

Greens, not my strongest colour to work with and when I use a green I tend to choose more earthy greens or bright lime greens. So I was a little stumped at first when I saw this combo!

When I get stuck I often turn to Instagram or Pinterest for inspiration and thats what I did. As I don't have these colours in Stampin' Up! ink, (I could have matched close colours) but had them in card stock, I was looking for a design to incorporate card.

I was heavily inspired by Laurie Schmidlin's striped snowflake card on this post HERE. I am drawn to anything with a snowflake on it and even more so when there are stripes involved too!

I trimmed a panel of white card and simply adhered strips of alternating Tranquil Tide and Emerald Envy card, leaving a gap in between. I then die cut the panel using a MFT stitched die.

The snowflake is the medium one from the Uniko Designer Die Snowflake Trio die cut from a silver shimmer CS. I bought this from The Papermill many many moons ago and only have small off cuts left :( The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Poinsettia stamped and embossed in Silver Dollar EP. Both the snowflake & striped panel are adhered to a white card base using half thickness foam adhesive.

That's all from me today & thanks for stopping by, but if you need some more inspiration using the challenge be sure to hop on over HERE to see what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches Design Team have made.
