Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Passiflora & BB Grid

Hi everyone,

Steph here with my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post for May. And I also add that May is my one year anniversary of becoming a Brand Ambassador for the wonderful Uniko. Where has that time gone?!

This month I’ve dug out the Uniko Passiflora stamp set because it’s one of great beauty but I haven’t played about with it nearly enough.

I really like florals teamed with geometrics and when I first saw the Uniko Background Blocks Grid stamp it reminded me of garden trellis so I think it’s a perfect match.

My first card uses the BB Grid stamped twice which rather nicely fits an A6 card front. I stamped my Passiflora in the most common colour way leaving the petals white but adding a purple edge by stamping with the outline stamp only. Each layer of the flower is stamped, cut and adhered using either double sided tape or foam pads for depth. The leaves and ‘twirls’ are stamped in my favourite green and arranged around the florals. An addition of sentiment from the Uniko Floral Vines stamp set, which is raised up on foam pads, and the panel was adhered to a purple card blank.

My second card uses a single grid which I have offset as I wanted the florals to take up the main focus of the bottom right of the panel. This time I used the colours of a pink Passiflora and again the layers are adhered using both double sided tape and foam pads.

My final card is a slimline and I wanted the leaves to shine out here. I’ve stamped them in three shades of green before adding the BB Grid along the right hand edge. I then stamped the Passiflora in a purple colour way and one more leaf! I adhered the sentiment using foam pads and then added the leaf on too. After adhering the florals I added some drops of glossy accents to the middle stamen. They look like dew drops in the morning!

All the florals are shaped with the petals curved backwards which has not shown well on the photos but looks great on the cards.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you like my three ways with Passiflora. As always I had a lovely time inking these stamps and I know I’ll be coming back to them again soon.

Much love

Steph x

Speed Test!

Happy April!

Oh my, this year seems to be flying by at the speed of light!

I've been busy here at Uniko HQ behind the scenes, working on new product designs, features and workshops. Plus all the day to day running of things, packing and posting lovely orders :)

Anyway, talking of speed, I saw the current challenge over at AAA Cards HERE and thought I would have a go and join in!

It looks as though I am a little rusty at speedy CAS cards and not as organised as I thought I was ;) Along with this challenge I'd seen the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below and it sparked some creativity in me.

I knew I wanted to use the recently released Passiflora clear stamp set and coordinating Designer Dies, so I set them out on my desk along with Altenew inks. I chose Wisteria, Hydrangea & Ultraviolet for the Passion Flower and Olive & Moss for the leaves and I was set to start!

Here is the result...

AND here is how long it took me...

The longest part of this card was die cutting the flower, leaves and details of the flower. Plus as I like to use foam adhesive for dimension with this flower, it was pretty time consuming taking all the foam square backs off! I'd also not chosen a sentiment or my base card colour, so I think I wasted a few minutes deciding on those ;)

The quickest part was adding the embossed lines using my small Fiskars paper trimmer and embossing blade and adding the Nuvo Drops to add the finishing touch.

Anyway, it was still good fun and it definitely got my creative juices flowing. That's all I have to share with you here today, thanks for stopping by.

Introducing... Passiflora & Designer Dies

Hey!

Welcome to Day 4 of our 7th Birthday & February 2019 Release product introductions. The last three days have been so fun and inspiring. If you have missed any of them you can catch up HEREHERE and HERE.

I'm back again today with my guest designer and the design team to show you LOTS of inspiration! This time we are introducing a new Passiflora Clear Stamp Set & Designer Dies...

I've found Passiflora more commonly known as the Passion Flower interesting and inspiring for a long time. When I was at University I was made aware of the Fibonacci Curve and how it occurs in nature. The Passion Flower is one of these natural occurrences and it fascinated me.

Anyway, early last Summer I purchased a Passion Flower plant to put in my garden and chose a nice sunny spot at the front of our house. I was over the moon when it flowered and it inspired me to translate this amazing flower and foliage into a clear stamp set.

Now, it wouldn't be a release without a daily blog hop full of inspiration! As usual my AWESOME Design Team have worked their magic with todays products, so be sure to hop along & see them...
